Monkey Business Rocketry - Pirate Pack v0.7.1
Capt'n Skunky replied to Capt'n Skunky's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
This is one of those rare cases where a necropost isn\'t really a problem as Dragon pointed out. At the time I first started this pack it was hard to keep up with changes in the game, so I kinda let the project idle. Cheers! Capt\'n Skunky KSP Community Manager -
Monkey Business Rocketry - Pirate Pack v0.7.1

I don\'t have the time to update this pack currently. I might give a try at updating it once the texture handling is updated to include maps. Arrr! Capt\'n Skunky -

Most games with this popularity have issues like this at launch. Could it have been better? Yes. Could it have been worse? Hell yes. People really don\'t realize what launching a game of this magnitude is like. I\'ve been on hand, as staff mind you, for a few big name game launches and they all had issues in one way or another. It\'s just when you have massive player base, the number of people experiencing issues seems larger but it\'s the same percentage wise. Most people don\'t say anything when it\'s working, only when they experience issues. I\'ve been having a blast playing solo and with my buddy. Yes, we\'ve run into login issues, I got kicked out of our game last night and my buddy didn\'t, then I couldn\'t log back in. No biggie, we both went on to do something else and will get back to it tonight. I\'ve complete confidence that Blizzard will tweak and patch the game to alleviate any issues. Arrr! Capt\'n Skunky

The main difference between now and ages past is the instant gratification that technology has brought. This has stunted the ability of today\'s youth to wait for anything longer than a few seconds. I see less and less kids able to sit still doing nothing for more than a minute or two before they start getting antsy. Also, the instant information we get these days is less about imparting the facts, like news used to do, but more about entertaining or inflaming the consumer into a specific mindset. The news media has become a tool used to manipulate and control those that consume it. There was a time when you would read or watch the news and all you got was facts, not conjecture or opinion, but the facts that were known and no more. Opinions were still there, but they were always clearly labeled as opinion such as the OpEd column of a newspaper or the commentary segment at the end of a news broadcast. That\'s all been rolled into the news itself making the value of said news worthless. This can clearly be seen by comparing a US news broadcast to one from another country such as the BBC covering US news. The slant and bias becomes glaringly obvious. The problem with saying today\'s youth won\'t be able to handle tomorrows future often fails to consider that those same youth will be many years older by then and hopefully wiser. Unfortunately, it seems less and less likely that\'s what will happen. Now... GET OFFA MY LAWN! Arrr! Capt\'n Skunky

Images wrapped in spoilers still download, it just makes the post easier to navigate, but yes, it would be nice if the OP would do so. Cheers! Capt\'n Skunky KSP Community Manager

I hate to say it, but I don\'t think our current level of technology produces powerful enough radio wave emissions to reach even the closest star. The only reason we can detect radio waves coming from outer space is they are generated by sources that produce way more power than has existed on this planet in total since it was formed. It\'s also entirely possible that this planet was visited at some point in the past and the lifeforms just went, 'Eh, another M class planet, on to the next system!' To think we are significant enough to warrant a visit from some advanced civilization takes some pretty big cajones. Also, a civilization could be advanced enough to avoid our detection while sitting in LEO. Humans make too many assumptions when thinking about alien life, when we have exactly zero experience with it. Arrr! Capt\'n Skunky
