Ah, that makes sense. Good to see that my language somehow has... eh... influenced KSP in some way. Ecalp em! EDIT: why did this thread get revived?

(Turn-based) Kerbal Multiplayer Collaboration

I was not being ironic! I just saw there was a general agreement on the subject; after all, I was only suggesting the notion and asking around. -

All right. This democracy seems to be working quite well, I think. -

Since again we have no current user, I propose we start the second cycle. -
Quality Mods Sharing Niches with Stock Features
Musil replied to JedTech's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Don't worry, it's all in good spirit I guess what bothers me is that I find the language of your OP a bit too aggressive and judgmental. I can understand if you dislike the stock features, or simply prefer them the way the mods make them, but that's a question of preference, not of our dear devs halfassing their work. "Mediocre" is a heavy word, I find, or maybe it's just that in my native Spanish it has some connotations it doesn't have in English. Putting some though into what you ask for: DR, I think, wont be needed any more. I find it essential as of now, but the shields sometimes look ugly if not paired with the DR decouplers, and I don't like those very much. FAR I have grown to dislike. Yes, launching rockets with a nice gravity turn is very satisfying, and we all now the current aerodynamics are crap, but I could just never build a plane that could land with FAR, and landing on Dunas thin atmosphere without appropriate parachutes always frustrated me. I am content at the moment waiting for the improved atmo in 1.0. Mechjeb: I have never used it, because I don't like the idea of the autopilot. I use K. Engineer instead, and plan to keep doing so: it provides a lot of useful information not planed for display in 1.0. But I see no reason why it would not be continued. Karbonite: never used it. I suspect once stock resources come into play, it will improve on that rather than disappearing. Toolbar: hated it. Stock seems much better to me, but it's a question of preference. Proc. Fairings: I see no reason to assume stock fairings are going to be bad, but if someone wants them to do something they don't, I am sure mods will come into play. If not that same mod, some other will. PartCatalog: never used it. Never use the stock either, so my opinion on this one doesn't weight much. -
Nothing like that has been mentioned. So, probably not.

Quality Mods Sharing Niches with Stock Features
Musil replied to JedTech's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
If the maintainers for those mods want to keep on tweaking the stock features once they come out, I see no reason for the mods to be "endangered". If they stop working on the mods for other reasons, then the stock "replacement" had nothing to do with it. 1.0 is supposed to have a lot of features to help moders change the game, so it should be easier than ever. Why you claim beforehand that the stock features for that are going to be mediocre is beyond me, showing no faith in the devs that have created this wonderful game. This OP pisses me off, a bit, I must be frank. -
They look great with the AV pack. But yeah, it's stupid that on the ground or at day the planet is barren...

Nice video, dharak1. Funny hearing yo trying to pronounce "Caronte" -
From the transcription of the last Squadcast: I knew it. Kerbals are underground dwelling reptiles. Off to uninstall the EVE mod city lights.

That.

No need; now that you explained what I did wrong I can do it myself. Considering what happened when I tried, the ship they were in disappearing, that must probably be it. Thanks -

Ok, stated on the user file that the second cycle starts Friday. Renaming kerbals would be nice. I tried it, but broke the save (luckily had a backup) and didn't want to try again. -

I also agree. Start a new cycle so we can play on, otherwise it's going to die. -

No user, guys... Who wants it? -
Not wanting to turn this thread into a language pissing contest, I wasn't talking about the relative difficulty of first->second languages. One reason for English becoming such a universal lingua franca, besides colonization, is that learning English is actually quite easy: no endless verb inflections! But Spanish has very clear and unmistakable spelling rules, and graphical accents make it very easy to read a word and know how to say it. So, for me, reading a word and having no idea how to say it, and viceversa, is... just... too much to handle. And apostrophes are hell, just hell.

Hmmm... I think we know. They have said the improved atmosphere, fairings, mining and added relevance to the Kerbal XP system are already in. Maxmap's was asking if we wanted still MOAR things. This post is mainly to vent. I said in that thread the current plan for 1.0 was good, and my only concern is balance. But I still want to dream about my perfect stock KSP for 1.1 and beyond, so here we can do that.
-
Maxmaps has asked us if we would like improvements in performance and bugfixes for existing features or more features for 1.0. Reading the comments on that thread, I think most of us agree that bugfixing and such is the most important aspect of 1.0, with some concerns for balance and what not. I also think that's important for 1.0, but the dev's willingness to ask us if we want more features makes me wonder what I would still want being added to the stock game after release. I have not included Unity 5 in the poll because mostly everyone want's that anyway. Maxmaps' comment makes me think the devs will get to that when they get to that. More planets should be counted as part of "game mechanics", so if that's what you want, vote 4. Oh, and I forgot multiplayer... I guess, count that as 4 too. (I think I made a spelling mistake in the poll. It should be "parts", not "part's", right? Forgive my poor English)

Nonsense... I am on a Mac and have never had problems with mods, even at full res. The only thing that just won't run is EVE at high res, but that's not mandatory for the AVP, so who cares?
-
I think the features for 1.0 are good enough! Obviously, as most people have pointed out, polish is needed, but it seems you are aware of that, and what's necessary is being done. We would like for moar features being added endlessly, but it's clear the game needs a release eventually and I guess you are seeing a bigger picture than we are. The only thing that worries me about release is that, specially with new features being added, the game will be very unbalanced in career. I think that, buying the game, most people will want to try out career (it seems like it's the main game mode), and some things just don't make sense; for example, the tech tree, or the insane costs of upgrading buildings, as well as the costs of some parts. I would propose a 0.91 release just to let the community test the balance of the game, that's all, and maybe discover any lingering bugs. If someone wants more features, it's a well known fact how good the mods are for KSP. That aside, full (main)sail ahead! EDIT: oh, and awesome job. I got into the game in 0.24 and you devs have never disappointed me. KSP is great, and I thank you for the opportunity to play it.
