KSP is not that intensive. a mid range modern pc will more just finee. An i3 with like a gtx 950 (good value) probably atleast 8gb ram. rams super cheap anyway no reason to have under 8 gigs.
-
Im aware unity 5 will bring a stable 64 bit version and so we get more then 4gb ram and so we can run more mods stably but in terms of gameplay what else could be different ? better frame rate ? better optimised?

I think most people agree a normal realistic fairing is the way to go... obviously a silly fairing isnt going to compromise the entire game but thats not an argument to not correct things. Also its a fairly simple change. hence fairly easy to get right so no reason not to.
-
Common we all know the reason KSP is so great is due to its 'fairly realistic' simulation of things, thats why its interesting, satisfying and fun. the whole kerbal thing is a side gimmick, a good one, i think its fine and fun. but its far from the point. So thatd be a pretty dum excuse to have the fairings behave like that. lol and i hope the picture was misleading and in reality they've thought the fairings though properly.

guyss im sure they'll work like normal fairings, it would be quite silly and disappointing of them to have the fairings fall into pieces while decoupling

Will We Get a Release Date Prior to Release?

To be honest, all these things you guys have mentioned sound super annoying from the (devs/squads) perspective but its not like people are knocking on their door, bitching/moaning and & criticism seem perfectly suited for a forum. and hey i think paying customers get to do trivial things like moan and ask about release dates. lol the whole things a little trivial either way, i just thought it was weird they had an actual rule about it, and people seem to be so cautious about it. -
Will We Get a Release Date Prior to Release?

why exactly cant we ask when does it come out ?, It seems like a perfectly sensible question. Edit: apparently its in the rules.... i mean i get they might not have a date to give, but seems a bit silly to have it be a 'rule' -
Would an update to the Unity 5 engine allow the game to grow visually? if so do people reckon squad will allow the game to take advantage of decent hardware ? KSP has so much potential, imagine how the game would look and feel with high res detailed textures and effects, im sure a large portion of the users own a computer with more then 4 gigs of ram and a integrated gpu.

[1.0.4] Endurance (from Interstellar) [DISCONTINUED]
lucretius replied to benjee10's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
that makes sense, I dont know much about whats possible but since these are custom parts wouldn't it be possible to change some of the structural parameters, so its more ridged, custom docking ports perhaps ?, or what if we were to have something like KAS and add struts in EVA. im sure you could have them cleverly positioned such that they're not too visible. Also i feel like there may be some size limitations launching the ship whole. if it were modular it could be made to scale (or close). -
[1.0.4] Endurance (from Interstellar) [DISCONTINUED]

''The current plan is as such. The main ring will be a single piece, and part-clipping will be used to attach modules onto the ring in any configuration you like, allowing for some flexibility as to the mission profile etc. Unfortunately this means launching the Endurance as one big piece, but there really isn't any user-friendly way of building it in orbit unless you have lots of patience and a monster computer. '' Very exciting and thanks for doing it. but Would it not be possible for the modules to connect via docking ports ? So it can be assembled. rather then launch whole which would feel a little silly.
