  1. Love this mod. Have gotten it to work kinda in windows. It's working great in linux64 but I cant get the city textures to work, any ideas?
  2. love this mod, thanks for all the work on it. Looks like I'm having the tweekscale issue as well. For me 2 things happen. I can build the ship, and set all the tanks and engines up with the GUI, but as soon as I launch all the resized engines default back to their original fuel settings (I'm using procedural fuel tanks, they keep their values). Once I go back to the VAB the guis are bugged and just display blank.
  3. Then they should have them left out instead of left them in not working? You can be critical of something you love, you don't have to make up excuses for it.
  4. wanted to do a SETI + FAR + Remote Tech + Life Support Iron Man Game Playing in 64bit Linux steam OS with about 40-50 mods. about 20-30 hours total, No crashes ever. It's free and really easy to install. The only semi-advanced part is finding your kerbal install folder and changing permissions so you can install + launch with mods. OS switching is annoying to me though...and I'm too lazy to compile CKAN for linux (steam OS is missing too many dependancies to compile, having trouble updating repos), also the state of Mods is annoying right now. Installed a new one that broke all my other mods (Linux folder merging is weird compared to windows). Also no directX shader effects. I think I'm going to take a break until the unity 5 switch and all the mods are updated. Hopefully 64 bit windows will be fixed. oh, FWIW SETI + FAR + Remote Tech + Life Support Iron Man Game is a lot of fun, but contracts are still boring, go for science sandbox
  5. I'm having a similar problem in steamOS. I was able to get everything setup and running kerbal from the nvidia optimized script. The game runs super fast, textures look good, but I can't get aliasing to work, so everything looks crunchy.
  6. thanks for the update Evilreeperx! will update, great work on the mod
  7. was having the same problem. Turned out to be a permissions issue. fixed it by running (from my steamapps/common/ folder) " sudo chmod -R 777 'Kerbal Space Program' " That grants all users total access to the space program files and should solve your issue.
  8. I had the problem as well. It goes away if i quit to space center than return to my craft. I thought it was a problem with RemoteTech, however, it might be a problem with ScienceAlert (it's the only relevant mod you and I share in common).
  9. Just installed Kerbal on SteamOS linux. Added the command to run it in 64 bit mode. copied over my save and mods directly from my windows install. Was able to play 3+ hours with lots of scene changes and no crash (quit on my own accord) had many mods on and never turned off temp gaduges. Never could play more than 45-1hour on windows (depending on number of scene changes) overall higher framerates, I got a few weird full screen artifacting happen a few times (same that has happened to me when trying to play on OSX), but it went away. I'm going to write a guide how to install dual-boot steamOS and install kerbal wtih mods, it seems like the best solution for crashing for players who play with mods. the new solution to crashing kerbal: "PLAY ON LINUX"
  10. I'm going to try kerbal on linux, as i keep getting memory related crashes. I'm curious if it's the fix-all-solution. Maybe the community should come up with a KerbalLinux Distro
  11. Thanks for the replies. I tired dumping the tank, and got the full 1812m/s without any overhead (which should get me into duna orbit) It must be something with Duna's atmosphere in 1.02 needing a LOT more delta-v The estimated delta-v is going down about twice to three times as fast as the delta-v I'm gaining. So your 3200 DV = orbit sounds about right...seems like you need 3 times as much delta v for duna atmosphere in 1.02...at least it's not just me!!
  12. I have 2000 DeltaV, and a spark engine. my TWR is >1...all the guides I see say duna needs 1300 delta v to get into orbit...but I can't get this into orbit...what am I doing wrong? thanks!
  13. Thanks for the response! Pretty new Science Sandbox save file (but not fresh), no older versions of Ampyear installed before. I'll try it again when i get home and if it happens again I'll post the log!!
  14. Just found and Really like this mod, but I'm experiencing a bug since installing. Whenever switching from VAB to the launch pad the keyboard/mouse becomes unresponsive to game play (can't click on anything/rotate the camera/launch/etc). I can push escape, If i quit to the space center, it starts zoomed in, and I can't move the camera. If quit to the menu reload, I can load the rocket from the launch pad, and play as usual. Any ideas? Don't want to uninstall, the battery backup idea is so good!
  15. As much as I like this mod in concept (and the music included is great). It's a really bad investment to your Kerbal mod collection, it simply uses too much memory. I've discovered putting your Kerbal soundtrack in a playlist of a music player program (I use foobar2000) is a much better way, as that memory does not count against Kerbal's hard limit. Hope this helps people's crashes. Thanks for the music included in this mod, I'm still using it!!
  16. any updates on this mod? It is by far my favorite mod in kerbal. It seems to be working OK in .9 but Mechjeb no longer works and I feel like i'm getting framrate drops great work on this!
