Flat radar arrays integrated into the skin are all the rage these days, plus tiny ports for ladar. Optics turrets as well as any SEXTANT X-ray pilsar positioning systems are probablybgoing to be retractable. -

China Railway Construction Corporation has bought into Moscow's subway bonanza a few years back. They started with the Michurinsky prospect station. It's a rather literal case of "he who pays the piper, calls the tune": https://yandex.ru/maps/geo/metro_michurinskiy_prospekt/4419559090/?l=stv%2Csta&ll=37.485961%2C55.687084&panorama[direction]=151.409567%2C19.423470&panorama[full]=true&panorama[point]=37.484467%2C55.688708&panorama[span]=55.200012%2C60.000000&z=14.64

Chinese Space Program (CNSA) & Ch. commercial launch and discussion
DDE replied to tater's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Standard terminology is "autonomous weapon systems", I believe. Makes a fair bit of sense. Besides mere contrarianism, there's a fair bit of interest in something that might offset Russia's numerical inferiority. -
It just doesn't look the same with such a high-mounted wing.

Since I don't see the word "experimental", this would normally imply the rad-hardening is just an extra feature, rather than the sat being a technology demonstrator. In other news, the sat probably has solar panels, and maybe even goes into space. (Sorry, was away playing Outside™ the whole day) ...so, having gotten off my bum and gotten to NASASpaceflight, I'm no longer as dismissive of that description. There was ambiguity as to whether this is Neutron, a long-delayed Kondor derivative that, indeed, appears to have the sole purpose of testing rad-hardening systems, or a Lotos signals snooper. https://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=45081.0

Any word on what just launched out of Plesetsk? The usual sources are awfully quiet.

This question reminds me of the All-Terrain, Hex-Limbed, Extra-Terrestrial Explorer (ATHLETE). Thing is, I recall it being co-developed alongside a more conventional rover with significantly greater speed... -
The Kessel Run existed for decades before that.

Oh, before the Disney Reset, people actually tried to inject maths into SW. It ended up really bad. So, almost all engines you see on the screen are fission/fusion fragment rockets. Here's the fluff for the Millennium Falcon: Now, here's the problem: in order to achieve the kind of transit seen on-screen during the attack on the first Death Star, which is helpfully timed, X-Wings needed to achieve constant acceleration of 1700 g. Similarly, by taking Han's quote about a thousand Star Destroyers being able to chew up a planet, plus the way asteroids got completely vaporised in Episode V, translated into gigaton-class yields for turbolasers, and small cannon-like blasts for small arms. @Nazalassa, I look at it this way: realistic warfare - realistic anything, perhaps - is not what the absolute majority of people are looking for on the silver screen. If it extends to the modern day, why set a higher bar for the speculative future?

It wouldn't result in decent mixing, and would invite flame up into your injector. Some of the injector designs do feature something remotely what you're suggesting, but you're still looking at dozens of separate mixers. -

Soyuz-T-13, Dzhanibekov, Savinykh. It's one thing to avert a disaster, to survive a disaster... but to march straight into one, when the station in question is already dead?

One survey has counted 54 various monuments marking the boundary of Europe and Asia in Russia. Almost all of them are in the wrong place, some of them are 'duplicates' located on the same road, and almost all of them have their own supporters. https://www.kommersant.ru/doc/2588910?utm_referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fzen.yandex.com
