  1. LMAO!!!! Really, this one really gave me a kick lol. I'm writing this and laughing at the same time..... hehe...
  2. Ever heard of Amazon Associates program? If you own a website or you do youtube videos or publish content on a blog, you can monetize your content by providing a special link that will generate income for you. Been an Affiliate for example, of KSP, you can make video reviews, post blog reviews, video tutorials, well, its all about your own creativity. You then provide a special link where people click to buy the game, when they do that, if they buy the game, you get a small percentage of that transaction. @ Red Iron Crown Thank you for the link, I already sent a email.
  3. Thank you for your reply. I made my submission a couple months ago then I did another one. Since no one from Squad ever replied to me I was wondering. Sorry for making the thread in the general ksp, did not know were to put this. Fly safe.
  4. Greetings, Is the Affiliate system working? I already went to the site and fill up a form, then I receive a email saying they will contact me soon. Is the affiliate system already in place or is something that Squad is still working to be released? Thank you.
  5. Probably too often! I usually start over after a update, which is good but also frustrating because I did not do half of what I was planing. I always play career with science and money, so my gaming tends to take a lot of time to be able to go to another planet. I am very sad that I never left Kerbin to other planet, because with the mods I use that make the game more realistic, like life support, remote tech and others, my progression is very slow. I also use the stage recover mod, were I have to plan my rockets very careful to be able to recover them and save the most funds I can get. This involves of 95% of the rocket to have parachutes everywhere and precise ejection stages. Believe it or not, KSP updates more faster then I can progress, but it is also true that I do not play KSP everyday. I do have other couple games that take too much of my time because they are online and I belong to organized clans. In any case, with each failure, each update, each mission, my experience is getting better and better to plan ahead when I start over.
  6. What he said! Crashes, corrupted saves that make me starting a new career (frustration) , bad calculations of Dv, rockets that seam they are stable just explode on launch, rockets that flip over for no apparent reason (annoyed), my 25 tons supper lander lol, manages to land on the mum and come back to Kerbin after a successful mission (happy). Be able to say: I am glad I bought KSP!
  7. Building and flying a stable aircraft. I can pretty much build and fly a efficient rocket, ok, I am not using stock ksp, I do use mods that help me in other areas like mechjeb, but building a good aircraft it is my worst thing. I can build them, I can even land them at KSC, but dam, there is always something happening that they never get stable no matter how much videos I see and building tutorials I read.
  8. While many people here wants more content, new parts, new stuff, in my honest opinion, mods, already do that. What I really wish for the new version is a stable game to play, modded or not. This implies fixing memory leaks, frame rate (this is the worst thing in KSP) and crashes. I ask you please, pretty please, make KSP the most stable you can do before releasing anything else. I understand people wanting more stuff in the game, but think about it, what use have more parts or more content in the game if it crashes or give some weired bugs? So, fix the bugs, improve stability and this I think everyone agrees, improve frame rate.
  9. Thank you very much. I do not use FAR, I already have too much work in my career game with many of the mods I use. I will test the wings angle and see how it goes in a "stock" aerodynamics way.
  10. Hi all. Can someone explain to me in simple terms (I am not technical enough for high math stuff but I do understand simple physics concepts) the effects of angles in wings in a aircraft. Consider this to apply to KSP and not to real life since the physics on KSP are different. So, usually wings on a aircraft are at 90º perpendicular to the center body of the aircraft, something like this -----O----- . What are the effects of lower the angle a few degrees for example, lower the angle near the ground (best example I can think of is the X-302 mentioned in Stargate SG1). Also, whats the effect if it's the opposite? Is there any advantages using different angles or not really? Hope I am making myself clear. Thank you.
  11. Since it seams when 1.0 gets here more things are going to be introduced, I will probably start a new career game. Also, I am expecting new parts with 1.0, so I wonder if the current designs become obsolete.
  12. It's not the game, it's some people that go follow others because they do not have any self control. - - - Updated - - - Just remembered one thing: This Thread is useless...
