US Space Budget: Hell-Has-Frozen-Over Edition
Zucal replied to Streetwind's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Please prove that. -
I want to clarify that I am not the leaker, I've just cross-posted this from the /r/SpaceX subreddit. I also disapprove of leaking in cases like this, but the fact stands that this is not only extremely interesting information, but it is extremely public information. To restrict discussion of such relevant information is pointless, you can't stuff the cat back in the bag.

TO BE UPDATED FURTHER ________________________________________________________________ Welcome! This thread is where I host all my craft, complete with stats, albums, and downloads. I specialize in replicas, past, present, and future, of all kinds of craft. I'll also have a completely original idea from time to time too, so don't worry. Everything here will always be stock, and unless specifically stated will be compatible with the current game version. Happy browsing, and happy landings! Built by the Soviet Union, it made only two flights before being discarded. It lives on, however, in KSP! Beware! It's a bit wobbly, so mind your ascent. Launch vehicle of choice for the Dragon v2. [Spoiler: Falcon 9 Details] The Falcon Heavy is the next launch vehicle due to come from SpaceX, set to fly for the first time this year. It will be the most powerful rocket to fly since Energia and the Saturn V! Major props to Mad Rocket Scientist for helping me test this. If you're reading this, you're a lifesaver. You can have it sooner than that though, with this stunning replica. Props to MRS for the inspiration for the boosters. Instead of parachutes, it will use a novel propulsive landing system. That's just one of many features the KSP version shares! The second thing I thought was "I could build a telescope using that." And here it is!
This isn't a question! This is a request! Takes 30 seconds to move a thread and I am 120% within my rights... so whats up with the delay Van? You've always been there to help and I respect you for that, but what's the deal here?
The moderators probably don't have the time to deal with their usual responsibilities and a horde of users asking for their threads to be transferred over. They don't have the time to check through 100-page threads to eliminate any instance of roleplaying. They've got a lot to do, and asking them to take on all this doesn't seem right when you can do it in minutes with the Wayback Machine or a few screenshots.
*facepalm* just saw the OP. I apologize for being so incredibly stupid. I know a few people who would be happy to hear that. Thanks, Zucal. Pardon my idiocy. I was debating on a nonexistent issue.
No problem!
That's what many are trying to do. They just don't have time. Archiving 200 pages takes a lot of time.
Then it's a good thing there'll be an archive of the subforum for a while following the switchover, isn't it? :)
Zucal, do you have any threads you are fond of? A craft, a story or video, or even just a really funny discussion that you like to look at from time to time? Now imagine that being lost, times a hundred.
Screenshot the discussions. Download the crafts. Bookmark the videos. Copy your threads. Ta-da.
I might get banned for this, but since SQUAD is intent on destroying so many people's work, IDGAF. I know the Rocket Builders section has had problems. I won't point fingers, because at some point, everyone in that section, including myself, has done some sort of roleplaying. However, we haven't had any incidents in nearly a year. Most of us just want to build things, and enjoy the collaboration of working in a group. Like any group, there were a few bad eggs. I know that my voice has no meaning to them. Heck, after the past few days, I don't think any of the Rocket Builders have a voice anymore. The writing is on the wall, and I doubt anything can change it. So, to any mods or staff members who see this, I have one thing to say: I hope you're happy. You have alienated several upstanding community members, people who have been kind and helpful on this forum for years, people who loved KSP and this forum with a passion I have never seen; your actions have driven them away for good, and angered many more by showing them that their voices are meaningless. I know it's your forum at the end of the day, and I understand that you can manage it as you wish; but please, don't push so many away for the actions of a few. I have loved this forum from the day I logged in. The community here is the kindest, most brilliant group I have ever been part of. I love it here, but I cannot abide what is being done. I will not beg or plead for the Rocket Builders to be saved, but if this plan is implemented, know that it will tarnish the image of SQUAD permanently, both in my eyes and the eyes of many others.
It's literally just the discontinuation of a low-activity subforum. You can make another thread in the Spacecraft Exchange and continue life normally, so long as you stay away from role-play drama. That's it. It's less work for Kasper/Badie/the mods, and it'll liven up the Spacecraft Exchange.

Open Source Construction Techniques for Craft Aesthetics

The new Mk0 intake is great for portholes. -
IMO the Mk3 capsule should hold 4, like Orion. That would make it competitive with the Mk2 passenger module. But we really do need station and base parts, it's an area sorely lacking in the game. We have three crew parts (cupola, laboratory, and hitchhiker) for in-space use. It's kind of insane that in a game about space exploration we have more kinds of jet engines than we have places for Kerbals to live.
