Here's my submission for the K prize using 2 rapiers, a nerv engine and no oxidiser on board. I landed back on the KSP runway so I think this means the Advanced pilot precision award! You can see the full pictures on this post or on imgur.

SSTOs! Post your pictures here~
iLikeRovers replied to KissSh0t's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Here's my first successful liquid only SSTO, its made stable by bringing that Nerv and CoM forwards as much as possible. I reckon I could put a small payload on it since it had ~151 spare fuel. I'm not sure if the pre-coolers are necessary. It should work for the K-prize anyway! Construction complete. An overview of my jouney All systems go. Always good to test the nuclear rocket before lift off... I think I can pull off 1400 m/s on the rapiers alone. How it looks in orbit Then I engage the nuke Then coast when I reach a good AP Not that much more to circularise. Atmospheric insertion I use all of my wing surface to slow down below 900m/s before a precision landing After a successful landing! -
Will this do?

@ Kuzzter. Thats great that you're finishing Laie's good work. Kudos! -

Thanks Kuzzter! Glad you enjoyed the glide to sea; that landing was scary! I'll avoid packing kerbals that close together in the future, I think when one of the Kerbals got out of the seat it glitched the other two into a catatonic state and out of the save game state. I'd say Astrobound inspired the high altitude landing and glider. I should visit that mountain one day... I don't know how optimal my launch was, I'd have to memorise the terminal velocities through the atmosphere and the best gravity turn profile! I did manage to do a practice launch at ~ 5000m when I was trying to land on that damn plateu. (polishes badge) -
The Eve Rocks Challenge (v0.90 only)

Hi Kuzzter. Thank you very much for taking the time to review my submission I've always seemed to have problems with imgur albums; I can upload a batch of individual photos, but the website breaks when I try to create an album, either before and after I've uploaded. Hopefully its not too inconvenient! -
Rover Base Jumping anyone?
iLikeRovers replied to iLikeRovers's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
See the (half empty) fuel tanks and side rockets? I drove from KSP and launched from the base of the cliff, landing on a small plateau is tricky! Hmm, I'll have to think about how to fit a large rover into a cargo bay... Parachutes only, I might pop the wheels on landing -

Aww, that sounds way too safe! -
The Eve Rocks Challenge (v0.90 only)
iLikeRovers replied to Laie's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Here's my last minute submission before 1.0 comes out! Two bunches o'sparagus pointed to the sky, then one bunch o'sparagus perched up high. (6867 m high) I think this is the highest reasonably sized plateau on Eve, I name it Pinks Peak! Coordinates of Pinks Peak: -15.0513, -31.4648 At Kerbin Launch: 702 parts, 4636.8t, 2 210 621 Koins At Eve Launch: 200 parts, 355.6t, 227 533 Koins Eve Orbiter: 30 parts, 16.2t, 34 516 Koins There is some rule bending which may cause problems. -1 The craft is almost all in the VAB white circle. I realised a bit late and I suppose I could tuck it all in, there's plenty of space between the tanks! -2 Those rovers I flew over separately when I was scouting for a high plateau. They are only 1.5 tonnes. If its bad then just ignore the epic glide to the sea sample. I lost two great Kerbals there! -3 I use no mods, no hyperedit, no MechJeb. So I use f5 and f9 ALOT to get such a precise landing. This is my 2nd successful eve launch (1st without Kerbals) -4 Two of my Kerbals glitched out of existence. I don't know why, four Kerbals were meant to return home, I will always remember you Lodbles and Kengun Kerman! Let me know if you need .craft files or more detailed movies. Hope the judges and everyone else enjoys it! Imgur albums are still not working for me so have these links. Kerbin launch to ELO Video of landing, this was hard! Exploring Pinks Peak Video of epic glide to Explodium sea. Paddling in the sea and the drive back. Video of launch! The journey back home. -

Less potatoey. -
Addin was fine, he didn't fall off the cliff.

Set action groups midflight

Yep, I'd love this feature to be in the stock game. It would make spacecraft prototyping less painful given the loading times between the VAB and launch pad. Edit: There are mods... -
What the crap is this??!
iLikeRovers replied to SlabGizor117's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Ah thanks, now I know what not to do! Restarting KSP 0.9 does get old quickly... -
With your permission 1of6Billion: I've had a go at making a badge. I think I finally know how paths work in GIMP!

