  1. Last time I went on the wiki it was trying to sell me all sorts of stuff; is the spam issue fixed?
  2. Allow me to give you a big thanks. I eventually found the value in the orbit simulator\'s thread, it was labeled keostationary orbit; so I now know why I could not find it.
  3. These are fantastic, I hope there are more to come! How about comparing Kerbol to Canis Majoris? If you can create a large enough image...
  4. What altitude is needed for geostationary orbit? I have already searched the forums, but the altitudes described were different leaving me quite confused.
  5. The KSP forum is seeing a large increase in new visitors, what this means is that they are not well acquainted with the general requirements when making a challenge thread. So rather than waiting for them to learn, I thought it would be easier to have a template ready and stickied. Heres my suggestion, but I doubt it\'s perfect so suggestions are wanted. Before you argue \'proof of completion\' and \'allowed parts\' are parts of the rules, I included them separately to ensure they were included by the thread maker.
  6. Make sure to post your mods on the Projects and Release subforum, because I\'ll be very happy to see them when they are finished. Anyway, welcome to the forums!
  7. Your design inspired me to construct my own VTOL cargo ship. I present to you, the Quad-Bike: Its performance is exceptional, it is perfect for crossing uneven terrain, and landing on it too. Just to prove this, I landed on an island that no plane could ever stop on. Then I was able to return back to the launchpad after dropping my cargo.
  8. As some advice for next time: [li]Outline the objective clearly, 'Start a moon base' is a little brief.[/li] [li]List the allowed part packs[/li] [li]List the rules, what can and can\'t be done[/li] [li]Check if there are any existing challenges like your own[/li]
  9. I got close to 210 points, but unfortunately I was unable to obtain a stable orbit.
  10. Flying that speed at that altitude, must of been quite the spectacle.
  11. It went a little faster than 500 m/s, but I am sure I can break it. Just remember that this is at about 750m above sea level, so the air is much thicker.
  12. You call these rockets Kerbal? I\'ll show you what a real Kerbalized rocket(plane) is: It is a rocket that uses SRBs for landing gear, it\'s a rocket that breaks the sound barrier in the lowest atmospheric level; on the edge of what is possible and what is plain stupid. That is what a true Kerbalized rocket is.
  13. Reminds me of the time when my Grandfather called it \'Sponge-cake Bob-pants\'. On topic, I\'m not sure if this is relevant in general discussion, but you have to remember that not every pony shoves it down your throat. Think of it like religion: some hide it, some subtly show it and others will desperately try and convert you. Even if the entire thing sounds like bollocks to you, it would be wrong to class them all the same.
  14. I\'m not sure if having the SRBs engines facing the cockpit is an entirely sane idea, but a kerbal one none the less.
  15. Welcome to the KSP forums! Happy Launching! Arrr! Capt\'n Squeal
  16. Hertfordshire, England. I live is a small rural town near the border with Essex, there isn\'t really much interesting for a kid here.
  17. This may be a re-post, but I\'m sure its relevant!
  18. This is most likely the wrong place, but is there a guide to making parts in sketch-up?
  19. An interesting design, however because it is not re-usable; I don\'t see much advantage over the regular rocket.
  20. I had a quick try, the results were not too bad. Since when was \'Make my avatar\' a reward?. Sure, you can get away with a competition for a little artwork, but the reward is another job! Hah, I don\'t mean to be rude, but I think you should get of your lazy ass and make your own!
  21. The design of that rocket is truly brilliant! Maybe a little excessive, so very kerbal.
  22. I find it quite amusing that before I found KSP and my interest for rockets, I would always imagine the Russian rockets as something badly built in some shed, and the American\'s rockets more precise and accurate. Then again, I was quite young.
  23. Well done! Any idea how high it went?
