  1. You're not racist- just stating an unfair fact about the admissions process. You can see in my sig the extracurricular activities I'm in- I'm also in a SeaPerch competition class- engineering. What supplemental tests are you referring to? - - - Updated - - - Can you explain a little more about this to me?
  2. It seems the USAF had a fetish for silver planes in the 50's-60's. The SB2C Helldiver- Actually, I hate it. Crews called it the "Son of a B****, 2nd Class" for its awful flying characteristics- especially near the stall.
  3. 27! The song by Bowie comes to mind- "Higher, higher, HIGHER!!!! LA LA LA LA!"
  4. twenty 3! If we keep this going, we might get up to 50 b4 the pessimists come back.
  5. Where and where? Sounds interesting.
  6. So my dad teaches at Drexel. Law and as an Adjunct Prof, to be sure, but he teaches there. I'm looking into their 1-week engineering program this summer. A 4.0 I don't have, more like 3.5-ish. What is an SAT 2? My school does not have any AP classes- we're too small. Thoughts?
  7. I'm looking to become an aerospace engineer. But... where should I go to school? Right now, I'm not looking at colleges based on anything other than engineering programs. Here's where you come in: if you're in aerospace (or other fields in) engineering, where did you go to school? Where do you work now? What are other tips you have regarding schools to go to? If you're not an aerospace engineer, what are your suggestions? What did you find helpful? I'm in 11th grade, so this is a considerable part of my college search. Please help me! Thanks in advance!
  8. yeah, 4500 is roughly the lower limit. I hope you haven't been taking my comments as criticism. They were intended in a friendly spirit, and without testing the craft yet, I found it slightly hard to believe it could make orbit. That's a problem I've got with the interweb- there is no "tone" in comments, like the way you convey meaning face to face- a smiling raised eyebrow, for example. I'll double check your score, but I think you've got it right. So, 1st place to you! For now... who else is gonna try? EDIT: your score is 4,381.757. I think you forgot to multiply the seconds by 10.
  9. Foxster: Ok. I will try the craft. At a glance, though, it looks like 5000 delta-V is a little much. Until I try it, your entry will go on hold. The point of rule 1 is to make participants use map view to pilot and their engineering skills to build, instead of having the calculations done for them. Rule 3 refers to the Debug menu- I'll change that in the OP. The tonnage is not supposed to have a large impact on score. It's mainly to see how quickly you can get to the lowest possible stable orbit. The only time the mass will really come into play is if there are two crafts with equal times and orbits- a tie-breaker. The altitude is in Km, and x20 to make it have an effect on the score. The importance is 1) Altitude 1.5) Time 2) Size.
  10. Foxster, the end probe looks good, but where's the rest of the ship? I like the entry, but it breaks rules 1 and 3. Try a different launcher.
  11. -4 NO IT WON'T!!! and uncaps... so anticlimactic.
  12. I think you've broken a rule, but I'm not sure....
  13. Huh. For trying to describe your avatar, I get the message moderated. I wish the forum wasn't so strict, but I appreciate the reasons for it.

  14. It looks like a jewish star on the front, the object looks like sputnik, and the boy is wearing a kippah.

  15. Chuck. Chuck Kerman. I used him for plane testing, and his persistence file had BadS= True. He died after bailing out over water.
  16. It is odorless, colorless, and can dissolve almost any poison. Excessive amounts can lead to lung failure.