  13. I try to make my rockets efficient and visually...hmmm.....maybe not very appealing but symmetric, that for me, have some appeal and it becomes more efficient. So for example, what I put in the right side, I also put in the left. Since I use lots of mods to make my KSP real as possible (in a way I consider real for a space game). Of course some things can not, and do not have any point of been symmetric, I do not put 3 extending ladders for visual because I have one in the side of the airlock. I think when a rocket is balance in terms, not only in Dv but also in terms of not falling to one side because of CoM, it becomes visually appealing. This does not mean putting weird stuff on a side of a rocket to make the CoM getting in the middle!
  14. To be honest, I saw the title of this thread and I was thinking about complaining, but then I started to think "complain about what?". Any complains that I could have about the game, are probably, the most complains that any KSP player have and that Squad already knows the problems people complain. Sure, I would like to see the game more refined, with this or that, with this bug fix and so on, still many people that complain are forgetting something. KSP is Squad first project, due to this reason, I do not have anything to complain. It is really amazing what Squad Devs do, and there is one thing that in my honest opinion beats any other gaming company out there: Squad really listens the community and talk. On the opposite side, I already quit of buying a couple games that were in development because of no information given to the community, no news, no support, nothing. But if you really need a complain, well, I complain Squad do not have more human resources to improve the game and fix everything. Oh, yeah, I would complain about KSP 64bits, but then again why would I complain about a problem that Squad KNOWS, and in time they will fix it? Now, in less educated terms: Screw the complains and let Squad do what they do best: Keeping refining and evolving KSP. I say, go Squad go, as all of you that complain should say, go Squad go!
  15. Exactly. Look for example the Call of Duty series. When it came out it had a huge success, then we saw 2,3,4,5,6,9999999 versions. With each version better graphics and little more content. Do not take me wrong, I like CoD, but lost my interest around the squeals 2 and 3. After that is more of the same. There are many other examples out there, most games in th FPS style for example lose perspective on their content but hey, it is a new brand game with amazing graphics and explosions and so on. But what about the content? KSP for me, it is all about the game play, the mechanics of the game, and to be honest, the difficulty (even if I do not find it difficult cause I can understand the "real" physics behind it) most people that are used to play space games (that I love btw) games like the X series (not the last on it sucks), Elite (now that one spent hours and hours playing on 80's) and so on. Talking about Elite, just see when Elite was released back in the 80's where people where making text base games, and these guys came with a game with a infinity space to explore, thousands of stations and a cheated "3D" looks. That game was in black and white, made of with lines with no textures and sold thousands of copies! Why? Because was amazing. Oh and it fit on a 720kb floppy disk! KSP graphics at this moment of development are more then enough for the game. I am much more concerned in bug fixes and better new content and more game play. I really do not care about graphics at this stage. Let Squad refine the game, probably add more content with expansions or DLC's or whatever they decide and then we can worry about the graphics. We already saw that is possible, there are mods that make KSP really amazing in terms of graphics, but at this time of development I do not think KSP can handle an increase of graphics before it gets stable enough for it. The memory problems of KSP and the way KSP uses memory it's the major limitation for KSP.
  16. Stock isn't too ugly. It is simple. Like I said, game play, bug fixes and a stable 64bit is much more important. Do you want great graphics and crashes all the time or do you prefer the "ugly" stock graphics and be able to play hours and hours with no loss of frame rate and no crashes? You mention EVE Online. EVE Online do not have the capacity or the support that KSP have. EVE is around for over 10 years now and CCP is a solid company. I started playing EVE in 2003 and the graphics at that time were already very good, but been a MMO you had a lot of lag issues and in a system for example like Jita the game got so slow that was impossible to get into the system. Today EVE had a lot of changes in game play and in graphics, and even today you have issues of lag because of graphics and loss of frame rates when too much people flying around. Of course if you to null space is different. Squad is a small company and KSP is their first game. I think is commendable and amazing what Squad managed to pull for their first game. Even the Dev's already said they are learning while making KSP. They fix something or bring something new and more bugs appear. Now, of course I would love to see KSP with great graphics, stock parts with shinny textures, planets with storms, clouds, rain, etc. I would love to see the shores of KSC and see the