  1. In addition to what @adsii1970 said, know that calling someone on their behaviour, effectively derailing the discussion even further, is what's called "backseat moderating" and is frowned upon as well.
  2. Interesting suggestion. What about using a specific colour for 1.2.x mods when they are moved to the outdated section? Anyway, seeing the current results of the poll, I'll be waiting for a bit for some mods to be updated (RO specifically) and will probably ask again then. I'm leaving this poll open in the meantime in case the results evolve.
  3. Ah I get it, yeah it might be a good thing to prevent a rainbow of Iron Crowns from appearing.
  4. Don't take my comment too seriously. We'll get used to the reactions as well as we got used to the "Like" system I have no doubt about this. (Though I have my word to say on the terrible designs of the reaction emotes, maybe some Kerbal-themed ones would be better?)
  5. Just out of curiosity, does the upgrade change anything on the user end?
  6. I'm assuming you are talking about the KSP Store. I just checked, everything seems to work as usual. Select your OS, your language, click Get Links, and just download whatever version you want.
  7. I'm curious to see how you reached 1910m/s since the cutoff speeds for jet engines haven't been changed recently. You need to upload your screenshot to an image hosting website such as Imgur (not account required; other hosts work fine) and then paste the image link in your post (the link ending in .png .jpg or whatever) since the forum can't host images itself.
  8. Most mods still have their earlier versions available. Mods that are hosted on GitHub or Curse probably still have releases for 1.0.5, mods that are on SpaceDock might not since releases hosted on KerbalStuff might have been lost. Also keep in mind that some mods have had several author changes and you sometimes need to dig up older release threads to find the mods you want.
  9. Hullcam VDS has two telescopes with more-than-decent levels of zoom.
  10. Just create a new thread containing only the poll. This is what I did yesterday for a question regarding the Mods Library I am maintaining, plus side is if your thread contains a poll you can add and delete questions, this means that you can keep the same "poll thread" for several question at different times.
  11. Great suggestion, I'm adding this to option 3.
  12. Just finished doing 2., now the list contains all the mods released since April! As for 3. (moving the 1.2 mods to the Outdated section) I've made a poll so that you can choose when you want it to be done. Vote here:
  13. This is just a poll for the Community Mods and Plugins Library. It's here because I can't add a poll to an existing topic. Poll is closed when I decide it is. Please comment only if you have suggestions regarding the poll options.
  14. It's not that hard, even though the equation may look a bit complex, you can reverse it using basic equation solving. Here's how you do it, starting from: v2 = GM * (2/r - 1/a) Move the GM to the LHS by dividing both sides by GM: v2/GM = 2/r - 1/a Move the 2/r to the LHS by subtracting 2/r on both sides: v2/GM - 2/r = -1/a Multiply both sides by -1 to get a positive RHS: - v2/GM + 2/r = 1/a Finally, take the inverse on both sides: 1 / (2/r - v2/GM) = a Which is exactly the equation liked above by @OhioBob.
  15. Just solve the vis-viva equation for a (the SMA).
  16. It isn't. Or do you mean navigation as in flight path? We have GPS and a whole bunch of navigation systems then.
  17. I think @Wanderfound's got you. I build a similar plane to yours, trying to match the overall layout and characteristics; and I could get it off less than halfway across the runway, while under 100m/s and with half the engines. I've made the plane similar to that of your screenshot, but I have made changes to bring the CoL and CoM closer together. Other than that, I have a similar lifting surfaces, 2 Goliaths instead of 4 and a very similar mass. As I couldn't see the tail very well on the screenshot, I've made something out of type C wings, with pitch controlled by four Elevons 1. Even with the improvements, the pitch authority is very small and the CoM/CoL mismatch means that the pitch is almost at maximum just to keep the plane levelled (see the Pitch gauge on the screenshot, I wasn't touching controls then). Seeing your original craft, It's no wonder you couldn't get it off the runway: the pitch authority is way too insufficient to overcome the CoM/CoL induced pitch-down you seem to have on your screenshot. You have enough lift, more than enough power and your weight is very reasonable. As been said before, to increase the pitch authority you need to move your CoL/CoM closer together by moving your wings or fuel around and to use larger control surfaces on the tail. Moving your rear gears closer to the CoM will help you take off, but your plane will still dart to the ground if you can't keep it levelled.
  18. No one knows: Squad has the habit of never giving release dates for updates. They might have an internal deadline but all we can do is speculate. Keep an eye on the KSP Weeklies as they give a little bit of information on the console builds each week, it's not much but that's your best chance for updates on the release.
  19. A gravity assist from Jool can reverse your orbit for almost free. Nevertheless, getting the right encounter at Jool and then lowering your orbit to the Dres-Moho target is going to be expensive. Ion would be the easy way to do this, but if you don't have it minimise the mass of your probe and go for a nuclear transfer stage.
  20. Added it! Corrected and updated! Must have got some names messed up when updating the mod to 1.3 (TBH writing your name in front of a new mod is becoming a reflex )
  21. I haven't seen the Expanse. What does your craft do exactly? How does your propulsion works? I'm always interested by Kraken drives but it's hard to figure out what happens without any explanation.
