  2. You mean the arm itself? If that is your question, no you cannot. What you want sounds like the Canadarm2. There is a mod called Kanadarm wich may be what you want. This is the Canadarm1 for the shuttle.

Canadarm [WIP] for stock MK3 Cargobay, Mike-NZ's OnePiece shuttle pack and the CSS Purpose: I had a hard time finding a somewhat realistic and working Canadarm for the Space Shuttle so hopefully this fills the gap Features: Camera in the effector for IVA use (needs RPM) Effector uses a magnet (KAS) to grab stuff. This is not realistic but it give very steady performance without wobble. You can also pick up Jeb with the magnet :-) How to use: The mod adds an attachment node to the CSS, Onepiece and stock cargobay. This is where you should attach the Shoulder part. The shoulder part cannot be surface attached! The Canadarm uses IR for the moving parts and KAS for the effector magnet. You can create presets in the VAB (recommended). To "grab" stuff with the effector you have to enable the magnet. It is recommended to map this to an action group in the VAB. The arm and the magnet both use electrical power so keep this in mind when using the arm. There is a camera mounted in the effector wich you can use via Rasterpropmonitor. You can also use the supplied subassembly.   8. Yes you are right. The only thing is that using docking ports makes it wobble like heck. Using a magnet (I used the KAS magnet) makes it very, very stable. Try it yourself. No wobble at all, it feels like its one part. - - - Updated - - - Sure thing man, give it a spin! :-)
  9. nonono don't do that, first compare both. As I said your model is a little more detailed so maybe thats the one. Ill compile a link with pic for ya, one moment. I am still working on the model + textures but the IR stuff is completely done.   10. Haha nice one. Your's is a one piece so fits the shuttle better. Great job! Mine might be a little bit different. Its the Canadarm 1, has a camera in the effector for IVA use and uses a magnet. I also have modelled the "cloth" around it. Your model is better looking though.

  14. No I do not. Thats what causes most problems so I make sure the parts are properly alligned in Blender already. I have no problems with rotational joints, only transforms.

  16. A fun update for the IVA people (and a bit EVA as well). I redid the Canadarm from scratch, it has a camera in the effector and uses a magnet to grab stuff. The fun part is that it is completely controlable from the IVA. I created a position by the backwindow and with some good use of action groups you can stay warm and dry in your cockpit. I have to add one more camera for the "releasing" part, you will see why. For demonstration I recorded a mission to release a telescope probe in HKO. Still a lot of texturing needed on the IVA, but (slowly) getting there.

Works in the 3D world now but in the VAB it moves in the opposite direction.
  18. Hi Sirkut, I think I have found a little bug. translateAxis = 0, 1, 0 This works correctly in the VAB, but once loaded into the 3D world the Y axis gets inverted.
  19. Also works the other way around. Playing too much KSP will kill your marriage. Don't consider this as a warning but take it as an advice.
  20. I think the STS itself won't change that much. Yes the new model is a one piece and some little model/texture stuff is fixed/added but most of the updates is in the new stuff being added like the 747 and launch pad. Correct me if I'm wrong Mike? As for the IVA (I don't know if you are waiting for that as whell) I have to be honest and say that its going to take a while before it is going to be released. I think the rest will be finished by then so its probably going to be a seperate release.
