  1. I love it when I'm flying high-performance planes, because whenever you go into a turn you get this "whoosh" noise and the camera shakes. It just makes you feel like you're going fast.
  2. There's fixed landing gear which is slanted. Also, we literally just got five new landing gears.
  3. Thing is, if I remember correctly, there's something like two keys on the normal keyboard that don't do something already.
  4. Really? Well... Cool! Cool! Cool! Cool! Seriously, this is pretty friggin awesome.
  5. What the heck is Newton's Law of Cooling? Yes, in fact, 30 degrees can cause those variations, because the part that was previously occluded by a heat shield is now in the airstream. And also, KSP does do those calculations, that was part of the aero update. Maybe it's got something to do with that fact that that test was at about 0.95 atm, going at 1.5 thousand m/s (Or, to put some scale in there, 3.35 thousand miles per hour, or 5.4 thousand kilometers per hour.) You were going at near hypersonic velocities at very low altitude. That's going to make you heat up a LOT.
  6. No pics, no clicks. Also, try to add a better description, and possibly an action group setup.
  7. Y'know, this is Whackjob you're talking to...
  8. Understandable. It is the full release, and plus, it's on sale for $30. This probably will give you many more hours of entertainment than your average $60 AAA game, so great value.
  9. Thing is, I find it hard to visualize those paper wings as carrying fuel. The big wings, yes, but not the small ones.
  10. Ha. Asteroids are actually a part, and it looks like a bit of an oversight there on the part of SQUAD. Might be in there for testing (Please, SQUAD, all you have to do is mention it in a change log and people will love it)
  11. First thing for me was just a simple little 0.625m stack, upper stage with a service bay, plus lower stage with boosters and those smexy new bent nosecones.
  12. I like the current way; it just looks better to have a sort of rockety-looking rocket exhaust instead of a gigantic yellow funnel.
  13. There's no key assignment because it's a mouse movement, just like there's no key assignment for zooming in and out. And it's not bound to a key because you can only control 3 axes with a keyboard (WASDQE) before things start getting hard to reach.
  14. If I were one of those masters, I'd totally build a kerbal hugging, then just tweak scale it up to the size of Eeloo (Y'here me, SWDennis?)
  15. Also, if we didn't use kilonewton and metric ton (or megagram, but that sounds like some sort of superhero, not a unit of measurement ), what units would we use? - - - Updated - - - If you try to put the force in kilonewtons and distance in kilometers, the thousands cancel each other out. Basic pre-algebra stuff.
  16. No, but you can express it as a product of powers of one or more of the base units. Kilonewton = Newton x 10^3.
  17. So, not much to say here. On a brand new MacBook Pro 13" with 16GB RAM and a 3Ghz dual-core Core i7, running OSX Yosemite, I open a save file, click on any building, and then the game crashes. Looking through the reports, every time it hangs it says the error was "KERN_UNPROTECTED_FAILURE," and the crashed thread was com.apple.mainthread (I don't remember the exact name.) Player.log says nothing of any use. Mods: BDArmory MechJeb ModuleManager CollisionFX Hotrockets
  18. The jets there I think might be generated by some code that makes these plumes of smoke whenever there is an engine firing into the launchpad. (I'm not a coder, so you're all probably laughing right now.) The smoke when landing is probably just an animated texture that displays when you have an engine plume close to the ground. - - - Updated - - - Actually, taking a.second think, there's probably just a thing that emits engine-like smoke when there are engines on the launchpad. (If you look, the effect here is quite similar to an engine placed sideways.
  19. I just have to say: OH MY GOD THEY ADDED LAUNCH SMOKE OH MY GOD OH MY GOD Also, they may have done it better than hotrockets, as with hotrockets whenever your velocity was close to zero smoke started billowing out of your engine and it was a pain in the @$$ to see.