sea waves hitting the shores, but to get to that point I think Squad needs to work in the game play itself and refine KSP to be stable. Next release they already gave us a few tips of what to come, more stuff into the game, new aerodynamic model and so on. I believe by the end of this year, maybe sooner, KSP will rock with new stuff, better stability and new graphics. Let them work slowly and well instead of rushing and make things worse or hard to fix. This is what happens with big companies like "cough cough ea" that do not care about gaming itself or the players, the only thing they care about is to get that sequel number 4 or 5 of the same game before Christmas and collect huge paychecks. When we, the fanbase, get those games, then it is 1 year of patches and updates to fix things that should be fixed in the development of a game. Rushing the real people that makes a game is the worst thing for us, not for a company, they just see numbers $$$, this also forces a cut in the creativity of many Dev's working for big companies. I am really glad Squad isn't like that. To quote one of the greatest:
  17. Every computer is different. Today is more easier to have a game running with so many different hardware, there are more compatibility that was, let's say in the 90's. KSP running 100% stock is stable, at least for me. I played for hours the stock game 32bit and 64 bit with no crashes and runs pretty well. While many people have problems with game (I also have, I explain in a while) 2 things must be considered: 1- The type of hardware and OS (Win, Mac, linux) 2- Mods. Mods at this moment on KSP is the sure way to kill the game. Also, I think it is bad thing from Unity to have to load every single thing into the memory. Sure we do not want loading screens when transfer to another planet, but there must be a better way to load everything the game needs in a particular situation of what the player is doing. While many games still uses 32bit access, the engine of those games are better developed to use the video card. KSP is too much CPU intensive, at least for me that I have a "old" AMD Dual core. But hey, I can play amazing graphical games pretty well and I do not even have a powerful video card (HD7770). Unity, probably is aware of this, so I hope in the future we see the engine take advantage of 64 bit for memory allocation and a better use of Video cards technology and VRAM of that same video cards. Textures, graphics, and stuff like that should not be processed by the CPU like it is today in the case of KSP. If I alt-tab KSP, I can hardly do anything else because the CPU is around 90% of usage, while in other games with great graphics I do the same thing and I can watch youtube videos and so on. Even if Unity gets out of beta this year (probably will) I doubt that Squad will jump ahead right away. Changing to a new engine can cause all sort of problems and create new bugs. This is probably something Squad must do when the new engine is free of bugs and stable. Maybe is because of that, the 64bit KSP have not see any development. I say, give it some time, I bet that by the end of this year everyone of us will be amazed with KSP.
  18. I do not think KSP graphics are outdated. They are simple, I can agree on that, and they are not that bad, I do think they fit the "Kerbal way" of the game nicely. Space Engineers graphics to be honest, are nothing special, sure they good for a block construction game, but then again it's not a Farcry or something like that. The Forest I never play it, saw some videos and...well... nothing amazing too, they are good for the game. If you tell me, that KSP could be a bit better in terms of graphics, sure. We could have better textures, wind effects, clouds and stuff like that. But to be perfectly honest, I do hope Squad do not make the graphics a priority. For me the biggest priorities in the game are bug fixes (high priority!) and a stable 64bit. The game is already slow and too much CPU dependent and memory dependent. Unity engine need to be better and take better advantage of the many stuff video cards can do today (and I am not even consider Windows 10 and DX 12) To be honest, screw the graphics, get me better physics that make sense, fix the bugs, get the game stable for future updates and releases, then we can worry about graphics. We already saw that it is possible, there are mods out there that do amazing things, but when I have a PC that I can play graphical intense games in a "good" way and KSP engine is so bad that when I get a few mods the frame rate drops like hell, then I say, no more graphical stuff to be nice, lets fix this problem. For me the answer is 64bit version and Unity making a better management of resources. After all, in today's technology the CPU's of our PC's (do not matter if you using mac or linux or whatever) are less important then a a good video card. The same PC build with a 1GB VRAM behaves one way. Put a 3 or 4GB VRAM card on the same PC and you have almost a 90% new PC. Of course a CPU is important, even more if games use that for advantage. Look for example Bioshock: the game looks great, it is a 64 bit game, great graphics and runs pretty well in this old PC with a HD7750 video card! In contrast, KSP 32bits give me so much work to play that sometimes I just want to scream!!!! Game play, bug fixes, stable game first. Graphics latter...much latter... not in a hurry.
