  1. So today - i reported a bug. .. and i crashed ... KSP ... literally .. i am sorry
  2. Today i had some fun around Duna! .. and i've tried and tested different SSTO types (carreer mode 1.1!) - speaking of .. it took about 4000 science to get there... This is the concept which brought me to orbit and back ...
  3. Today i am focusing on Minmus! Testing new landing gear for next missions on Minmus: New probe to find a good landing spot on Minmus: With plenty of fuel left, i decided to visit Minmus for the 1st time (in this career ): and Val did an exellent job! With all that new data - it was time to get some SCIENZE from Minmus! So i developed a movable lab, and dockable station... Meanwhile - my first ore scanner arrived at minmus ... with all the data collected - it was time to launch a station to Minmus... .. which arrived 40min later at its previously scouted destination: second launch of the mobile lab .. Touchdown! .. and finally the lab arrived and docked at 1st Minmus science base
  4. Its just misspelled - should be "The Launch"
  5. Started with building a space station in orbit of the Mun (contract): Launched a second stage to rondevouz: Rescued some kerbals from space Made some kerballike fireworks: Placed some probes: It was a busy and successfull day in KSP
  6. Loaded my latest 1.o.5 savegame into 1.1 - works like a charm.
  7. Teached Val how to land in a "proper" angle on Mun And created some nice reentry effects...
  8. Its custom - my art/nickname/callsign
  9. Tried to get to Eve - but crashed on Gilly Well - lets describe it as: bouncing over Gilly... until engines blew up...
  10. There is hate? Well here is some love for ya
  11. I am really curious about this too! The only mods i (ever use) are KER and KAS (<- this is a must have in stock too!)
  12. When you right click every screen/video to get a better view on the scene ... When you start calculating masses and deltaV of common objects around you .... When you cant take alien movies serious anymore because all you see are not green aliens, but kerbals...
  13. Thats funny - i NEVER played sandbox - and i never will I like the "progression" while you slowly work toward different goals (credits/tech/new planets)... its also alot harder because mistake DO matter! If you loose a good pilot or fail a mission, you create own content (like a rescue mission) on a regular base. Where is the challenge if everything is available from the start?
  14. Oh - i forgot to mention something which helped me alot to get used to docking, especially if you are not using any alignment mods! Rightclick on the dockingport of your current vessel which you want to dock in, and select "control from here" - also select the docking port you are heading to (if in view range) and select "set as target". This allows a much more precice approach because normally you controll your craft from the manned capsule which might result in "false" angles or false distances shown! Also try to avoid asyncron ship shapes, where your center of mass/thrust is off your RCS or main engine - makes docking alot harder. 2cents
  15. Was in career mode - took me about 2-3 weeks and alot of tutorials to get it done - by now its almost too easy. (I never used mods to dock btw - simple, plain keyboard controls!) But that was way back in version 0.12 or 0.13 ....
  16. Did 1st Mun landing with 3 crew members (Engineer, Scientist, Pilot), gathered 350+ science on way to Mun and back, fullfilled 6 contracts (ferrying, probe launching, exploring etc.) and failed to created a plane which is able to fly around kerbin nonstop Lots of fun, explosions and screaming kerbals! Oh yea - restarted career mode 1.o.5 ^^
  17. I dont think those engines suck. I am currently "replaying" career mode in 1.0.5 (waiting for hypetrain 1.1 to arrive), and had some very interesting experiences so far with all the low tech engines. Right now i am doing some very own challenges by building rockets which fit exactly the deltaV amount of the deltaV map (here), i.e going to land on the mun with a rocket with exactly 5150deltaV. All done with LVL-909 and LV-T45 and the only mod i use is KER for basic information (mass/speed etc.) In the end on my way back from Mun to kerbin, i had about 19seconds of fuel left (180deltaV), had no orbit around mun and was about 700k km away from aerobraking into kerbins atmosphere. So instead of breaking, i accelerated towards kerbin for 8seconds, slingshotted around it, just to hit the mun on the other side again, which then slingshotted me again (after 10seconds of reverse thrust) towards kerbin but now with an periapsis of 33k meters. Two more orbits and a small burn of the left fuel later, i was splashing down safely into the kerbin ocean with 350 science on board. What i want to say, even with proper planning and exact calculations, your results may vary (bad vectoring, missing burn windows and stuff) and you have to improvise or just engineer the crap out of your given tools to hit your goal. Its possible, but sometimes, you need to "think around the corner" (german saying). And if all fails - just add more boosters
  18. From what my understanding is - you HAVE TO establish a solid polar orbit to be able to scan the surface. No "fly by" scanning possible. So - i assume it works as intended.
