  1. i re-did and hit 2992 m/s over land. but i will not rest until i have passed mach 10
  2. 2,912 m/s over land. ill re-do because it was a horrible run i am certanly having fun again only used mod is time control.
  3. well, i re-tried and got a decent speed of 1971 m/s. i am FAR from the limit though, i still have to add more fuel for the mainsail (yay for droptanks!), add more jet engines, etc. only mod used is time control, to make things run closer to real time. shouldnt affect flight, but if you *really* want, i can re-do in a clean install.
  4. ill compete, 2300 m/s with only 1 intake (was actually a machingbird try): later ill try 2 intakes and then a rocket thing EDIT: OOPS i am so dumb. i went all the way to space in that thing >.< so i do not count, went over 65 km. will retry later
  5. well... i added a smaller fuel tank for the speed run and drop tanks, and hit 2300 m/s. another 5 m/s and ill be on the top 20 with only 1 intake!!!! though it is unmanned, eventually ill see if i can hit 2305 m/s with a seat. max qaulity reentry effects are so awesome again, stock except for time control and steam guages, unmanned, and done in 0.24.2, and called "MB 1 intake #2" sorry about the horribly dark pic of staging you *can* make out the engine and fuel tanks though.
  6. well, i eventually got so tired of failed lag-monsters that i tried to see how fast a 1 intake design could go. 2149 m/s, and it wasnt very well optimized either! i think i can beat 2200 m/s with 1 intake, but thats for later. EDIT: as always im dumb. its unmanned, stock (except for time control, shouldnt affect flight), and called "PFU 1"
  7. sorry for the uber late reply. was on a trip for like AN ENTIRE DAY WITHOUT INTERNET 0.0 scary.... so, i will make an entry soon. the reason for not updating is that i cant get it to work but roughly around christmas time i should get it working (hopefully)
  8. KerbNG.drive! at least if the cars crash.
  9. the answer is *obviously* french toast. it's french, and french food is good.
  10. if i do a run in 0.24.2 will it be added to the old leaderboard? (i dont have 0.25 or 0.9)
  11. not something i want to fight...
  12. oooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh cool use of the wings! but, emmmmm.... 1800+ parts? my computer runs at 20% realtime with 400 parts! crazy O.O
  13. i just had an idea for a spaceship that could maybe be useful. i cant try it because i have a sucky computer, but the idea is to make the ship a giant sphere or cube, because especially for the long skinny ships, they seem to splinter in half often. but with a sphere/cube, there is no "weak bit". would it maybe work?
  14. very cool plane! it even looks fairly good however, if you only looking for speed, try using the ram air intakes (the shock cone intake takes in slightly more air, but is 2x heavier). the reason is that the higher you go, the less drag you have, the faster you can go. but going high in the atmo means less air, so you cant run your engine at full throttle, so you need LOTS of intakes for example, i reached 2377 m/s in this (128 intakes): however that is obviously not realistic. but its possible to go 2 km/s on only 1 intake, but then the plane has to be very light. cool looking plane though
  15. some things you could try: 1) try using the tiny stack sperators that have 15 ejection force. or even docking ports! but that adds extra mass. 2) ditch the wings entrirely and rely on SAS torque (you can ditch that in space later) 3) give animepug the craft file however i think you should be accepted anyway. i avoid that problem with horrible computer
  16. cool plane, nice flying, and nice speed! however... screenshot rules E: "-e. Any staging events that happen, such as drop-tanks, launch stages, wheel drops, etcetera." :0.0::0.0: sorry
  17. i dont think you should, because the physics and flameout logic are still all the the same as before. so while it is easier to clip things now, its nothing that couldnt be done before with some cubic struts. just my opinion though
  18. he used small rocket tanks and tweaked them to remove oxidizer. however he is getting an extra 0.2 units of fuel from somewhere that i can't see, but if you add up the liquid fuel numbers it is close enough to 213 units of fuel the FL-T200s hold 90 units of liquid fuel each, the round-8 holds 10 units, and the each of the 3 oscar-Bs hold 5.7 liquid fuel. 90*2+10+5.7*4 is 212.8 units of liquid fuel
  19. nice plane, but you dont have a front view of your plane on the runway! it says that you need it in the rules, so i dont think you can enter. i think you can just add one though and then you should be fine
  20. it basically gives you a lot of readouts about your ship.
  21. i remember that in the old challenge, hengeprophet was thinking of putting KER under MJ entries. but, of course, it's theAnimePug's decision
  22. thanks! (for adding me) some things you could do to improve your EarthShip: 1) try ditching the wings at roughly 30 km or so. 2) as always, more intakes ! and try putting them on those "cubic octagonal struts" to save weight. if you are worried about partcount, you can mount ram intakes on both the front AND the back of the cubic strut. 3) ditch the outer engines. if you need them to take off, put them on decouplers and ditch them when the air gets low. 4) you dont need all that fuel. its a lot of dead weight. if you really need *that* much fuel, then using droptanks is useful. hopefully that helps
  23. oops! sorry, i added that to the old post. i dont re-read the rules very often, so
  24. yeah, i think it gets exponentially harder. which is where bottling up intakeair comes in!