  19. Thank you. I asked about it on the MKS/OKS thread and one guy also told me that. Never used Scansat, always saw it a bit complicated. Well I guess it is time to learn. I miss the old bubbles lol.
  20. Hello, I remember when previous versions of KSP, I could see the orange bubbles of the resources to mine. I already tried everything but when I use the scanners (KA-100 Detection Array / Planetary Survey Camera) for example on Kerbin or the Mun, nothing shows up. When I right click on the scanners I only see the info in the form of % amount per biome or in general. I do not know if I screw something with other mods on my KSP install or something else changed in the mod or in CRP. If there is anyone there that uses MKS/OKS MODS can you please confirm or deny that something changed in the mod and the bubbles are gone, or something is wrong with my mods installation or I screw something. Thank you. Tech. data: Windows 7 64bits Running KSP 32bits. Mods: All mods are up to date except Regolith that a new version came out today. I know this because KSP-AVC told me. But this thing already goes for a while.
  21. Ok. Stripes and lines are different. Ok, I got the red line on the top. I guess that's to say which side is the top. To be honest, I prefer the red arrows telling me "this krap above will get kick out!" Is it possible to revert only this to stock? I don't know "krap" (trying to talk like kerbals lol) bout config files and so on. I just use the mods. Thank you.
  22. Well I do not see any red stripes, just the normal stock stripes. About the capsule, that explains it. It's cool by me even if I do not use FAR. Ty.
  23. Greetings, First, let me say a BIG THANK YOU Ven for this mods. Really rocks. I cannot believe that I play KSP so long without it. After making a new install of KSP, and installing all my usual mods like I do, now I have a small graphics glitch that never happen before. The red arrows on the decouplers do not show up. They do not show up on the part selection menu, on the research, in the part assembled in the VAB or in flight. It is not a big deal to be honest, cause after playing for so long I know where they are pointing, but it is kinda annoying. I already deleted your mod, and copied it again but no luck. Also, I was getting a graphical problem due to texture replacer, and I cannot figure whats going on since I always use it for the reflections and the suits. Now, I think there might be some conflict. I could not click the recover button cause the dropdown menu was glitching and when I tried to go to the KSC and try to recover on tracking station the ship were gone the kerbal died. I removed texture replacer and it stop but I think I might have something to do with the way I installed the mods. Any thoughts how to get that red arrow on the decouplers? Thank you. Keep up the good work! p.s. oh before I noticed the mk-1 pod were sitting perfectly on the tanks, but now I can see that small curve between the pod the tanks again. Did the mod changed or did I mess something? How to find out?
  24. Yea, I noticed that most crashes are when you start to build up big, or have at least been using the PC for a while playing a rocket with lots of parts. It is kinda strange, this happen to me about 2 hours after I started a new career game. I just made 2 upgrades, launch pad and the VAB to get some flexibility in building. I got a contract where I have to test some part from MKS/OKS mod in orbit, those things are a bit heavy (about 6tons) and since I just have tier 1 rockets and stuff I need to put several stages and radial engines and boosters to lift the stuff up. I am getting around... hmm... maybe 40 to 50 parts more or less, cannot remember, but the clock on time warp is already yellow on launch then flips green yellow on orbit, so that means the fps are getting lower. I do think this is the problem. The game gets too slow and some stuff cannot keep up. I do not have memory problems, usually never hits the top. - - - Updated - - - Just add up: Is it me or 0.25 were more stable then 0.90? Never had this kind of stuff on 0.25.
  25. Hello all, I know I have to write all the mods I use and so on, but, I play with the same mods for a long time and never had a problem. Now, after a new installation of KSP, (had to format my PC) I usually copy the steam install to another place and leave the steam install 100% stock. I have 2 problems, one, a small issue a graphic problem that does not bug me much. I use a mod Stock Part Revamp never had a problem but it seams something is missing. For example I do not have the red arrows on the decouplers. :S Now, I have random crashes after a while. Usually when I click revert or recover. It does not happen a lot but after a while the game crash. I have the output_log.txt (dropbox) and I do not understand krap of it. Can someone please tell me what cause the crash? I'm running ksp 32bit on Win7- 64bit If you guys start kicking my butt about the list of mods I will update the thread (dam I'm lazy ) Thank you.
