  1. Here is the Craft file: http://wikisend.com/download/388334/Hawk I Cargo test.craft Althou i have several Mods installed, most notably: SETI (for the radial Science Experiments) and FAR. The Equipment is very centered around a Beam inside the Cargo bay, so there schould not be a Problem with the Sphere, so im kind of clueless. cheers
  2. I can conform that the fix doesent work for me. I have a Spaceplane with some mystery goos and material bays inside a mk2 Cargobay small and they overheat very very fast. Playing with Kerbal Construction Time SSTOs are very important, so this bug really annoys me. How do parts overheat? if i edit the goo container to not have any drag, could that be a temporary solution for the problem? EDIT: What i did notice, when editing a save file and looking at a specific crat which has a cargobay, i cant find any lookupradius or drag sphere of the cargobay part. The only modules on the parts are: PART { name = mk2CargoBayS cid = 4294568996 uid = 1620959657 mid = 4223273479 launchID = 107 parent = 0 position = 0,-2.18750166893005,2.60770491422591E-07 rotation = 0,0,0,1 mirror = 1,1,1 symMethod = Radial istg = 0 dstg = 0 sqor = -1 sepI = 0 sidx = -1 attm = 0 srfN = , -1 attN = top2, -1 attN = bottom2, -1 attN = top, 0 attN = bottom, 3 mass = 0.25 temp = 248.415802390051 tempExt = 249.804332355903 expt = 0.5 state = 1 connected = True attached = True flag = Squad/Flags/default rTrf = mk2CargoBayS modCost = 0 EVENTS { } ACTIONS { } PARTDATA { } MODULE { name = ModuleAnimateGeneric isEnabled = True status = Locked animSwitch = False animTime = 1 animSpeed = 1 EVENTS { Toggle { active = True guiActive = True guiActiveEditor = True guiIcon = Toggle guiName = Open category = Toggle guiActiveUnfocused = True unfocusedRange = 5 externalToEVAOnly = True } } ACTIONS { ToggleAction { actionGroup = None } } } MODULE { name = GeometryPartModule isEnabled = True EVENTS { } ACTIONS { } } MODULE { name = FARAeroPartModule isEnabled = True EVENTS { } ACTIONS { } } MODULE { name = FARPartModule isEnabled = True EVENTS { } ACTIONS { } } } is it possible that the functionality in the original part cfg is not applied on constructed ships or are they simply not inside the save file? cheers
  3. damn your right, that is a SETI funtionality. That explains a lot thanks!
  4. Hi! playing the game loads and loads since 0.24 i got used to having a simple multipurpose Smaller-Moon Lander with all the science equipment one needs. i used to put a Science Lab in low orbit of the mun and collect all the data, bring it to the lab and then cleaning the mystery goos and material bays. Then (when i have all the data from all bioms) i fly my lab home and get the data to Kerbins surface. Building as usual in 1.0.4 poses a little problem now tho: i cant transfer the mystery goo and materials bay experiments anywhere. I just noticed that there is a "collectable" flag not checked with those two. So am i correct that there is no way of retrieving the data to its full potential without landing the Container itself? If thats the case: if i am, say around Tylo right now, my mission-science ratio will take a serious hit, right? How do you guys handle that change? Doesn't this kind of nullify the use of the "clean experiment"? greez
  5. holy .... you are heroes! I was just wondering why my 1.0.4 Version runs more slowly than my 0.25 version (same mods) and was thinking about falling back to 0.25. You sirs are 1.0.4 saver :-) gonna do some testing with the dev Version immediatly
  6. Ive an issue with structural failure on load. I have a station which launches and orbits fine. I have 4 Beams with tightly placed Solarpanels (1x6) which extend and perform fine in-flight. if i change vessel and then change back however the panels and the beam have a structural failure: [LOG 19:58:41.767] [00:07:46]: Structural failure on linkage between OX-4L 1x6 Photovoltaic Panels and M-Beam 200 I-Beam Pocket Edition. and all other panels beak too. Admitting this really look quite beautiful :-), my station becomes useless after it. As i searched the forums i found structural failure only connected to FAR, but i could be wrong. Here are some pics what happens: 1 Pic when everything was fine, 2-7 after switching back to the station. http://imgur.com/lMhRRpZ,YqoBbVb,pItdXYh,PDPoWZf,EV3OpVn,SPxXy6M,omnrecV It seems to me that on load the physic is not applied instantly. When i change to a vessel it seems the camera starts centric to where the center of the vessel is and THEN moving to the center of mass. Maybe the centering applies a force which is calculated by FAR even in that situation. If this wild guess is the case, a kind of delay to calculate the forces after load could do the trick right? (like 1 2 seconds or some frames) if its not at all connected to FAR please forgive me for bothering you guys. Then i guess i just have to build my vessel a little differend and more stable here is some extract from my log, if it help. 7. well it did fix it but after 30 mins i have the same problem again. the "fix" is restarting ksp all 30 mins. this bugs me a little and i was wondering if someone else has that problem
