  1. The bug is still there. If its the first part created0 I get Fueltype set to "custom" and I can't change anything. As a second part, I can't attach it. Represented in this log: And here is the full MM patch, just in case I mess up!
  2. Damn, sorry I posted this while I was trying to figure out what was wrong. It had subtractMass = false. like this: Let me try again, I don't want to waist your time.
  3. Oh... What I had is this: so do I need to remove "enableContainerEdit = true" or "enableFuelTypeChange = true" ? Or is it "baseContainerIndex = 0" that need to be set "to =1" ?
  4. Thinking a bit on the Idea of separated IVA, There is some mechanics that would garantee IVA fit in a given presured hull without being too complicated (to play with at least!). Say Hulls length can be adjusted by section of 2m. Player chose to have a 8m long hull with two attachment node on its side. One at 3 meters from the top, one at 1m of the bottom. The one at 3m from the top would allow "deployment" of IVA that are shorter than 6m, could still be 2m or 4m. The one meter from the bottom would only allow 2m. Again, IVA could be storage as well, and they would use the same mechamics as a regular tank, when switching to transparent, you would see the 6m IVA plus a 2m tank. Now say you can have multiple diameter hull. Say 1.25 and 2.5m for a start. In VAB, Player decide to have a hull 8m long hull, a section that accept a single full size 2.5x4m IVA and another that accept four small 1.25x4m IVA. Player can chose to decide to have a lab plus 4 experiment, storage etc... Or say a hab with a comune room and 4 individual bed. A bit like Universal Storage, but with a potentialy larger scope. Again, these are simple suggestion. I have the tendancy to trow them at every modder around. Sorry about that... About atomic rocket website, I feel realy sorry for you if you never visited it. Realy, its cover everything related to space and Si-Fy in the best retro format possible.
  5. About IVA limitation, A work around could be to have the IVA as a completely separated part: 1- A single Pressured hull part : A basic frame that have nodes on its side to attach IVA, one or more depending on its size. Size, and some external option and feature can be changed, like what you have with SSTU tanks, plus some extra option that work the same way than mount, like external experiment, storage etc. 2- multiple IVA parts: Attachable only to node. In VAB its a simple hatch or window, with a red or green cylinder that represent the volume of the interior once attached to Pressured hull. Its red if it clip, its green if it doesn't. Whats good about this is that it would allow in orbit modification using KAS. Its more part, but its customizable, and its not limited to Station It also works for interstellar spaceship and possibly for deployable part and spaceplane. What do you think?
  6. What about a rigid deployable centrifuge that are not a torus? There is several exemple on Atomic rocket webside.
  7. @Shadowmage Thats brilliant thanks. I am currently converting OPT spaceplane part as a testbed for further implementation. I think that If I divide base mass per something like 2 and then do what you said, I could come up with a semi-balanced formula generic enough to convert alots of parts.
  8. @JoseEduardo Realy nice stuff. It might be a good Idea to include a MM that balance bobcats engine cost and temp.
  9. @Shadowmage Another "quick" question: Is it possible to have a base mass on top of tankageMass? For cockpit spaceplate part etc... Edit: I imagine I could do a workaround, something like adding a container that can only be a heavy structural setup. BTW, I droped the idea of mass MM editing to convert to SSTU fuel tanks.
  10. Well, what you did is not bad, exept that it break savegame. Modder often do update that does that, OPT is in dev not in release after all. OPT_ would have made my MM easier to do. Anyway, do as you wish...
  11. Before doing anything, read the notice a the bottom carefully. Copy paste the text into a text file that have the .cfg extention. Place it anywhere in gamedata, preferably preferably at a logical place like SSTU/patch/. There you go.
  12. XSI had the best interface by far, quite easy to learn. Maya is still the most productive once you know it, but its not exactly intuitive i would say. Did the addition of OPT_ broke some MODULE etc? I about to remove my custom built and use the new one ( and make a new custom built that replace all FS switch to SSTU container). If you can confirm that some stuff have been broken, I might postpone my plan a bit.
  13. Then I will create a family of tanks that range from extra cheap steel to ultra advanced carbon tanks!
  14. "Quick" question ( omg I never stop, sorry...) Is there a field that can modify SSTU_CONTAINERTYPE cost?
  15. @Shadowmage Sincere apologies, I waisted your time, I'm still trying to figure out what I did wrong. Again, many thanks for your awesome support. I will test the MM patch that convert Stock/Mod tanks to your system. I might find a way to exclude patching undesirable part. Or it could be the other way around, remove everything, pick the mass an multiply it by a fixed amount that match SSTO standard. If there was a "IF" statement, it could have a divider for part that have cargo bay or lifting surface. Pretty hacky, and there is also the volume. You see, thats how I break my toys...
  16. Note that once you get into warp, it doesn't matter anymore, you can accelerate quicker than the limit (1ms). There might be a workaround there.
  17. I get the "cannot warp faster than 1X while under acceleration." Message. I am using relatively powerfull NFT engine. Looks like 1 KN per tons is the default KSP threshold to get in warp speed. I will check if I can change it in physics config.
  18. I can't use persistantThrust with more than 1kN thrust per tons limitation. Is it a limitation that I can change?
  19. Yeah, People often think you only need a good idea... Idea are easy, its the doing that is the hard part. Take it for what it is, I am already glad that you just consider it. Mainwhile, as a simple user, I will wait for your update of the current Hangar mod. I might even do a config that convert USI kontainer to Hangar extention, add Hangar Passages to the truss section and build the cargo ship of my dream. More than good enough.
  20. Looks like @swjr-swis idea and mine are congerging, its a logical conclusion I guess. I see many possiblilties and fun gameplay in perspective. Kontainer ship everywhere!
  21. Saran Wrap and ducktape? Seriously, I glad the idea was well recived. If you decide to do it I would be greatfull. but as you said, many have idea, very few can implement them. No presure. About the realism, It could be made "realistic" trough baseplate having a maximum volume defined before lunch, that volume would translate into mass. In term of assembly, its not different than deployable ground hangar. But if it would require a X number of kerbal in proximity, I am all for it. It might be a bit overkill. Now I am starting to think about another concept. You have a bunch of plate stored trough KIS. You attach them to what You want to store. Open the context menu of the plate, and if you have enough plate attached, you can convert your ship into a container. The container itself could be a premade model like the USI one. Then, using KIS. you need enough kerbal to strap that container to the main ship. That would be wonderfull for cargo ship... Another Idea that I am asking someone else to work on...
  22. I am very glad you are resurrecting the Hangar mod! Kerbal x64 didn't remove the needs for something like this. I don't want to be annoying but I have a suggestion. What If instand of storing ship/stuff within a hangar, it was the other way around. Like Mothballing the ship if I can say. The Idea I have would be something like this: You have something like stock fairing plate, a ship 'dock' to its top. Its volume is calculated and a fairing is built around it. Then the ship get stored. It would be extremely flexible to use.