Here's my submission to the Grand Orbital Space Station Challenge. I might be abusing the number of safe seats points mechanism. I probably could have gone for a direct Laythe aerobrake manoeuvre and have all my payload fuel plus more. No mods so I was doing everything by eye. My points calculation: 274.4 tonnes payload * 100 = 27440 (Not sure what my final payload is, I've a full 32 tank and Mainsail Skipper extra) 4536.1 tonnes launch * -2 = - 9072.2 (see 2nd picture) 328 Kerbals * 100 = 32800 320 Comfortable seats * 200 = 64000 Manned Science lab = 500 Total: = 179667.8 * 3 (Laythe) = 539003.4 I can't get the imgur album to work , so have a look here : http://imgur.com/gLVhpdr,7CbRQgM,7t5P4qJ,aTJRWUO,9czCkbz,7I6xnZy,DsQ5f5a,To9tTWI,hQJRYyz,oqKmHHA,HUfISHP,AgdXj4B,iaI0KO5,ezToIsS,pFXAJN0,B2uJuCX,OSg420q,utM5Z1r,6UfDIyr,feGnNl3,VmtFoCn,TBh9r7f,Hqc07ss,ssU6uJk,HgLrHRq,ouXJtOz,d36dxid,Kfpg6b1,u9Ir77x,7m5WG1n,wzq6PPh,OecUE8e,7ZAa2nP,sgmSlti,r2i8bTN,8eyKcFx,YgzCv1o,V42Ssxw,kPyGMeL,cTqKcqh,tSuVpaM,rBuEMD1,2OdscLD,zM1tioU,A4VwXNu,ecGAnFQ,smLB1yX#0 Do ask if you want more info! Edit: Its a Skipper engine...

Hi Tao Here's me starting in the VAB, the video doesn't show the beach ball, but you can see how I'm wriggling the mouse at the end! http://www./watch/nkw9383aa6ksvfc/VAB-build-bug.mov I've also included one of my epic rovers where I can reliably crash KSP by putting an object on the left or right rear end when I'm in symmetry mode. But that is probably more similar to the other bug you mentioned. http://www./download/s02wjpxdfz7cff6/LRC.craft http://www./download/drjf9ln3ny2g0z5/KSP-LRCcraft.log

Its Mac OS X 10.7.5. Its mentioned in the KSP.log file. I don't think its a RAM issue. I've upgraded 4 -> 16 GB last week and it still happens. A video may take a while for me to set up; find and install video capture software, sign up to youtube etc... I'd rather avoid doing that, but if the Squad team would like to take a closer look, or you can show an easy way to do so, then I will. Did you shove the Lander Can high up until it clipped the ceiling?

I first came across this crash when making my big creations 2 months ago, its been preventing me go all Kerbal on my designs , but I wanted to find if I could reproduce it with a simple craft. Now I have. I'm interested to see if anyone else can break KSP this way too. Reproducing bug: - Load up KSP and go straight to the VAB. (I'm in Sandbox mode) I use purge* to free up my RAM cache on mac . So I have ~600 MB left over. - Place the Mk1 Lander Can (other parts probably work too). - Offset the can high up so its near the top of the VAB - Note that Alt select on the Lander Can doesn't work (I think that's normal...) - Place a Structural Fuselage on the bottom (Alt-no-side-attachment-placement sometimes helps here) - Alt select that Structural Fuselage as though you were going to duplicate it - Enjoy the The Spinning Beach Ball of DeathTM. Amount of RAM usage seems not to increase, CPU starts working hard. Machine setup: No Steam involved. build id = 00705 2014-12-15_13-59-25 Branch: master Player.log: http://www./download/p6swgahod5n6r77/Player.log KSP.log: http://www./download/iu8mhw04udyxio4/KSP.log System crash log: http://www./download/ur4m70x5xjn2ws5/KSP_2015-03-30-195252_Iains-MacBook-Pro-2.hang Happy bug hunting! * purge(8) BSD System Manager's Manual purge(8) NAME purge -- force disk cache to be purged (flushed and emptied) SYNOPSIS purge DESCRIPTION Purge can be used to approximate initial boot conditions with a cold disk buffer cache for performance analysis.
