About me

  1. As the title asks what song or songs resonate with you or do you identify with on a near atomic level? If you feel comfortable feel free to say why this song or songs resonate do deeply with you, but an explanation is not required. Since I asked, I will share a song that I personally identify with, but, the why is personal so I will not share why. So my friends, how about you? 043011072022

  3. Hello, everyone! I'm very excited to release this. Thanks to @linuxgurugamer and @pizzaoverhead, I was able to create almost an entirely new soundtrack to Kerbal Space Program. I'll give a little bit of background about myself later, but here's what's included in the download. Description Over two hours of original music, composed and mixed by myself - inspired by Kerbal Space Program. There are specific songs for in and out of atmosphere on different worlds, specific songs for construction or space, specific songs for the influence of different bodies, and re-orchestrated and recorded/mixed a new version of the opening titles, using my composing software and libraries. The tone of music here is not stockalike. More about that below. What's Required In order to hear all this music, you need to have Soundtrack Editor Forked installed, along with its dependencies: Click Through Blocker, Toolbar Controller, and SpaceTux Library. These are not included in the download file here. You must get them on your own. Technical Details This adds a significant amount of music to the game, with songs ranging from 2 minutes to 6 minutes long. Expect a little bit of a hiccup every now and then when a new song is loading. Each song is exported as an .OGG file to try to help with compatibility. To Install Simply replace the Music and Playlist folder in the Soundtrack Editor mod with those in this mod. About Me This project has been a personal project I've wanted to do for years. In 2014 or 15, the KSP social media accounts shared some music of mine from SoundCloud that I had written, inspired by the game. I saw a lot of people really like that music, and when I found out about Soundtrack Editor, I always wanted to do this. Now, several years later, I finally found the motivation and time to do so! I'm a composer for short films, indie games, podcasts etc so composing music is not only part of my income, but a part of my daily life. I take a lot of pride in my music (I've even won an award for one of my scores!) and I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. The tone of the music I created for this project ranges from electronic to drone and ambient. I used a lot of synthesizers (both hardware and software) as well as orchestral libraries and live recordings of instruments I own to make this. It's very much inspired by artists such as Ólafur Arnalds, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Hildur Guðnadóttir, Hans Zimmer, Benjamin Wallfisch, and Rutger Zuydervelt. I wanted to make something that gives a different tone that stock KSP. The construction songs are still more upbeat, using electronic instruments and lo-fi beats, but once you get out of the VAB/SPH it's a different feel entirely. I do want to note: unfortunately I never got to Moho and Dres. They were the last two bodies that I was going to compose for, but I recently accepted a short film score and I didn't want to distract myself further from that. So for now, Moho and Dres are using the same track as Mun. Hopefully that's okay! Anyways, that's all for now I suppose. Post feedback below! License: If you like this music or the mods I do, please consider donating! Future I humbly request that you don't listen to this music outside of the game. I ask that you use your favorite free streaming service to listen to this music outside of the game. This way, I get (a very, very tiny amount of) money per stream. If you want to purchase the album, you certainly can, but I would ask that you donate directly to me instead (using the button below), otherwise major services get a cut of that amount. Selected songs from this mod are available under the album title "Celestial."
  4. 30 songs, and none of them by Kevin Macleod! With each celestial body having it's own dedicated track, 3 SPH/VAB tracks, 8 space tracks, and a fresh new title theme, Reach For The Stars aims to provide a cohesive musical experience to Kerbal Space Program. If you'd like, you can also listen on Youtube, Soundcloud, as well as Spotify and other streaming platforms! Dependencies: SoundtrackEditorForked (and thus, all of its dependencies) Install Instructions: 1. Download and install SoundtrackEditorForked 2. Download the ZIP file below 3. Place playlists.cfg into the Playlists folder. Replace your pre-exising playlists.cfg file. 4. Drag the folder named Reach For The Stars into the Music folder. Do not empty the contents of the folder into the base Music folder. 5. Load up KSP and enjoy! Shoutouts to Askerad, composer of Transfer Windows, for agreeing to compose a track for this! DOWNLOAD: Reach For The Stars I will attempt to release this on Curseforge and Spacedock in the coming days, but I've been having issues uploading the zip file to each site. My apologies
  5. What songs would you include in the KSP2 soundtrack is you had the chance? Also:
  6. All 48 minutes of music selected for the latest stream (And no, my real name hasn't been leaked with the link. It's just an alias) My favourite track starts at about 38:52, having a sort of thumpy motif near the middle.
