  1. Take a look at Hoover's second pic. If you look at the clouds he's above, there is a distinct shape to the clouds - or rather to individual portions of the clouds. It uses that shape repeatedly to shape the overall cloud shape, which I don't recall having seen before. Maybe it's simply more distinct than it was before and this was always the case. I only know I just noticed it with this most recent Coming of the Blue Text, and with it showing up in Hoover's pics as well made me more certain that it wasn't just me.
  2. Not just Dmagic - even the sporadic uses of the Universal Storage stock experiments seem to not collect either. Log is here, if I understand which file is the correct one. Which I may not. Anyhow, hoping this is a simple fix...
  3. Figured as much - but it's always better to speak up than to assume it's already known. On a similar note, the volumetric clouds seem to have shifted radically... almost a mix of texture with volumetric. Each large cloud seems to be made up a odzens of smaller clouds, each of which has the same shape. Give a much more textured look overall, but as they all use the same shape, it's looking a little off. Side effect of the new EVE build?
  4. The slightly longer answer is that in 1.1, SQUAD shifted from one version of UNITY to the newest version. Part of that meant rewriting all of the code (or at least a good portion of it) pertaining to wheels. They're kinda still working on getting it all working again as it did before, and as a result, mods like this are in limbo while SQUAD gets it all set up.
  5. Love the shots, but it does highlight at least one adjustment I think may need to be made - Jool. I like the colors and banding, but the atmosphere is almost making it vanish - IE, the blue tinge that is across the whole planet is making the green banding blend together so much that it's almost indistinct.
  6. No worries - was just curious, as I said. As often as Jeb crashes and burns, a new game isn't a big deal. And we just can't have a space program without Jeb, can we? I'll check this out, and we'll see how it fares.
  7. He preaches of the coming of the Mighty KSP 1.3 (1.4, 1.5, etc). His power is great... and yet, never a character of blue text do we see during his videos.
  8. No need to be afraid. Quick rundown - his forum title is 'Blue Text Worshiper'. Also, whenever he does a release, he places a link to it at the bottom of the post - which is in blue text. We've simply run with that idea and turned it into a semi-religious experience. Have you accepted Blue Text as your personal Kerbal Savior?
  9. Yay! MOAR Blue Text! Now if I can just get back to orbit to enjoy it all...
  10. There's a few places where that looks like a double layer of clouds, I think. Especially in that area up in the 'armpit of Africa' landmass area. I haven't made it up into orbit in my latest playthrough yet, so I can't confirm if I have this or not, but if Nhawk's suggestion about reinstalling doesn't work, then I wonder if maybe he accidentally duplicated the cloud layer?
  11. The code base may not be the same anymore, but they still perform the same base function - automated science. That being the case, in essence, if the one was on and the other off, the one that is on would still try to run the science experiment, hence the results he was seeing. It's not an incompatibility, per se - it's ForScience! doing exactly what it was designed to do. Or at least, that's what makes sense to me. If you have two people doing the same job, then tell one to go home, the other one will still be there doing the job, after all. Anyhow, it made sense to me, and my apologies if this is coming off as me trying to be anything other than helpful... I seem to have been having problems the last few days with that. Tone and such doesn't convey well in straight typed form.
  12. I'm hardly a pro - just surprised that you weren't aware that the two mods were (literally) the same mod on two differing branches, so to speak. *shrug* Wasn't trying to be offensive in any way, shape or form. Honestly, I was even more surprised that the mod author himself didn't catch that. Meh, doesn't matter - you done figured it out, and as you say, it's always better to be able to t/s your own installations whenever possible.
  13. Don't lie, NHawks. I can see the hand of the Blue Text when I see it. It is yet another sign of it's Next Coming. Prepare yourselves! The coming of the Blue Text is neigh! Looks simply outstanding, guy - if you hadn't gotten that from everyone else. One day, when I get good at this game, I hope to see this in person. (I've yet to get outside of Minmus orbit... other planets are something that happens to other people.)
  14. This mod is on my watch list as a replacement for another mod I have, but as previously suggested, until the next version comes out (as I also use Strategia) it's not something I could effectively make use of. I noted that you said you were going to add a few features - if I may, do you have an estimate for when that may happen? Not an attempt to rush, or anything like that - just curious, as I'm about to start a new career in the game.
  15. Not really surprising though, since this mod and ForScience! are, in essence, the same mod. One forked from the other some time ago, and as far as I'm aware, the only real difference is that this one is attempting to be mod compatible with US, DMagic, and as many other science mods as possible.
  16. 4 m/s * 3.3 (m to feet) = 13.2 f/ps * 60 = 792 f/pm * 60 = 47,520 f/ph / 5280 = 9 MPH or 14.4 KPH 11 m/s * 3.3 = 36.3 f/ps * 60 = 2178 f/pm * 60 = 130680 f/ph / 5280 = 24.75 MPH or 39.6 KPH I dunno about explosions, but a few years back the USS SAN FRANCISCO hit an underwater mountain at a bit faster than 11 m/s and it's a bloody miracle only one person was killed. The unclassified pics make that very obvious (google them - it's pretty impressive/scary). As to landing in general, yeah... not sure I've even landed so much as 'crashed with style'.
  17. Nor was it intentional. Since you've done as I mentioned, though, you know I've been fielding a lot of questions like this for NHawks, and you can only give the same advice so many times before you begin to wonder. It's no reflection on you - if you missed those posts you missed them, no biggie. The post, though directed to you initially, was really more of an open letter to everyone in general. Apologies if it came off as other than intended.
