Note: I wasn't sure if this was the right place to post this. Please notify me if there is a better location for questions like this to be posted. I was wondering if Squad had any restrictions based on the use of the names of Kerbals, the Planets, or the names of the parts in the game. Like if anyone were to write an unofficial story about the wonderful adventures our favorite little green men, or maybe a short film about them (like Matt Lowne's in-game-created movies), even if it isn't taken directly from the game (in the form of screenshots or screen-captured video clips). Based directly on intuition, I would assume you can reference the stuff from the game without any trouble, just remembering to credit Squad in any credit rolls.

I remember I watched Robbaz for quite a long time, playing KSP. It was really funny, especially the VSP series and THE CUBE! Also at that time I found Scott's channel as well. Then I bought the game at 0.25 I guess. Later in 1.9 I built the very first hanging base under one of the Münar arches. It was before the anchor was implemented (1.12). Love you guys. Thanks for this miracle!

I decided to CREATE a poll on favorite features of KSP2. i am creating this Poll for free use and to collect data from Die-hard KSP Fans (like me) and create a graph to see the best feature of KSP2. And no im not involved in the creation of KSP2 although i DO have some Hookups Who do know about KSP2 development. Anyways, feel free to use the poll, it really helps both me , you, other fans, and the developers who moderate and review these forums. Sincerely- DAFATRONALDO2007 IN SPACE

@SQUAD Thank you for honoring the MERs and Curiosity in the new update. I am an avid admirer of the rovers and it made me quite upset to learn that Opportunity didn't survive the Martian 2018 sandstorm. So thank you again for honoring their memories and legacy. For those that don't know, there are three robotic rover arms in three sizes. OP-E - Oppy - Opportunity - Possible power failure with batteries, sandstorm more than likely covered the panels too, meaning no power at all SPRT - Spirit - Opportunity's Twin - Got stuck in a sand in a ditch CRSY - Curiosity - Still going strong Although, I find it funny how CRSY is the smallest rover arm, when Curiosity is the biggest rover to date. Same goes for OP-E. Small rover IRL, big rover arm in game. Well, I guess that's the joke huh? Big things from a little package? Anyway, I just wanted to thank all you guys for what you did. It means a lot, and I probably speak for quite a few people who also admired the rovers.

If Squad ever decided that they were going to implement modded planet/solar system packs into the stock game, which would they be and for what reason? Eg, implementing Extrasolar along with more powerful engines, (would it end up becoming to much, having to implement parts to get there and antennas). What are your thoughts?

Hello, It is simply not possible that the game can only be played in English. Even the console version does not yet have a German language! If you release a console version and want to reach new players who have never played KSP before and don't know much about space travel, then you don't know English well and are overwhelmed with technical terms in a foreign language, then a excrementsstorm can be triggered very quickly. Especially if the game still has bugs that you have to find before the release. Why doesn't Squad get a German or other language into the game? Even Stardew Valley, developed by a developer, is available in many languages. Even in German! KSP has been around for five years and the most important languages are still not in play! This is just embarrassing! I strongly assumed that the console versions are finally playable in German. In the Developer Blog this was announced also largely. I'm just disappointed about this development at Squad. That's why I didn't buy the game on PS4. Only if it will include the German language. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator

Just a quick query to @SQUAD With the Making History expansion coming out sometime "soon", I figured it might be an idea to ask if the developers had a preference where people would purchase the DLC when it does eventually come out? I ask as if there is any choice in the matter, I'd like to choose that my money to the developers directly and not have that money divvied up between various intermediate parties that doesn't directly benefit the developers other than distribution of KSP. Is buying the DLC directly from the KSPStore actually a more beneficial option that via something like Steam or GOG? Also, pre-empting a question that might arrive from my thread - if someone purchases via the KSPStore, can they then register that DLC purchase via steam to get the best of both worlds? i.e. I assume that with this option, all money would go to the developers AND people could have the DLC on their desired platform (for those that use Steam) (for the record, I'll be purchasing the DLC via the store as I don't use Steam for KSP and prefer the manual install)

Hi, i just read an article on Gamestar und in this video from minute 20 stating that Valve has employed a good portion of the developers of KSP around five to six months ago. I haven't have heard anything of this yet. GameStar is even speculating that maybe Valve bought Squad. The article also states that Valve answered to a request that "they" were hired, not stating if they meant Squad of some of the developers. What do you think about this? I think that maybe squad has employed the teammembers that left Squad not too long ago. Wouldn't such big news have been around for a while if Squad was taken over by Valve? Can maybe @UomoCapra or @Badie shed some light on this?

