I use LOTS of mods.. NovaPunch Remix Pack is one I use a lot of. JellyCubes Advanced Weapons R&D - Weapons and Other Miscellanea for some fun stuff. [PLUGIN, PART 0.14+] Carts v1.32 + Mün Rover & RCS from Tosh. Obviously there are a lot more. Just go poke around in the addons section.
My mistake.. I had 2 versions of this plane, I have now uploaded the entirely stock version as the SM-03-S. As far as landing the hard part is slowing enough to land safely, but it is possible. I have also reversed the direction of the front landing gear and lowered the rear landing gear somewhat to aid in safer landings. I will be updating the non-stock version with these changes shortly.
I was messing around with my Shovel-Nose design and stumbled into this. It may be the best flying plane I have ever made.
The SM-03 requires MechJeb, the Spidertech Ramjet and JellyCubes modular missiles. The SM-03-S is all stock parts. To take of with updated versions: Throttle up then pitch up until the front wheels are no longer on the ground. Return to neutral pitch and it should lift off.
Normally I make planes that fold or odd contraptions. Today I thought I\'d try my hand at making a \'regular\' plane. This is the result

Using whatever mods you would like (Gaby\'s Submarine P.O.C. is required) launch a rocket from the bottom of the sea floor that can achieve orbit. -OR- Using whatever mods you would like (Gaby\'s Submarine P.O.C. is required) launch a plane from the sea floor that is capable of landing back on the runway (at least near it!!) at KSC 2.
Make sure they are locked to angles and mirrored, place it so it looks like one wing on top of the plane and use you angle keys (a,s,d,q,w,e) to rotate the wings.
So, I was thinking about tail rotors. Would it be possible to set them up basically as a bi-directional rcs, and just give it a nifty animated rotor model? Is it possible to make RCS work using normal fuel? Seems like this would make a pretty easy solution to tail rotors.
Yes, it works for hinges. The connection between the truss and the trailer in this video (the yellow hinge you can see a couple of times) is set to this in the cfg // toggle parameters rotateJoint = True rotateAxis = 1, 0, 0 keyRotateSpeed = 20.0 rotateLimits = True rotateMin = -90.0 rotateMax = 90.0 rotateLimitsRevertKey = False jointSpring = .00001 jointDamping = .00001 onActivate = False rotateKey = up revRotateKey = down fixedMesh = Base servoName = New Hinge