  8. Hi guys, I hav an install with lots of different mods and im experiencing a weired problem: after some play time (about 30 minutes or so) when i select parts from the parts tab the selecting lags quite a bit. It takes about a second until the part has been selected and i can fir it onto my rocket. Oddly when i copy and paste it from my rocket it works just fine. my ksp takes about 2.4 GB ram so it shouldent be a problem. Additionally i dont have frame drops when flying or doing anything else. It seem strange to me that the performance drops when i select a part. After a ksp restart everything works fine again, so im guessing iots some kind of Problem with objects not being destructed properly. The only mod i can imagine hooking into the part-selection is KCT. DOes anone else have a problem like that and has figured out a solution or tracked it to a mod? thx best regards
  9. Hi, Loving the new Station Contracts and am about to build a 9 Kerbal Station. Now, i understand the lab counts towards the 9 Kerbal count. But do i have to put the station up in one piece? Or can i assemble it piece by piece and still get the contract done? i plan to put a command capsule and science lab first and then add the Habitation modules in the second launch. Is it possible? Also if i have a station with say 3 Kerbals prior to the contract, can i just add 6 more Kerbal spaces and get the contract done? thx in advance
  10. wow awesome thats exactly what i was looking for. thx man! - - - Updated - - - @RainDreamer: true the unit cost ist very high, but before having the capabilities to flyto and from eve or eloo i would have to grind loads and loads of cash via a bunch of contracts.
  11. Dear KSP fanatics, I love the new KSP Version and the contracts (AND the awesome Contract Packs too!). But inevitable the contracts get boring. Or at least too time intensive (building a station around eve for example). also having build a Station i dont want to build one again. So im looking for another way to make cash. My Idea is the following: Im using Karbonite to refuel my Spacecrafts. WOuldnt it be possible to imagine KArbonite is a very valuable resource even if available on nearly every planet? I would like to increase the Price of the Karbonite itself, so that the challange would be to mine the resource and fly it back to KSC to get the money with the return value of the Resource. Only thing is: I have no clue where i can change the price of the resource itself in the PArt configs. Can you guys help me out? Where do i change the Resourceprice? greez
  12. Since first using KAS i never play KSP without it AWESOME! That said i think i have some kind of Bug. Im not really sure if it is a Bug of KAS or TweakScale. I often send out a Spaceplane to refit various Ships. These planes often have some Containers on it ( a b it doesent matter). Wenn collecting stuff out of it and strutting or refitting other ships something weired happens: The Containers start to rescale! It happens mor often that not when there is an autosave or a quicksave, but it does happen occasionally just at random. Usually only when i control a Kerbal. Ist this a know Bug? Does it maybe help to remove the Teakscape settings for KAS? thx in advance
  13. Hiya. Awesome mod! I really enjoy the Missions including the historical ones. I do have the issue with timer. Not that its game breaking or anything, but it happens to me very often that the "stay in orbit" timer gets stuck on another Vessel. For example: i lauched Skylab3 mission to dock do things and stay 59 days. While waiting for the rendevouz i switched to another vessel to pass the time and do other things. Suddenly the timer appeared at that Vessel not the Skylab Mission Vessel. Sadly the craft with the timer on it does not have enough life support to endure 59 days (using TAC life support). Is the Mission a failure? Can the timer be somehow stuck onto another vessel? I tried docking with the skylab Mission craft with the skylab and re-setting it via the debug menu to the skylab craft. But the timer still is on the other craft... any suggestions? thx for that great mod! greez