After watching the recent KSP News episode by Rapid Viper, which can be viewed here: I couldn't help but feel extreme anger to know that SQUAD has decided to push probe telemetry back to a later update, possibly into 1.2. Viper explains that the functionality of the telemetry is very buggy and just wouldn't be fun to play with. This is understandable, but I can't help but feel as if SQUAD could have just delayed the update a couple weeks or so. I would HAPPILY sit for 2-3 weeks if it meant that the features I've been waiting AGES for would be, in my opinion, in the most hyped update in a while. You may feel differently, and I do NOT intend on throwing any heat at SQUAD; I love Kerbal Space Program, it's one of, if not my most favorite game on Steam. I'm just a little (make that severely) disappointed. Probe telemetry was my most anticipated feature of 1.1, as I was dreaming of making my own version of the TDRS system (reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tracking_and_Data_Relay_Satellite_System ). Now that I got that out of my system, I would like to hear your guy's opinions on the matter. Were you disappointed as I was, or largely unaffected by this delay? If you didn't, feel free to post your thoughts. -Fly safe, Noname115

Hi there, i did update my KSP 1.1.2 install with the patcher.exe in KSP's directory. The one which asks for email and password for kerbal store and then (is supposed to) update everything itself. It works - almost. I'm 90% sure the issues i have got, are due to the patcher not deleting old parts if squad changed folder structure. Somehow my small landing gear mysteriously keeps changing after Launch and revert Flight to medium. Then i discovered (have had this one before!) there are two small landing gears in my install. 1) GameData\Squad\Parts\Wheel\LandingGear\GearSmall.cfg 2) GameData\Squad\Parts\Wheel\SmallGearBay\smallGearBay.cfg please fix the patcher! thought it's an easy way to not update manually but nope (the launcher update did not find any 1.1.3 update too) Now i have to manually reinstall because there is no way to figure out whats new, whats old, and if there are more double parts

I'm not going to describe the entire Squadcast that aired on the 16th, just offer the link and a few comments: Squadcast here Roverdude joined NathanKell and Mu (KSP lead dev) for this squadcast, and much was said about the upcoming telemetry-antenna system in v1.2. In short, it looks to be a mix of parts of Antenna Range and parts of Remote Tech, slotting somewhere in between them. A few notes (there's much more than this): > The whole system will be "on" by default, but it will be able to be turned off > Kerbin will have a built-in Deep Space Network of ground stations, so you won't need to set it up yourself--unless you want to, as it can be set to "zero" so you can set up the antennas yourself. > Science will be able to be transmitted from surface rovers or landers to an orbiting craft. > There is going to be a Module GPS, intended mainly for satellites, providing a latitude and longitude readout, and perhaps biome as well. In 1.1.3 news, NathanKell was running the latest build of 1.1.3 (the version number on the main menu screen confirmed it). No crashes happened as he built a small rocket to head to Minmus. Orbits are indeed now rock-steady, no more decay of Ap and Pe. Ghost-staging in space has been fixed, i.e. no more double-tapping the space bar to stage (better watch out for that, it might come as a rude surprise ). The monolith easter-eggs have been fully restored, including the one on Minmus, and are taller than before. Check out the VOD for the full story

I'd like to start this thread to give the mods some props. As you may know, forum moderation is traditionally a thankless job. That... kinda sucks. But our moderators here on the KSP forums do a pretty good job. I've seen the cesspool that certain other places on the internet can be, and the fact that these forums are so very far from that is a testament to the moderators' skill and dedication. So, if anyone else has some nice things to say for a change, I'm sure that'd be massive.

Hello everyone, I'm Captain Nakou and I have a little Youtube channel. I'm not here to advertise my (very little) channel, but because I'm looking for some material : In my episodes, I introduce games, independent or not, and I like to introduce them in context. I talk about what the developers did before, why they've created the game, stuff like that. So that's what I am looking for here : Is there anywhere here, or in the blog, the stories of "How KSP was made?" "How Squad got the idea?" "What push them to make this awesome game?". I can't find those information so I came here in case someone have seen content I can be interested into. Nice Regards CaptainNakou