  7. I imagined how will look like space skycrapers with fusion engines in KSP2, and remembered a beautiful serial from my childhood: Space Odyssey: Voyage to the Planets. I saw that I wasn't alone and many another people watched it. The most coolest moment from serial is starting sequance, the beginning. I have looked for OST for a year and finally I found that Don Davis downloaded complete OST on Youtube I believe it is perfect music to feel like a discoverer who starts voyage to kerbal system planets on your interplannetary spaceship with thermonuclear engine to research worlds far beyond your homeworld
  8. Anyone know if there is a way to get the KSP soundtrack on Spotify or Apple Music? I don’t really want to use YouTube, so any other apps would be helpful. (mobile, apple phone)
  9. The title pretty much says it all. Since I am asking all of you, I will share what I play (or rather used to, as it has been a while). Cello and before that the clarinet. I am actually looking to pick my Cello up again, but the instrument needs new strings and my bow likely needs new hair lol. So how about you? 035704012022
  10. I’ve been thinking about music I’ve heard recently while browsing the forums and looking at KSP 2 show and tell highlight videos. I’m wondering if Intercept will use the music in those show and tell highlight videos, as I really like it (for some reason reminds me of OG Fortnite music (I know FORTNITE CRINGE but that og song went hard)), if they have already decided on a soundtrack, or are open to suggestions. In that case, I would definitely recommend Askerad’s Home. Does anyone have any information regarding this?
  11. Red Stapler's Music Melomania Mod (RSMMM) Stock-alike Instrumental & Ambient Tracks for KSP RSMMM is a mod/add-on to Soundtrack Editor/Forked that adds 169 stockalike music and 57 ambient sounds in order to further enhance and add a bit of groove to your Kerbal Space Program experience. All tracks are instrumental, some are whimsical, some are loungy...all approved by the Kerbin Instrumental Sound Society (KISS). Reggae/Dub, Funk, Jazz, Disco, World, Classic Guitar, Latin/Brazilian, Blues, Mellow Rock, Loungy Stand up Bass Types, Groovy Space Rock, Futuristic Modern Spacey Stuff, Chilling in Space Ambiances, 1960s Star Trek TV Series sound-alikes, and a splash of Austin Powers-ish cutscene music to keep your Kerbals (or you) from going daft on long missions. - Downloads - Note: Soundtrack Editor Forked installation is required RSMMM (mod): GitHub | SpaceDock | CurseForge RSMMM (source): GitHub Image Gallery (Some late night ‘concert’ screen shots, just for fun) Sample Music Bummin on Tremelo Chill Wave Bicycle Deadly Roulette Secret of Tiki Island Sneaky Snitch Jellyfish in Space Eternity Kool Kats Your Call Additional music at: https://incompetech.com/music - This is Kevin MacLeod’s site http://freemusicarchive.org - Tons of music https://www.free-stock-music.com - More tons of music https://freesound.org - Gazillions of ambient sounds Installation You need to have Soundtrack Editor Forked already installed in your root KSP folder as per the instructions for that mod. Extract the entire contents of this zip to the KSP root folder, merging the Licenses, Music, and Playlists folders with the existing folders (RSMMM will not overwrite anything in these folders unless you have installed an earlier version of this mod). Open the Playlists folder, make a backup/rename your current playlists.cfg file and rename RS playlist.cfg* to playlist.cfg. * NOTE: RS playlists.cfg is a 'Read Only' file. REASON: If you are using the older Soundtrack Editor, it changes 'vesselState' to 'vesselSituation' when you save changes via the in game editor (affected playlists will not work correctly the next time you fire up KSP). Feel free to manually edit the playlists file but remember to make it 'Read Only' again or you will get musical 'surprises' in flight scenes. If you are using Sound Track Editor Forked, you can remove the 'Read Only' setting as this issue has been addressed but I am leaving the file as read only so it can be used with both editors/people running older stuff. 4. Launch KSP and enjoy the new instrumental and ambient tracks! Other/Helpful Info Opening Soundtrack Editor/Forked (per instructions from Soundtrack Editor): Start up KSP and go to the KSC or flight menu. Click on the music speaker icon in the application launcher to open the Soundtrack Editor. Adding custom music files (per instructions from Soundtrack Editor): Drop any new .wav, .ogg or .mp3 files you want to use into the Music folder, next to KSP.exe. These will be available to use in Soundtrack Editor playlists. You can create as many sub folders here as you want to organize the tracks. The ‘Not Used’ Folder (located in Music\RSMusic\Not Used): Contains a few tracks that were interesting but did not make the cut for now. Kept the files since others might find a use for them. Works great with other sounds mods (since it’s instrumental): I have Chatterer installed and both work great together. I just tweaked my sound settings a bit as I like the music lower in the background with sound effects & chatter a bit louder. 12. There has been a lot of favorite forums going around so i guess ill start this thread. (Not in order)
  13. How do I turn off the 'elevator music' in the VAB? It's driving me (more) nuts! TIA, Frank
  14. Tell me some music that would be good for being in KSP videos. It can be cinematic, space-themed, or anything else that suits being in a video. Make sure to say the artist along with the title.
