  1. I usually solve this by attaching the subassembly however it's possible, picking up the part I want to "repair" and reattaching it back where it was. It usually gets all the nodes right back. If not, just replace the part. Not a particularly elegant solution, but it works.
  2. Well, if you want to run an efficient space program, you're gonna have to send parallel missions (unless waiting 6 years for the Jool mission to come home is your jazz), which enforces hiring new crew. If you want manned missions, that is. Enforcing downtime after a mission would add realism, sure (and it's a neat idea), but the question is if that'd be a good thing right now. I don't think it would, especially with no enforced life support. If my kerbals can survive 100 years in a tight capsule on a close heliocentric orbit without any external help, they can sure as hell get in the new rocket right after returning home.
  3. LOL, what is this we both dun goofed, Ethan Vivian's seems to be the last correct -23 then EDIT: ninja'd, but a fast edit is a good edit
  4. That. And more power. You can always add more power. Not claiming that it's stable or usable, but it goes fast. Top speed 332 m/s. Doesn't have a kerbal, but there's no rule against probe vehicles. Besides, I'm not as cruel as to force a kerbal on that thing (unless he deserves it). It flipped out of control near the end, hence why it's pointing 90° vertical. Also managed to summon the Kraken a few times. An all around fun vehicle. I can surely beat this with a better design, but for now I'm too tired. I might cook something up tommorow. You guys ever managed to overheat jet engines? They produce no effective thrust, but it sure looks pretty.
  5. Leisurly, Deirdre handed documents to Eugene. kfentghr
  6. Boss? Yeah, this guy. We need him gone. He's onto us. The person below me likes monkeys
  7. Ukraine aristocrats, hiding everyone's favourite neanderthal: Dusty Nick! pwuideah
  8. If a post is incorrect, just act as if it and any posts following it aren't there. -19
  9. To me, pulling off a successful gravity slingshot is one of the most satisfying things in the game. Getting from LKO to Jool in under 1200 m/s dV spent was one of my best moments so far. (Not saying that I'm a slingshot god, or anywhere near consistently good, but when the planets align (pun intended) and you get it right, it's just the best)
  10. To me, science is a cycle of observation, theorization and experimentation. Observe a phenomenon. Theorize about it. Dis/prove the theory by experimentation. Rinse and repeat. (Not necessarily in that order - some things were theorized about first and only observed after the experiment. Some things were discovered by experimentation and explained by theories later. Still good science to me.)
  11. I believe this thread tackles the same question
  12. Or, you could (and should) do some SPH analytics. Mod free, good practice. Switch on the center of mass and center of lift markers and start draining fuel tanks (right click, drag the amount of fuel to zero). I suspect that at some point your CoM gets way behind CoL, which can cause what you described. If you make it so the CoM is behind CoL at all times, no fuel drain will cause your plane to flip. (Well, unless your fuel flow is really creative and you managed to make it vertically/horizontally asymmetrical, in which case I request pictures for inspiration and lols) Also, posting a picture of the craft and/or craft download is generally a good practice, helps us spot what's wrong instead of just guessing
  13. Granted. Ethan stops. Everybody else starts asking for Starwhip all the time. Enjoy. I wish for a good cup of cofee.
  14. -16 You have no idea what you're toying with, mortal
  15. -17 there is no ninja'd in this thread, only reverse ninja'd
