1. I decided to attempt a Jool V mission- and I've never been past Minmus (Without cheats). But then I thought really hard about that idea, and I decided to kick out Tylo. I can land a spacecraft, but there is no way that I'm going to be able to land one on Tylo. Not to mention getting it there. I can barely even dock. So I decided to land on the other four moons. After several hours of building, I was ready. I got a transfer window, and sent all the landers to Jool, and then I built the transfer vehicle. Sending all of the kerbals up wasn't exactly a fun time, but I did it. So far, I have gotten my crew to Jool and landed them on Laythe. More will follow.
Jool IV Pt1- Getting there, Laythe
http://imgur.com/a/NGS43 (If the imbed doesn't work)
2. Thank you so much. I have been working on this story for a year now between schoolwork and real work and tasks and responsibilities, and it is my little pet project. I add a bit or edit a bit when I can, and your comments are a huge, huge, huge help. You were not patronizing at all. I will go add these things when I get the chance, and thank you so much.
3. Thanks! And good luck with your job... I can't speak to that kind of experience, but good luck anyways.
4. Absolutely! Anything to make the story better! (I'm guessing you live in Washington. I'm from Toronto, so I always imagined it there, but DC is a good setting as well)
5. A short story I wrote. It isn't anywhere near done, it needs polishing and editing, but I thought I could get some thoughts on it. Thanks! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rDcN72lDrIbS8XrRXV907bDHARhmaeBHl3J3MK6nsiE/edit?usp=sharing
6. Except they totally forgot about Canada. Since we did more than the Americans, if you mention them you have to mention us.
7. My great uncle was a lead scientist on the team that built the Apollo Telescope Mount for Skylab. As a direct result of this, I have an american flag that flew in space (I'm Canadian, so unfortunately no effect on my patriotism), and signatures of all the Skylab Astronauts. Also, I would marry you angel. I love everything that you do.
8. I haven't ever written FanFiction, especially for KSP. I love writing though (especially atmospherics and big scenes), and I should give this a shot, Thanks!
9. I always thought of kerbals as plants, but... wow. (The reproductive cycle would be the spores that puff out when they die, like dandelions)
10. I always thought of Kerbals as an advanced plant-based life form, hence the green, lack of throats, and very few external features. I like to think that they reproduce when they die. Those little puff-rings could be spores, who attach themselves to the ground, or another plant, or something, and grow into fully fledged kerbals.
11. I wish I went to your school (I assume it's a high school) Thank you so much! All the nice comments I'm getting really make my day.
12. Sorry for the trouble, I find mine too long. I'd like it changed from 'KosmonautwithacapitalK' to just 'Kosmonaut'. Thanks!
13. What's PvE? I play survival, but locked on peaceful, just to make things with an extra challenge. My only survival world is on the floating island that Mojang supplies, just to make my creations cooler and mining a little harder.
14. Yeah. I don't play it for survival, or PvP or anything. I just like all of the things that you can do, and finally seeing your creation. I have never made something this big before, and I'm so proud of my finished creation. That's what I play for.
15. Thanks! Ha! Minecraft is my second favourite game, and I think very underrated No, but if you notice, potatoes are one of the two main food sources!
16. So since people on the KSP forums are so nice, I know I won't be judged for being over ten and playing Minecraft. I was playing KSP, and I thought, 'What could I do to actually put something cool on the forums?', and I thought of this. I have spent the last few months on this, spending about an hour a week creating it, and I'd like to know your thoughts (If you have Minecraft, of course). Thanks!
17. Oh my days I finished Planetes recently and I am in love with that show. You may want to try Steins Gate. I know it isn't about space, but it has some real science, pop culture references, real science, excellent characters, real science, commonly accepted theories about time travel and real science. Also, the second season may be coming out soon, so watch
18. I think one thing that needs to be overhauled is the 0.625 parts. I know that it isn't that big of a problem, but they are so convenient to me. I know that there are mods, but I hate resorting to mods to do what the game should. A second thing is an overhaul of the planets tthemselves. Wouldn't it be awesome to have acid puddles on eve, volcanoes on tylo and glow in the dark algae and maybe even plants on laythe? And jool needs a small ring. I know that it's more like Saturn, but it would look better with a Jupiter ring. A third thing is an asteroid overhaul. Right now they are random objects careening around the solar system. They need more of them in orbits and actually on planets, like they crashed. They could have contracts attached: investigate the mysterious object...
19. First off, I'd like to thank you for being so kind to me, people don't tend to be that way on the Internet. Second, I think that that is a very good idea. You could also maybe do something similar in career mode (You can unlock different parts of the UI, or you start with basic maps of the planets, except kerbin of course, and only pictures of the far out ones, such as Eeloo, or any planet implemented in our suggestions). As you explore, you can launch space telescopes for more detailed maps, and actually launch things into orbit of them to find biomes.
20. No you are right, I just can't express myself properly... What I mean is a real world solar system at kerbal scale... Everything is smaller Wouldn't you in theory be able to have a reflective atmosphere, thus creating a sort of reverse greenhouse effect?
21. For the "Kid's mode" idea, I think that there should be a dulled down mode but not way less complex like you are suggesting. One of the fun things about KSP is it's complexity. I am 14 now, and have been playing KSP for at least two years and the demo for longer, and I never really had problems and still don't. As for the procedurally generated solar system, I think that there are multiple ways to do that. You could A) have multiple different solar systems with different difficulty levels on each. The player could choose each one. B) Keep the Kerbol System and have a procedurally generated "galaxy" of ten or so other solar systems. C) Do what you are suggesting, with choosing procedurally generated or stock with DLC and mod solar systems as an option, or my favourite, D) in which there are multiple planets, but not procedurally generated, as well as several example systems (with the different difficulty levels as suggested in A. An RSS-like solar system might be a good idea too for the ultra-realism players. You would then have the choice of a pre-made system (including kerbol and the possible RSS system), a randomized system, or you could create a custom sloar system to your needs and wants. Thanks for reading, I hope someone might find something useful in here.