  15. This is kind of a stupid question, but I really like the tracking station music, and was considering using it in a project of mine since I thought the KSP soundtrack was all Kevin MacLeod royalty-free stuff. Unfortunately, the wiki lists the source of the track in question as "unknown," and Google doesn't turn up anything either. So would any of y'all happen to know the source?
  16. As title. I've got a bit tired of the repetitive royalty free music in the game and wanted to come up with my own compilation. I'm probably going to have a bunch of Test Shot Starfish in there, since it's good space-y music, and maybe Starman, Space Oddity etc (this is going to be a mishmash), but beyond that I'm open to suggestions. What music is good for playing KSP?
  17. Soundtrack Editor The latest result of the Kerbal Sound Overhaul Project, this mod allows you to add and remove music from the game, and set up playlists which decide when each song plays. Always wanted to hear Blue Danube when docking with a space station, a metal version of KSP's theme song when you start up the game, or Danger Zone while you buzz the control tower? This is the mod for you! Just drop some music files in the KSP\Music\ directory, launch the game, and use the in-game playlist editor to choose when you want them to be played. A selection of free stockalike tracks are included from musician Kevin MacLeod, who created many of the tracks used in stock KSP. Several thousand more tracks are available for free at his website here. If you find any that work well with KSP, leave a message and I'll add it to a future sound pack. A replacement for the Kerbal Space Centre birdsong ambience is also included, edited from the original recording here. Currently .wav and .ogg filetypes are supported, as well as .mp3 on Windows (still working on a fix for Linux and Mac, but .wav and .ogg work fine). Click for full album Downloads CurseForge | GitHub Source included, project also available on GitHub licenced under GPL v2. If you've enjoyed this, consider donating a cup of coffee to help with late night coding: Included Tracks: Forest Investigations The Other Side of the Door Darkest Child Dragon and Toast Fairytale Waltz Martian Cowboy Mysterioso March Numiinous Shine On the Shore Peaceful Desolation Playlist Settings Enabled: This allows the playlist to be prevented from being played without deleting it. Loop: Once this playlist finishes playing its last track, it will start at the beginning and play all the tracks again, indefinitely. Shuffle: Before being played, the order of the tracks in this playlist is randomised. Pause On Game Pause: If this is selected, the track will stop playing when the pause menu is open. This is useful for atmospheric effects that shouldn't continue when time has been paused. Disable Once Played: Once this playlist has been played once, it won't be played again until you re-enable it again. Useful for setting up music for once-off, first-time events or achievements. Next Playlist: Once this playlist has finished playing, the playlist listed here will be played. Sort This Playlist Before: If multiple playlists are all valid to be played with the current situation, this playlist should be played before the one listed here. Sort This Playlist After: If multiple playlists are all valid to be played with the current situation, this playlist should be played after the one listed here. Preload Time (s): When changing between tracks in this playlist, the next track will be preloaded into memory this many seconds before the current track ends. This can be used to reduce gaps or stuttering between tracks. In Atmosphere: Whether this playlist should only be played if the active vessel is in atmosphere. Time of Day (KSC): Whether this playlist should only be played when it is a certain time of day at KSC. Twilight denotes that the sun is just below the horizon. This only works with the stock KSC. Schene: Which areas of KSP this playlist should be played in, for example the Tracking Station or SPH. "Flight" is the main rocket-flying game scene. Vessel Situation: What the active vessel is currently doing. Landed: Has been moved, but is currently in contact with the ground. Splashed: In an ocean. Prelaunch: Has not yet started moving quickly after being loaded. Vessels can stay in Prelaunch while moving slowly over land. Flying: Moving in atmosphere. Sub orbital: On a path that leaves the atmosphere of a body, but will fall back down to it again. Orbiting: In orbit around a body. Escaping: On a path that will cause the vessel to leave the current body's sphere of influence. Docked: Docked with another vessel. Camera Mode: What the current view is: Flight (normal view), map, external (?), IVA (inside a vessel), Internal (using one of the IVA window views), any (any camera mode, don't care). Body Name: The name of the body (e.g. planet, star, moon) that this vessel is currently in the influence of. This supports bodies added by mods, but be sure to spell them correctly. Vessel State: Use this to have a playlist played when a vessel has been destroyed (dead). Max Surface Velocity: This playlist won't be played if the vessel is going above this speed as displayed in the navball's "Surface" mode. Min Surface Velocity: This playlist won't be played if the vessel is going below this speed as displayed in the navball's "Surface" mode. Max Orbital Velocity: This playlist won't be played if the vessel is going above this speed as displayed in the navball's "Orbit" mode. Min Orbital Velocity: This playlist won't be played if the vessel is going below this speed as displayed in the navball's "Orbit" mode. Max Altitude: This playlist won't be played if the vessel is above this altitude (relative to sea level, as displayed in the main altimeter). Min Altitude: This playlist won't be played if the vessel is below this altitude (relative to sea level, as displayed in the main altimeter). Future plans "Close" button in the main window. More options for playlist settings (suggestions welcome): Apoapsis max/min. Periapsis max/min. Vessel has a target selected. max/minDistanceTarget, max/minVelocityTarget. "Ascending" and "Descending" options, so that fast launches and re-entry can be separated. Vessel has reentry flames. Option to wait until end of current track before switching. Option to wait until end of playlist before switching. Fix KSP issues with music playing during loading scenes. Done. Fix "SpaceCentre" scene also playing for the Astronaut Complex, Mission Control, R&D, Administration Building. Done. MP3 support for Linux and Mac. Tracks for launchpad/runway load and launch. Biome-specific music. Short fanfare tracks for achieving something for the first time. Situation-specific music: re-entry, parachuting, part destroyed. Mostly done (v4.0). Save playlist position on exiting the game. Use files that are in external folders: Point Soundtrack Editor at your music library. In-game IVA music player with RPM support and optional upgradeable sound quality. Playlists for every scene, not just construction and space. Done. Celestial body-specific music: Orbit, atmospheric flight, surface travel, engine burns. Done (v4.0). Redesign of the cfg to support all of the above. Done (v3.0). Unloading tracks not currently being played from memory; streaming from disk. Done. Support for multiple shuffled tracks for situations that don't currently support them (e.g. the main menu theme). Done. Playlist priority/merging when multiple playlists are appropriate. Done (v4.0). Optional GUI elements: Playback control, track name/artist toasts, in-game playlist editor. Done (v4.0). 18. Hey there, To immediately get to the core of my post – I would like to share with you a handcrafted 13+ hours playlist with the finest, strangest, most epic and most remote tunes for endless Kerbal Space Program sessions (and other space adventures): https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2Tso1b4pgou9GFyJ6q4Lry I know that attitudes towards background music for playing KSP vary greatly. For me, atmospheric background music was always something to greatly increase my rocketry pleasure – especially on these very long deep space missions. However, I could not find a playlist anywhere which fulfilled my (admittedly astronomic) demands regarding quality, length, variety and space-relatedness. Hence, I had to create a playlist of my own – and since I have spent years to assemble it, I thought I might as well share it for the pleasure of my common space farers. The musical styles range from epic mainstream scores to serious electronic, classical, indy, ambient and experimental music. The playlist starts rather pop-ish but soon descents into the void of minimal experimentalism – sort of. Most songs are instrumental, they are all are suitable for background enjoyment and have some connection to space, in one way or the other. I hope you enjoy it. See you up there! (Oh, and yes, I registered for this forum three years ago just to post this. But you know, sometimes you get stuck in a very unfortunate orbit, leading you faaar away...)
  19. KMX 1.1 contains 120 music tracks. 23 original tracks, plus around 100 tracks that I personally liked a lot, which originate from Jahzzar and Red Stapler's Music Melomania Mod. 20. Where are the game files for music? How do I change them? Thank you!
  21. Looking for music that appeal to the Ksp community for a channel debuting in April, Music Requirements: -Copyright free -free -preferably without lyrics If you have any suggestions give me a song title and link below, -theLizard
  22. So I find that the background music for KSP isn't the most exciting stuff in the world. I'm making a playlist for while I'm playing. Does anyone have a similar playlist, and if so, what all is on it? ALSO, COME SUPPORT OUT ME KERBAL CHANNEL!!! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkrhECdyyuDUReHIGkchbUQ
  23. I want to know how you replace the game's music (or even just sound) files with my own audio files, if this is possible.
  24. Hi, we all know music is one of the worst features of the game. In fact, many players (including me sometimes) play without any music neither sound. But more flavor would be added to the game if each celestial body had its own music,..
  25. Until someone comes out with a band named The Boosters, could there possibly be a more Kerbal group than; The Struts ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hc3XIbUuTMc
