Falcon II XSP kicking it old school. -
if that was the case it would be translucent because its not connected to the vessel.

found it. the game tends to bug out when you abuse the strut tool.

how to spaceplane post v1.0
Vashts replied to Vashts's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
thanks for the help guys. is there a new intake to engine ratio? i pretty much lived by the 3 to 1 rule. it seems ram air just generates way too much drag for 3 to 1. -
i made a few space planes pre v1.0 that used the ram air/hypersonic climb method to reach orbit. these designs no longer work, and i doubt they are salvageable. not only have they lost all stability in flight, but they will not reach the speeds they used to, not even close. so what is the trick now? how do i make spaceplanes now?

using cubic octagonal struts to place RCS thrusters -
1. one shock cone is not enough. you want at least 3 units of intake air per engine (shock cones are 1.2 units) to get to sub orbital hypersonic speeds. 2. one engine, even a turbojet, may not be enough for that design. you want a TWR > 1.00 3. imo rapiers may look nice and neat, but they produce little thrust, and have a bad specific impulse on the rockets. i personally prefer turbojets/nukes/48-7s

What feature (or part/s) are you most excited and hyped for in 1.0?
