  1. Imagine how i feel, i bought it on the 5th of MAY, 6 days! I can't say there's enough content in this for the $15 price tag, i can get historical parts from mods so the only real new thing is mission creating/sharing, which i don't care for. Kudos for first try though, lets hope Other planets, more moons etc. don't start getting made into expansion packs
  2. Having le trojan problem, upon extracting scansat from the Zip file, windows defender is detecting SCANsat.dll and SCANsat.Unity.dll as "trojan:Win32/azden.B!cl" I assume it's a false alarm, but knowing what windows thinks it is might help with the problem, i guess... I believe venusenvyXP's problem was related to this, because if you just let windows deal with the threat, it gets rid of the two files *Update* I updated the malware definitions, it seems to have fixed the problem for now. I guess these things just happen...
  3. I've noticed that Kerbin seems to wander from it's orbital path in the Tracking station, it doesn't seem to affect the map view in-flight though. Titanus /is/ supposed to be very high in oxygen... i'd assume it's meant to be like that!
  4. just tried the mod with the upper stage of the kerbal X reentering, appears stock atmosphere trajectory is working... EDIT: just had a look at the "one Mk1 pod" quicksave, that appears to still be wildly inaccurate
  5. i know, i was getting a bit carried away with watching landings, and i love scott's videos Edit: i'd make a mod myself if i was competent at all with coding, i'm surprised i got any replies. i might have a look at learning... meh
  6. i always loved the idea of having NPC space programs that made their own ships and tried to fly them it's my understanding that squad has ruled this out for the stock game, so i was wondering if it's even possible for a game like KSP? I imagine it would be difficult to make a program capable of building spaceships, so perhaps a procedural generation based on pre-designed chunks of a ship that get thrown together. I also realise that having other ships flying in the atmosphere while you're in interplanetary space at maximum time warp would not be possible, so maybe the end result of the craft could be calculated and put into the tracking station as an unknown object, which is discovered to be an NPC craft should you choose to track it. this would, however, rule out the possibility of NPCs making planetary landings, so maybe an in-game message asking if you'd like to watch (because kerbals like to boast about their achievements), if not then nothing happens, if so then you witness their landing and return as though you were the controller, but the craft flies itself and time-warps appropriately. i understanding that I'm basically asking if it's possible to make the computer into a player of kerbal space program, and it would be a colossal task for anyone to attempt, but the AI in some games baffles me, i still have trouble beating NPCs in Warcraft 3! don't hesitate to tell me how ridiculous I'm being, i guess my rocket designer skillz has bled into the rest of my brain
  7. I'd have expected that as with anything falling into a black hole, both black holes would speed up to the point where time slowed to practically 0 just before they hit each other?
  8. The title says it all: get out of your command pod and use your EVA jet-pack to "push" your stranded pod into an orbit that will land it on Kerbin in one piece. This is less of a skill based challenge and more a patience based one, as pushing a command pod takes time, and you could get from anywhere seeing as the pack doesn't actually drain your mono-propellant in your capsule as of 1.0, but I have saved many a Kerbal by pushing half the way home, and i find it relaxing if not fun to W̶a̶t̶c̶h̶ ̶K̶e̶r̶b̶a̶l̶s̶ ̶d̶o̶ ̶s̶e̶m̶i̶-̶m̶a̶n̶u̶a̶l̶ ̶l̶a̶b̶o̶u̶r̶ Save kerbals from the depths of space slowly but surely. Rules/notes: The pod to be used should be a Mk 1 command pod with a Mk 16 Parachute and a 1.25 metre heat-shield on it. it is recommended to use hyper-edit-like mods to get your pod into the right orbit, but obviously don't use it to edit your spacecraft back into the atmosphere Set heating effects to whatever you feel comfortable with, I use 100% to live on the edge Feel Free to quick-save/load if you run out of fuel and jeb floats off into space or you burn up in the atmosphere. To "participate" post on this thread with a screenshot of the pod starting in the designated Mode orbit from the orbital view, one of your ship in it's "pushed home" orbit with a recommended periapsis of about 25,000 metres, and one of it landed or about to land, this time in ship view. warning: Mode names partially reflect starting distance from Kerbin and may not accurately describe difficulty. hey, it's my first time doing this, don't look at me like that! "Modes": Simple Mode - 5,000,000 metre apoapsis, 400,000 metre periapsis around Kerbin Easy Mode - 4,000,000 metre apoapsis, 2,000,000 metre periapsis around Kerbin medium Mode - 4,000,000 metre circular orbit Difficult Mode -2,000,000 metre circular orbit around The Mun Hard Mode - 50,000,000 metre apoapsis, 10,000,000 metre periapsis around Kerbin Even Harder Mode - 14,000,000,000 metre circular orbit around The Sun/Kerbol Manley mode - 20,000,000 metre circular orbit around Duna! *gasp* Bonus points (there's not actually a point system) if you land on top of the VAB Thanks anyone who read this far, if you give it a try but give up, show us all how you did anyway!