  18. @Matt77: As a general piece of advice to everyone, the OP isn't the only place to find updated instructions. Courtesy dictates you also check the last 5 to 10 pages of the thread itself, where (in this case) the CKAN issue has been brought up numerous times. I'm a CKAN user in general myself, but for this mod it's not really an option. Yes, it would be slightly more obvious if Nhawks did exactly what you recommend - I've recommended it myself on more than a few occasions - but a simple reading of the thread shows that many of the problems folks have had with the mod stem from a CKAN installation that Nhawks does not (and never has) supported. It's a few more extra steps for us, but it's not all that hard to do, and checking the thread for updated releases takes a mere couple minutes. I know we live in a world of push-button-instant-YAY, but I don't think that's all that much to ask. I do kinda wish that whoever it is maintaining the .netkan file for this would get rid of it, though, as it's very obviously causing confusion, consternation, discombobulation, and general discontentment... in addition to being against the author's will as well. In better (and less rant-y) news - BLUE TEXT INCOMING! Prepare yourselves! The Blue Text shall soon dwell among us!
  19. It's not just advice - it's the provided instructions!
  20. For the first, I've never seen it in any of my games, so really have no advice other that what I posted earlier - remove all files relating to both SVE/EVE and Scatterer (though really, just the SVE and EVE folders and BoulderCo if it's somehow there should suffice) and reinstall SVE from the github repository (NOT CKAN!). For the second, that's actually a feature. Exactly what I've seen (for real this time! Honest!) in my games, and doesn't look off to me... the darkness is intentional, as if they were all pure white, you'd barely even see them. Plus, realistically speaking, most clouds have shades of grey to dark grey anyhow, so while, granted, a lot of clouds are very white, these are hardly outside the realm of normalcy. As Black said, it's a random thing. Last night, I had no clouds at all. This morning, had half coverage (the poor southern hemisphere...). Still looked correct in game, and that's where it really matters, truth be told.
  21. *shrug* As I said - it looks right to me, but then I'm not always looking for photo-realism either. Looked right to me, and that's all that matters (for me, anyhow, eh?) If it's not working to your taste, then do what'cha gotta do guy. Them there's the beauty of mods. And yes, I know I can see the orange portion of the terminator. My point is that the atmosphere extends significantly higher than the ground, where that orange light it reflecting. About 70 KM, as it turns out . Because of the height difference, the atmosphere catches and refracts sunlight long after darkness has effectively fallen at ground level, hence the glow you see. Too bright? Maybe, but that's more a matter of taste in this case, I think. You can see this pretty much every evening as night falls - the ground gets almost pitch black long before the atmosphere goes black. EDIT: So I'm going to take back at least some of what I've written in the last little bit. I've been paying a bit more attention to what's in-game, and you, sir, are perfectly correct - that glow shouldn't be there. I'm not sure why it is, given that I've done zero to the stock settings of SVE or Scatterer (with the exception of turning off the god-ray WIP portion of Scatterer). I apologize for the lack of screenies, as I'm writing this on a separate computer from where my flight is currently running. My only suggestion would be to try once more, this time ensuring that all previous traces of both mods are totally and completely eliminated prior to their install. I would also caution you to NOT use the SVE install through CKAN (I don't recall that you said you did, but I'll throw that in there anyway, because it's a common mistake). I wish I had better suggestions for this... especially after shooting my mouth off without verifying my own information.
  22. Not really sure what you two are thinking is wrong - that ring of blue near the terminator is fairly accurate... it's still catching light from the sun through atmosphere. Once you are fully across the terminator, it's gone as it should be. Also keep in mind that some of the screenshots posted here are not just SVE/Scatterer installs. My own uses elements of KSPRC, Texture Replacer, and a few other small visuals as well. Don't assume that just because they were posted here that those two mods were all that were used. As to the change since your last HR install... as far as I know, the scatterer changes have been minimal. You may want to check your settings for it, as I do know he enabled Dx11 shaders in the most recent build... that could have some affect on what you've been seeing.
  23. New rank pack released based on KSP's stock rank system of stats. Details and download link in the OP.
  24. Haven't seen this at any point, actually. Maybe the Kerbals set up an extensive colony when you weren't looking? *shrug* I'd try a reinstall just to check you did everything correctly. Well. VERY well. I dropped in the UR as soon as 1.1 hit, and have had no reason to regret it. If you read the instructions you posted, you'll note that at no time did it say to install EVE. That's been the case for quite some time. Additionally, and this is not to sound like a jerk or anything, but it's always good practice to read a few pages back (NOT the entire thread, but at least the previous 5 to 10 pages) before posting an issue - this particular item has been mentioned (by me to others) several times. Nhawks is pretty even keeled about it, but I know some of the other mod authors would completely lose thier stuff if you obviously hadn't done that. More an FYI on best practices, not a grumpy complaint, if you get me... plus it might save you some waiting on a reply post as well. @Nhawks17: Glad to hear about a potential fix to the double light layer. Almost looks like one is a shadow layer to the other from what I've observed... ALMOST not noticeable, until you do, and then you can't un-see it.
  25. And behold, the Blue Text did again descend and walk among us, and great was it's glory, and great was the joy of those who beheld it. Awesome, Hawks - just awesome. Thanks for the hard work (you DID beat Pood with a stick at some point, right?) of yourself and Pood for this.
