So actually, the flight pattern is quite interesting. When departing earth, it would not use its engines. It would use the solar sail, which is indeed several kilometers in size. Lasers would push the vessel up to 70% of light speed. The shield would protect the vessel from the laser. Then it would turn around so that the shield (which is the back of the ship) would be at the front of the ship, acting as a whipple shield to protect it from interstellar debris. Upon arriving at Pandora, it would use its enormous engines to slow it down from cruising speed. Then it would refuel using hydrogen from Polyphemus (the gas giant). It would depart Pandora using the engines and slow down at Earth using the solar sail. The sail is never shown in the movie because it is stowed away during cruise.- 4,170 replies

Galactic Neighborhood does a similar thing, it adds stars but no planets. For planets you have to add various planet packs that have been released, GN reparents those planets around the new stars. And it doesn't modify the home system.- 4,170 replies

One thing to look out for though, not sure if this is common knowledge but I didn't know about it for a while and it made me think various planet packs were broken. If you hyperedit a craft directly into orbit from the surface of Kerbin, everything will move through space weirdly. Things will come off of rails during timewarp including planets, everything will just get messed up. This can be fixed by quicksaving and quickloading. After that, you can hyperedit around all you like without having to repeat the process.- 4,170 replies

It should work with hyperedit. I've used it with hyperedit. No reason a planet pack should make hyperedit not work.- 4,170 replies

Is the problem the same for all the cfgs that have it? Or is it different issues for different configs? Also is the issue something that requires knowledge of how MM works to fix or is it simply a matter of making simple changes. If it's just a question of someone needing to take the time to make some change for all the bodies, I'd be willing to volunteer my time to go through and fix them. Hmmm. I mean technically every celestial body has some form of atmosphere but with most bodies that we consider "atmosphere-less" it's just that they're so thin that for all intents and purposes it might as well not be there. Of course, more realism is better but if it causes higher timewarp to not be allowed because of the atmosphere then perhaps it isn't worth it? It's just my opinion on the matter, obviously it's up to you what goes in, but if people would prefer to have an option (I don't know if there are people with that opinion) where there's no atmosphere on bodies that only would have incredibly thin atmospheres then perhaps an optional config might be worth considering. Just my two cents, still love the mod- 4,170 replies

When I tried using SigmaDimensions with KSS it caused Kopernicus to not load the pack. I can provide logs if that would help but you said that if it doesn't work, there must be some changes to be made to the cfgs. What could be wrong in a config that would still allow the system to load normally (like KSS does) but not let it load when SigmaDimensions is used?- 4,170 replies

I was under the impression that it would just work out of the box as well, because it just scales everything up, but I tried it out and the pack failed to load when SigmaDimensions was installed.- 4,170 replies

On a separate note, I know there's no official support for it, but I was trying to use SigmaDimensions to scale up your pack, but it seems to cause Kopernicus to fail to load the system. I tested and SigmaDimensions works fine on its own, but not with your pack. While installing your mod, I noticed that for some reason, I could only get the clouds or the auroras to load. When both config files are there, only the auroras load. So I tested putting the contents of the aurora config file into the cloud config file (making sure the format is correct), which caused the clouds to load but not the auroras. I've heard of and seen this pack a few times but didn't take a good look at it until the other day. I must say, I think it is one of, if not the best planet/star packs available. I often find myself going back and forth between wanting to play in a RSS save and a Stock (scaled up) save, because I love certain features that are in the real solar system and I love some of the features available in the Kerbol system. I think your pack has the perfect blend between the two. You have managed to take the exact features I love about the real solar system and replicate them in the stock system in a way I have been (unsuccessfully) trying to do on my own. In addition you add in wonderful other star systems and provide visual enhancements for the whole interstellar neighborhood? It seems too good to be true. Thank you so much for your hard work, I can't wait to start flying in your system.- 4,170 replies

From what I gathered from earlier posts, it looks like using the advanced engines on space planes is possible, but are there any engines which can use intake air as the fuel, heated up by a reactor and exhausted out the back? I know those exist in KSPI, but I think it'd be great to see some in this pack as well. -

I experienced the same thing with the ground being lit up bright. I think the game thinks the other stars are closer and so Kerbin is being lit up by many stars or something. Not sure though, and no idea how I might fix it. -
What I would do is delete the config file for RSS in the Galactic Neighborhood folder. I think that should do the trick.
