  1. lol that video made my day. in a youtube comments section: "how do I comment on this video?" similarly, from a website Q&A: Q: I do not have access to a computer or the internet, is there any way I can access this website? A: If you don't have any internet access, how did you post the question?
  2. "That's One small... oh for ***k's sake" *Camera turns to reveal large SpaceX mars city*
  3. "The earth has to be flat, because if it was round everyone below the equator would fall off into space"
  4. When I first saw the title for this thread, the first thing that came to my mind was 'H-how's it goin' bros...'
  5. Non-serious comment: At this rate, with LBSP, upsilon aerospace and the guys at http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/85895-Getting-a-Kerbal-into-space%21, soon every KSP'er will be in space... leaving me here alone and stuck on earth. Serious comment: you should really check out the above link (especially the comments I made in it), also, don't try to reach space in sugar rockets. the isp and thrust are simply unworkable Do you have any idea how hard building and designing a multi-staged rocket is? It is not just a matter of adding a decoupler then resorting the staging list. You have to sort out: - the small explosive charge that separates the rocket - timing the charge to go off just after the bottom stage has burned out - a system for remotely igniting the upper stage engine at a specified time - setting the time to just after the bottom stage has ejected - structural components for firmly connecting the upper stage and its engine(s) to the lower stage - a lightweight flight computer that can do all the above timing to an accuracy of +- 0.1-0.5 seconds It is not impossible, but it is incredibly difficult to do and the total cost of the rocket goes up quite a bit. Ah, I remember using that program a lot. But I must say, I have never managed to build a rocket with that that even leaves the troposphere with a +100kg payload Just goes to show how difficult it is to reach space on commercially available rocket engines. I do believe one day I will design a rocket that can pass the 30km mark with an eraser-sized payload, though. I cannot emphasize this enough.
  6. "I think there are, like, 50 hours in a day" "The moon landing were faked because no aliens were shown! if it were real we would be seeing entire alien cities there, not just rocks and mountains!"
  7. This has gone above and beyond my expectations:D Okay, this is the only part I am a little unhappy with. If the NSWR's isp is this low, then it will not be worth the trouble of using it, gameplay-wise. The ideal isp should be somewhere between 6000 and 20,000. Good point. If I can think of anything new this engine could also do I will let you know. I have been thinking about this, and if we are trying to make an all-in-one magnetically confined fusion engine, how about we add two separate pulsed plasma 'gears'? One would have a moderate thrust and a moderate isp (like the current pulsed plasma mode), and the other would have, perhaps, one quarter the thrust and 4x isp? Since both modes would have the same 'thrust power', gameplay would stay balanced. This also removes the need for a second magnetically confined fusion engine. Anyway, I don't want to monopolise this thread too much, so now I'm probably just going to sit back and see what happens...
  8. Well, while the concept of round voxel planets is exciting, looking at the website did not answer my main two questions: - is this available on steam - what does actually playing the game look like? how does the gameplay itself compare with minecraft?
  9. Great news, I have just uploaded my first youtube video and have a second one which I will upload tomorrow, it can be seen at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKY7V44Z9SzK4LJcy4cTcRA/videos Much feedback would be appreciated:D
  10. What... How... Okay, I am going to need hundreds of dollars now...
  11. Same problem here. In the end I was defeated to mars by a small company called 'SpaceX'. How does 'SpaceX' expand into space faster than me, when my space program is decades older? They can even save money by reusing their rockets! If you look in the config you will find the two colors are named 'democrat' and 'republican'. Neither will let me do anything, though Exactly! Because of this I cant use any of my traditional methods to reach space (cannon, mega powered decouplers, etc) because they are considered 'unsafe'. And every launch has to include useless things like parachutes, life support systems and other useless dead weight. I have heard that the likelihood of this happening is proportional to the amount of science the mission would have given.
  12. I always wear a non-smart watch (a dumb watch?) at school. I personally think that, like google glass, smart watches will take a long time to kick off. The technology is simply to primitive right now. So I will probably stick with my dumb watch for a while longer.
  13. It is quite ironic you say that, because I actually tested my screen recording software in Space Engine.
  14. Granted, it is released by EA I wish for plutonium, and a hazmat suit so I don't get radiation poisoning
  15. 1/10 im a human the N1 rocket is successful = Soviet Russia lands on the moon first = America extends the space race to mars = somebody lands humans on mars Pros: history becomes a lot more interesting Cons: Kessler apocalypse happens much earlier, Communist Russia still exists
  16. Okay, with my first KSP video about to be uploaded now, this poll is now 'What should my first gaming video be other than KSP'
  17. Thanks! My first video should be up sometime today!
  18. Hello, today I am planning on recording my first youtube video , which will be the start of a stock KSP career mode series. However, the KSP game I have has a bunch of mods installed, and I do not want to get rid of them. So how do I have two separate KSP saves, one which is modded and one which is not?
  19. Yes, it is sad that people will trust what they say more than what doctors and scientists say. In the end, their diety-like public appearance it is all down to media manipulation. See my earlier posts for when this could change.
  20. http://io9.com/what-would-the-perfect-planet-look-like-1503442354
  21. Also, how will the rival space program fly their spacecraft? Will it be a mechjeb-like autopilot? Would that mean there would be no 'pilot error'? Will there be procedurally-timed rocket failures? Will their spacecraft even be shown in the tracking station?
  22. The main 'exciting space age' for the public will probably be between the colonization of the moon/mars and the point where the outer solar system colonies start getting 5-digit population figures. Before that, not enough people will have gone into space for the public to take it seriously. After that, it all becomes normal life for everyone. The first interstellar expedition, the first discovery of microbial alien life and the first terraforming operations may kick off smaller hypephases.
