  1. So, one day, the police got a call from neighbor A, stating that neighbor B was hiding drugs and body parts in his recently-obtained logs. A half-hour later, officials from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, backed up by armed police forces, entered neighbor B's residence. The logs were chopped, but no body parts/ drugs were found. The officers cussed around in frustration and left. The next day, the following phone conversation was recorded between neighbors A and B: "Did the cops come?" "Uh-huh." "They chopped up your logs?" "Yep" "Good, now it's your turn to call. I need my garden plowed."

  4. Just wait a bit longer and it'll come out. Soup! There's a waiter in my table!
  5. But seriously, is that the performance of 1.1? How many parts could you run in 1.0.5?

  10. Known for being one of the best spaceplane creators here.
  11. Yeah, that one is my favourite, I was actually considering putting it up as my wallpaper. We need more loading screens that look like this.
  12. Not to be insuIting or demanding, but I do not quite like the recent loading screens. For one thing, smiling kerbals don't strike me as "good looking" (though they do look very humorous, and reflect the game's style, which is very well thought-out). I put two example image-arrays for you to choose from, to see what style you support. So, what do you think, what should we do with the loading screens? Image array 1: Image Array 2: ^(Probably not this image, unless KSP gets a serious mood. If you like the rest of the images in Array 2, ignore this one and vote freely)^
  13. Small question. Does this function with 1.1? I'm planning to download the pre-release for the purpose of making functioning tanks with internals.
  14. Great. Now I know even more how disorganized my topic is. I didn't even think about the issue. If a modder wants their mod to go away with them, it is their right. I haven't even realised how much my topic contradicts this.
  15. Whatever, then. I have nothing to say against that, and everyone still believes I'm insulting modders. @Red Iron Crown, just lock this thread (again). Besides, the argument is long solved. All we can do is be nice to modders, because if we try to create an idea to help them, we'll be criticized and scolded by everyone on the forums. Apparently "I can do whatever I want, so I just want a harder time getting my mods to have an influence on the community" is logical, and whoever tries to think of ideas to help the community is sarcastically called a "saviour" and viewed as a hubristic egotist. I have half the forum, including all my favourite modders, scolding me right now. I quit.
  16. Which is why you do not pointlessly throw away your Apple©, you keep your apple for the future, because you like it and you do not want to pointlessly lose it. As Andem put it: Thank you. Someone with my mindset. By the way, this is how most people are acting in this thread: "I have the right to fall and die (even though I don't have to), and I have the right not to choose someone to save me (even though I have multiple people who can). Therefore, I choose to die pointlessly in order to express my rights." Just because it's your apple, doesn't mean you want to lose it pointlessly. Just because it's your life and your decision, doesn't mean you'd prefer to kill yourself to show off your right. Just because it's your mod, your decision, and you're not obliged to anyone, doesn't mean that you will choose a complete, pointless removal of the mod, instead of using your work usefully by choosing an easy way to keep the script and let someone else take over (or put the mod back in action when you feel like it). If you chose the masochistic answers to each one of those statements, I have some serious questions to ask.
  17. Originally, the problem was the shutdown of numerous, very important mods for KSP. I am trying to think up a friendly way to avoid that, without depriving modders from their own freedom with their mods..
  18. Well, I understand @stupid_chris's position perfectly, and agree with it. I just think that, if there's a ripe apple on the table (a good mod), and you do not have the appetite or time to eat it (boredom/ RealLifeTM/ anger/ etc), then why throw away the apple (let the mod die and never get it back) when you can put it back into its crate and take it when you need it (storing of script for future purposes, or something like that)? There must be something more than "I felt that the project was not as useful anymore, so I deleted pages of useful work forever" to the mindset of modders. Yes, lack of kindness/ unproductivity may cause a mod's collapse, but what is standing in the way of storing the script, to put the mod back into action when needed? Of course, a modder is not obliged to do anything for the forum community, but if I had to choose between giving everyone something good or keeping it for myself only, I'd choose the first option all the time (unless the matter was about chocolate). That is what I am trying to ask, but I am only getting told the reasons for stopping a project rather than what someone does when he stops a project. Right. Maybe that's what I should ask, I think I phrased my questions wrong...
  19. Well, that's quite a radical way of putting it. I meant that I think we can find a way to give modders all the options they want, but just give them a good way of doing things that they would most likely prefer over others.
  20. 1. You're talking about "society always wins". Yes, that can be effective with a large amount of people and a service to send info all over said amount of people (i.e. news agency+ a few million people= you-do-what-they-tell-you-to-do-or-you-get-shamed-internationally) , but that certainly does not apply to modding. 2. We're not talking about illegality. In here, there are no social customs beyond a license, and anyone who decides to create said customs is doing so illegaly. 3. A license can not anticipate everything. That doesn't mean we should violate the license. I stressed multiple times about the kindness, legality, etc of my proposal, and I am not going to stress again.
  21. @Snark that was impressive. I find no objection to your statements, and see all the problems with my reasoning. However, I have part of a mind directed towards this: (Of course, if "final duty" means "the generic thing to do" in this context) With my current understanding of modders, no matter what the rules are, no matter who has the right for what, the easier way will most likely be picked over the harder/ worse way. My goal here is to find a good, easier way to keep mods running with volunteers, letting mods remain in the communities, etc. To keep up in this discussion, I need you to explain to me the mindsets of modders, the methods they will choose over others, the reasoning that goes through their heads when they choose whether to let a mod "live or die". Otherwise, my mindset will not progress. Ok. No. Just no. Like... NO... Everything else you said had something to it, but this specific sentence is getting snipe'd by half the people here, just for its contradiction of Snark's five holy commandments. Yes, I am also trying to find ways around them. But what I'm doing is my own method of experimentation, to understand various concepts, rather than flatly contradicting them and saying that it is like that "in my world" (because everyone in the forums is currently operating under the forum's world, certainly modders). Oh, and I see you're a hacker. Not to be rude or degrading, but that is not exactly something to take pride in.