  14. Hello everyone, Im useing Kerbonite as a means to produce fuel. I made some tweaks on the parts so that extraction is a long process and takes weeks to months to fill a tank with 1600 units of space (with one drill that is). So i build me a big Kerbonite rig with lots of drills and im loving it. The next thing i want to do, is have a seperate refinery for my fuel production project. I could just build it next to my rig and go on with the converting but i want the refinery to be in Orbit around the Planet (for some reason ). The Problem is, i cant think of a reason why i would do that (other than i want it) I adjusted the converters so i can fill 2 Tank(LFO) with 1 Tank(Kerbonite) of the same size, so it is a good idea to ship the lighter karbonite up to space before it gets converted. Im not a physicist but im pretty sure that that solution is scientific nonsense. Converting 1 pound through some mysterious Process to 2 pounds. So now im looking for ideas, how i can force myself to build a Orbital refinery, without resorting to some magical conversion :-D I would appriciate any (half) plausible suggestions greez
  15. Hi awesome work! Ive got a question about the rescaling tho: Im using Karbonite and i want Huge Drills so that i have to build some kind of Oil Platform to support it. Easy enough i added tweakscale config to the drill and it works like a charm. I read that TweakScale "supports" Karbonite. What exactly does that mean? do drills which are rescaled (2.5 to 5 m) drill more/faster and drain more energy? If so, can i turn that off? So that tweakscale only tweaks the mass of the drills? thx for that extremely useful mod :-) cheers
  16. Hey RoverDue Been changing some of the Drills and allow twaekscale to make them 5m. And i have to say with 100T it seems really like an Oilplatform :-D excatly what i was lokking for. I have a proble tho: when i cahnge the TS config to @PART[KA_Drill_125_01]:FOR[Karbonite]:NEEDS[TweakScale] { MODULE { name = TweakScale scaleFactors = 5 scaleNames = 5m type = stack } } it stops working. I wanted to force the 5m size an not just be able to scale it any size i want. Whats wrong with that config? The next thing i tried is decreasing the drillamount to a very very slow extractionRateLandPerTon = 0.1 Filling a big tank takes months, so exactly what i was looking for :-) The problem is the Station has to be active to be harvestin Kerbonite. My question is: is it difficult to implement the feature to lket kerbonite be harvested while not focused on the ship itself? ist that a feature you have planned? or do i have to dig in into the source code of kerbonite and look at TAC life support for methods of producting ressources while away? greez
  17. @sal_vager exactly like im plaing the game right now ;-) except for the Kethane to kerbin method @regex true ORS is awsome and pretty easy to manipulate. @RoverDude Youre absolutely right! I will get into them Tweak scale configs and have a look how easy it is :-) also changing the conversion rates of the Kerbonite converters seems by the look of it pretty simple too
  18. Hi People, Im a long Term Ksp Lover :-) and have tried many of the awesome Mods out there. I love MKS/OKS for the complexity and challange to setup a fully functioning base. Tac Life Support for a little bit realism and motivation to look at the time for a change :-). Interstellar, KEthane Scansat Deadly reentry for additional awesomeness :-D But currently im looking for a Mod that does allow me to refuel my ships in a very specific way. Interstellar (AWESOME mod) and Kerbonite kind of bug me, because ive the feeling i dont have to work for out of Kerbin-fuel. I always like tofly really big ships so a little lander with an refinery/Drill/Converter is easy to outfit and take with me. Ive got the feeling of getting easy and free fuel for very very little investment. Kethane, while awesome because the deposits are exhaustable, has the same problem: i take a little Kethane Lander/converter and a scanner with me and can refuel almost anywhere in very little time. The thing im looking for is the following: - A Resource which is NOT present on EVERY planet. It does not nescessarily needs to be exthausable but it would be awesome. - The way its extracted should need some serious equipment. Im talking about a real Factory or destillery or the construction of an Oil Platform Sized Station. Its just too convienient to have a little mobile Rover with some tanks on him and fuel a whole Fleet. OR - the mining of the Resource takes very very long. The timespan im talking about is this: filling a Half Rockomax tank in 1 Kerbal Month. If you are using some LifeSupport mod you will have to worry about your Kerbals dying before you have enough Fuel to get back. I love the idea of fueling up somewhere else than Kerbin and the mods out there are awesome, but i cant shake the feeling of getting free fuel. so my Question: is there a Mod out there which matches my "needs" a little bit? Or a little tutorial for maybe decreasing the drillamount of the Kethanedrill? best regards
