The mod looks really nice and from my first playing around with it Mercury-Atlas and Gemini-Titan are pretty nice. While playing around with them I encountered some errors/bugs: None of the main Engines have animations and sounds. I currently run KSP 1.4.5.2243 and tried the mod version 1.4.2 via CKAN as well as the 1.4.4 Version from git. Has anyone experienced something similar?

[1.12.x] State Funding Continued - MM added as dependency
Schetefan replied to linuxgurugamer's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Thanks for continuing this nice mod. What exactly are the requirements for a satellite to be logged in Coverage? I'm using RSS and have several satellites in Earth orbit to setup a ComRelay, but none of them are counted as a satellite in Coverage. They all have stock solar panels and stock antennae, but use a non stock probe core. The part config of the used probe core to help determine if the problem is related to it: -
Thanks for the great mod. I just have a small problem with solar panels, and I think it is related to your mod: Once I deploy solar arrays in Kerbin orbit some of them try to face Kerbol and once they face it they generate energy, while others try to face one of the stars you added and obvisiouly can't generate energy, as they are to far away. Do you know a way how this could be fixed.

Help setting up a Satellite ComNetwork
Schetefan replied to Schetefan's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
@Snark I already have your mod installed. And it seems like the idea with the continous chain of satellites seems like the best Idea. I'm still interested in the correct solution for my problem. -
Hello, I have a question regarding the setup of a Satellite ComNetwork with the Interstellar Adventure Revived mod, which adds additional stars to the game. The nearest is around 20Tm from Kerbol away. As I have antennas with ranges to short to comunicate the distance I need to setup a com network with multiple layers of satellites. How do I calculate the maximum distance between two nearest sattelites of the different orbits (a red and a orange point in the sketch). I already now how you would calculate the shortest distance between two satellites on the same orbit: The distance would be d = 2*sin(pi/n)*r with n being the number of satellites on each orbit and r being the radius of the orbit to the center of gravity of the orbit. Could anyone help me? Sidenote: How can I create nice looking formulas in a post?

The 4 GB ram limit shouldn't be the problem, as my game was running close to 3GB and without procedural fairings it only crashes if it runs close to the stated 4GB. @curtquarquesso I tried procedural fairings with a cleared GameData directory and it didn't crash, so it has to be a mod incompatibility. As I don't really have problems with the game without procedural fairings i thought it could be caused by procedural fairings.

Grace Mk1b - a sleek, light utility SSTO
Schetefan replied to drewscriver's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Thanks, got the grace flying, its a really nice ssto -
The next part of the story: Over the last half year the probes and satellites there on their way to Duna and now they finally arrived. After the burns of the transfer vehicles to achieve an orbit, the transfer vehicle for the Dunian ScanSat satellites made the burns to achieve an polar orbit and changed the circular orbit to a height around 775km before releasing its payload. After the payload was released, the transfer vehicle was deorbited and crashed into Duna, while the satellites of the payload separated and the satellites which required a lower orbit changed their orbit accordingly. After that the ScanSat satellites for Ike were transferred to Ike and placed in their required orbits. The transfer vehicle was also deorbited. These satellites are very important for the Hermes Program because they carry optical and radar instruments to draw maps of Duna and Ike, which are required to find interesting and safe landing spots for the probes and the manned missions. As the satellites need time to collect enough data for a map that is accurate enough to enable unmanned landings the probes are left in orbit and will be landed when the maps are accurate enough. Thanks to Walt Kerman we got our hands on an overview of our satellites in the Duna system and we also got exclusive footage of the orbital maneuvers.

I tried procedural fairings again, with a manual install, it crashed again. Here are both error log folders: Link. The first is while forcing opengl, the second is without forced opengl and in admin mode.
-
I'm also having the problem that my game crashes if I wanna use procedural fairings. It is heavily modded, but it shouldn't be a ram problem as I even got the crashes at around 2750mb of ram used. When I looked into the crash report it stated a null pointer to some dll. As I used CKAN to install procedural fairings it don't think I messed up the installation. Without procedural fairings my game runs relativly stable

This is an interesting story idea, i will follow it. Would be really great if you would make an imgur account to upload pics. Can you make me an male engineer in the story?

Today I designed most of the stations and vehicles for my mission to Duna: The Pegasus station, it will be set in orbit around Duna to research every returned data A planetary base I wanna set on Ike and Duna A Rover I wanna use on Duna and maybe on Ike My Duna Launch Vehicle, which will be landed on Duna with all tanks empty, except the the tanks of the landing stage. Once landed on Duna it will mine ore and produce fuel out of it. The last thing I designed is the Hermes, which will be used to transfer the crew to Duna and bring it back to Kerbin

Thanks loch.ness. I got my mission patch Templates here.

I wanted to share my latest, still ongoing mission with you: The Hermes Program. The reports about this mission I will write as news by one of Kerbins news agencies. After the recent successes of our space program with landing on the Mun in the Apollo Program, landing on Minmus in the Athena Program and the setup of our first space station in Kerbins orbit with the Spacelab I a new project was started: the Hermes Program, a set of missions to take on Duna. This project will be executed in three stages, all in different transfer windows, so the execution of this will take several years. Thanks to Walt Kerman we can now present you the plans on the different stages: Stage 1: In this first stage, the exploration stage, ScanSat satellites and probes for Duna and Ike together with a rover for Duna will be launched and sent to the Duna system. Depending on the transmitted scientific data the program will be abandoned or if the data is promising the project will be moved to the next stage. Stage 2: In this second stage, the preparation stage, everything needed for a manned mission to Duna will be transferred to Duna. The requirements for a manned Duna mission are: a space station –called Pegasus Station-, bases on Ike and Duna –Jump Zero and the Echo Base-, an orbital taxi –Mule-, the Duna Launch Vehicle and the Duna Landing Vehicle. If every system reports that it is working correctly at the end of this stage the project will be moved in the final project stage. Stage 3: The third and final stage is the manned stage and after the assembly of the Hermes in orbit of Kerbin, it will be used to transfer 30 kerbonauts to Duna. During this stage the station and bases in the Duna system will be manned and the first manned landing on Duna will happen. At the moment the Hermes Program is in the exploration stage and over the last months everything was prepared to make the launches last week possible. Now the probes are on an escape trajectory out of Kerbins sphere of influence and on their way to Duna. Only because of Walt Kermans great work we can now proudly present you exclusive footage of the launches and the transfer burns: As soon as we get our hands on new information on the program we will inform you.

Grace Mk1b - a sleek, light utility SSTO
Schetefan replied to drewscriver's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Hey drewscriver this is a really nice looking spaceplane and I just tried to get it into Orbit, but I was to stupid to do it, as I don't have experience with SSTOs. Could you give me some tipps on how I can get it to Space? -
[1.0.5]AutoRove - autonomous rovermovement in the background
Schetefan replied to Wotano's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I have a problem with the mod: I'm playing RSS and just landed my first Rover on the Moon, after I took the first scientific data I wanted to go to the next biome using AutoRove, so I put in the coordinates AutoRove should move to, started AutoRove and switched to the spacecenter, there I opened the AutoRove window. The Rover was in the list and still had around 400km to go, but after a second or so it just dissapeared out of the list and I wasn't using timewarp. Edit: On stock KSP planets and moons the mod seems to work as intended. It's really helpful for planet exploration.- 139 replies
