  1. For me 1.3.1 was the most stable I've ever seen. It was great. I think you're problem is from the mods or the memory limit.
  2. I had the same experience on Tylo, only with my delta-V ticking down instead. The two values are related. Delta-v is a function of mass ratio which is a function of fuel and empty mass. I think the option would be great. Those who want it can use it, those who don't can turn it off. The default could even be "off", like advanced tweakables.
  3. Define previous rocket generations with numbers, and then just give this one a new number. Like: Gen 0: Small scale rockets. Goddard/VfR Gen 1: First missiles. V-2, Hermes, Redstone. Gen 2: ICBMs. R-7, Atlas, Titan And so on until you reach the new rockets.
  4. I found 38 mil for an RL-10. That is ridiculous. At what time are we comparing costs? And with what year's dollar value? Not only that, but the ET is pretty complex. The thrust structure is unusual, it delivered propellants through severable connections, and acted as part of a stack that went times as fast as an F-15. Remember, the ET almost went to orbit.
  5. Tankage is cheap... be glad there are no engines on the ET. Cost would skyrocket. Modern fighters are generally much more expensive.
  6. That's...not correct... I assume you are referring to the USA. Pedestrians do not always have right of way. It varies by state, but as an example: https://www.tn.gov/tdot/multimodal-transportation-resources/bicycle-and-pedestrian-program/tennesse-pedestrian-laws.html That's Tennessee, not Arizona, so the laws will be different, but from what I can find pedestrians are supposed to yield to cars when outside of cross-walks... but don't trust me on that one.
  7. JATO/RATO is your friend. The runway isn't unrealistically long, there are runways much longer in real life that are double the length. But it should be long enough.
  8. You create a species and evolve it from its microbial origin all the way to interstellar exploration/colonization. It has different gameplay modes. You start as an individual member of your species and eventually you control cities and the like. Pretty interesting game... not very realistic but that's a common theme.
  9. I think the only problems I've encountered involved weird control issues. I think that it could've just been the part joints breaking for one case, but I certainly noticed an issue on another flight, locking control based entirely on where my mouse was on the screen. I was running with KER and KAC, so that may be part of the cause... still, I've never seen something like that.
  10. Made an SSTO. Something I haven't done in a good while. Its currently landed on Minmus... with a good km/s or so of Dv left over.
  11. We have no information on the vehicle, so I can't tell you.
  12. BFR is already this, at least the booster is... 31 engines. More than N-1.
  13. It was inevitable, really. The question isn't can we stop all deaths, it's whether or not we can lower the rate at which they occur. Does make me wonder about the safety driver though...
  14. Well, really Soyuz would be the Senpai (older rocket family), and the Falcon would be the younger. So... Soyuz senpai and Falcon 9 - chan? "Senpai" generally denotes seniority.
  15. I used it to stuff a bunch of reaction wheels to get massive amounts of torque in a relatively small space. Neat. Got a screenshot handy? I was thinking about making an Atlas but I couldn't think of a good way to do it while keeping the rocket looking nice.
  16. Starflight is a good one, but it's a bit old and may have trouble running on your machine. You mean games like KSP? I can't think of many that come close... but Starmade and Space Engineers let you build spaceships as well.
  17. Why not airships? Well, besides the obvious reasons for why not, a large airship could easily have the necessary volume. I'm not sure about lifting capacity though. 9 m diameter, something like 58 meters long for the booster. Dry mass of something like 275 tonnes. Perhaps a hybrid that combines dynamic and static lift? Maybe carry it in sections...? The ship would be a bit easier to transport, as it is much lighter.
  18. The SM-18? I recommend monoprop thrusters and no LF/O engines. Not much reason to have more than one type of propellant.
  19. -Countdown, by Rush Nice job. I think it's great. How much music have you made?
  20. Mostly replicas. You can stuff fuel into them, or anything, actually...
  21. Doing this might be difficult... although maybe you could make an "installer"(can be a simple batch file) for new chapters. All it would do is extract the archive files and copy the persistence file from the previous mission, provided it's possible to create a permanent save. Good luck! I do think this will be quite fun, and definitely hilarious.
  22. Yeah, but usually those can't go to space...
  23. General Transport Vehicle? He did propose using it in an airline like capacity...
  24. Funnily enough the Martlet 2, which was fired out of a lengthened battleship gun, managed muzzle velocities around Mach 6, with a range much in excess of 11 km, and altitudes exceeding the Karman Line. I'm not sure which propellant they used, though. Certainly not a light gas gun. Pretty light projectile, too. Well, at least not nearly as heavy as a battleship gun shell. The 20 mm could be depleted uranium, making it much heavier than a convential 20mm shell. Gun could be a light gas gun with a large charge. Depends on how it's portrayed, really.
