  1. Well, we\'re getting the ability to write .dll files to make custom part types, and I\'d imagine that we\'d be able to hook into things such as throttle control, vertical velocity, and fuel amounts.
  2. I was considering doing that, although I would need to figure out what values and calculations I would need. It\'d be faster to tailor it to the craft, but it\'d be better if you could write it to work with any craft.
  3. Nice building! Looks like it\'d be hard to set down without building the rocket around it, though.
  4. It\'s the same guy - he\'s said that he\'s only Winter Owl on Youtube because someone took White Owl. That being said, I\'ve been following his play of it, and it\'s worth watching, even if you (like me) have no interest in playing the game.
  5. LukeTim, the problem with your statements is that fast-food places like McDonald\'s get their products at the lowest cost possible, even if it means processing inedible bits of carcasses so they can stretch their already low-grade meat further. Your comparison to the food in a gourmet restaurant doesn\'t really fit, since those use high-quality products in their foods instead of something that\'s been designated as unfit for human consumption.
  6. Someone posted about it in the off-topic board of a forum for a Minecraft mod.
  7. This thread reminds me of a movie I had to see in a health class - 'Supersize Me'. Essentially, it\'s a documentary made in 2004 about a guy in perfect health on a normal diet who goes on a McDonald\'s diet for a month. A clip from it:
  8. There\'s a 'Projects and Releases' board in the 'Addon Making' section, where you can find all the addons that people have put up for download. There are some sites dedicated to KSP mods, although they won\'t have everything (and you\'d find links to them in threads on the 'Projects and Releases' board).
  9. The yellow/green markers represent your movement (the circle is the direction you\'re heading in, the other is the opposite), and the pink ones point you to and away from the space center.
  10. Yes - there\'s a video on Youtube somewhere where a person did just that. Don\'t remember just what it did, though.
  11. How are you trying to open it? The proper way to use a .craft is by dropping it in your /Ships directory in your KSP folder, and open it by loading it in-game (either in the VAB or by clicking the launch pad while in the Space Center view).

    Windows 8

My only gripe (so far) with 8 is the new 'metro' UI. If I wanted a UI like that, I\'d buy a smartphone or a tablet - it\'s designed to be used with a touchscreen, not a mouse.
  13. I misunderstood your second question - I read it as building a jet aircraft for some reason. The tutorials came before C7 started releasing the experimental parts, so they weren\'t included. If you want to have an underslung engine (like you see on commercial airliners), you\'d have to put a pylon on a wing, attach a nacelle, put a liquid fuel engine on the back of the nacelle, and attach a fuel line from the fuselage to the nacelle. The intakes are purely aesthetic, and they have minimal impact on the performance of your craft.
  14. As I\'m not at a computer that can handle KSP right now, I\'ll do my best to answer your questions. Suggestion: post screenshots so people aren\'t downloading blindly. 1. Without testing it, it\'s hard to say. 2. Check out White Owl\'s tutorials. 3. It\'s on the page for C7\'s Aviation pack (the one that\'s titled 'C-7 Flight Pack v2.16'). 4. See 1.
  15. You could open it up in your text editor of choice and do a search for 'part = ', and copy the name of each unique part. As long as the modder put a prefix that denotes what pack it\'s from (like how C7 puts 'C7A' in front of his experimental parts), it shouldn\'t be too hard to figure it out.
  16. Learn a 3D modeling program like Blender, 3ds Max, Maya, etc.
  17. Wish I had this earlier, when I was trying to fix up an old part. Guessing at the coordinates you need for attach points isn\'t fun, especially when you have to open the .cfg file, change a value, save file, open KSP to check it, find it was wrong, close KSP, and repeat until right.
  18. Someone made a command module that was a Reliant Robin - didn\'t work too well, though, since its origin was on the underside of the model, which made it unbalanced and likely to explode if you land it on its wheels. I\'ve fixed those problems for my personal use, but I\'m hesitant to distribute the modified model and .cfg without permission.
  19. I\'d suggest checking out Winter Owl\'s video tutorials - in one of them, he makes a VTOL. But, if you want a text description: Put a RCS tank somewhere on your plane, heavy linear RCS ports on the bottom, and retro RCS ports along the body. When you\'re ready to land, turn on your RCS, use your retro RCS to kill your forward momentum, and use the heavy RCS to carefully set your craft down. You\'ll have to be careful where you put your heavy ports, though, as you want the thrust to be balanced based on your craft\'s center of mass.
  20. So, some poking around in the .craft leads me to think (some of) the mods that the OP can\'t remember are the KW Challenger pack, NovaPunch, HSTW Amphibious Gear, and some pack that prefixes its parts with 'YM'. Slowly getting to the point where someone can try to find the problem by flying the thing.
  21. What mods are used in this one? I went to try it to see what the problem is, but I\'m missing parts.
