  1. Didn't know how Gir was spelled...thanks! Probably because I removed that memory to make room for the cupcake....
  2. An honourable pirate...moving his crew and his hunting ground into space...will he be changing his Nom du Guerre to Captain Karlock, and the Kautilus be refitted as the Karcadia...? (I loved that classic Anime series....:! (P{ ! [My Personal Pirate Emoticon, with headscarf, eyepatch, moustache, and dagger in his teeth....arrrrr....] But no need to rename or re-plot on MY account.....! You're doing just fine! This just goes to show what happens when you neglect to keep women stationed in remote areas adequately supplied with CHOCOLATE! It's not our fault...really! Now just hand over the Brach's and nobody has to get hurt....slowly....NO TRICKS now....and there'd better not be any pink coconut ones in there.... There, that's better....now I love everybody! Now if they'd just restock the C batteries...... Where was I...? Oh, yes... I loved the Kautilus! I want one.... and places to go in it... yes, I KNOW this is Kerbal SPACE Program, but building bases on the ocean floor is all about survival in hostile environments.....and astronauts TRAIN underwater as well as in high altitude low pressure mountainous areas,...simulated zero-gee and high gee acceleration...COLD climates like Carlenna's Polar Station...HOT places like Kerbin's deserts....and now I'm having new ideas that have nothing to do with your story....:D Voice signals from Jool....from whom....and TO whom...? and what about the saucer nobody can scan or get into? This is really opening up in major ways. I can't wait for all to be revealed.....which of course will open entirely NEW areas of mystery and intrigue.....because we the readers all know...(because you keep telling us)... "The Saga of Emiko Station is far, far from over."
  3. That's my favorite Shakespeare quote... and fits quite nicely into chapter 30. I was always partial to "The game's afoot! Follow your spirit, and upon this charge cry, "God for Harry, England, and Saint George!" But that's just me......:) Okay, okay, getting me to a Nunnery......
  4. I only just now read your latest entry, speaking of not getting much done.......:sheepish: This is really getting seriously awesome! I haven't read past Children of Dune.....Yet.... I saw the Omeha-77 with Thompberry's new body/residence and thought "I am Nomad....must sterilize..." That was way creepier to me when I saw it than it sounds now... Delicious shivers over the Lovecraftian atmosphere......
  5. Piper rocks! (Somebody had to say it...) That woman is a real party mineral......
  6. "Three for the elf-kings with auras that glow white. "Seven for dwarves, like the ones who knew Snow White, "Nine for the Nazgul, the ghosts of dead kings.
  7. Actually it was a more complex problem....His insecurity is indicative of an inferiority complex. One that he thought was bigger and better than anybody else's in the whole world.
  8. Quoting a campy parody of "Star Wars" a college friend of mine and I once wrote: [Gov. Tarkin: That's right Princess, we're going to blow up your home planet! Mwahahahahahahah! Sometimes I'm so evil I can't STAND myself! Lord Vader: (Contemptuously) YOU can't stand yourself...?] lol! "The Saga of Emiko Station is FAR From Over..."....and with each passing day it gets FARTHER from over! (....YaaY!....)
  9. On PC, Portals 1 an 2, Universe Sandbox, No One Lives Forever 1 and 2, Freedom Force, Am McG's Alice, Star Wars:the Old Republic. On Consoles: Dragon age 1,2,&3, Lego (all of them), Batman Arkham Series, Rock Band 2 & 3, Nights:(both), Assassins Creed 2 & 3, Walking Dead and Game of Thrones Storyteller games, Tomb Raider series.
  10. I'm not sure this constitutes anything resembling proof, and my reasoning may in fact not be more valid than the "It was faked!" crowd's lack of same...but this is why I've always believed we did in fact go to the Moon: We spent a good deal on getting as far as Earth orbit on the Mercury, Gemini, and earlier Apollo flights, not to mention everything else we put up along the way. Having spent that much to begin with, would faking the actual landing have cost enough less to justify it? Making movies with convincing special effects (without the benefit of CGI back then) while not as expensive presumably as a Moon landing, was still not cheap on top of everything else. I once heard the counter argument that including putting up all the Saturn V launches, the cost of the cover up with so many people having to be involved, the fact that we'd have to fool the Soviets (and their spy network) with it as well, might as well ACTUALLY go to the Moon. I mean, why not? Just to be able to get away with lying to us? This is roughly akin to the old joke about knowing politicians are lying "because their lips are moving." No politician EVER tells the truth. Politicians say we went to the Moon. Therefore, we didn't. The hard part accomplished in their minds, the fakery believers now feel they only need suspicious (to them) looking proof that we went to 'prove' we DIDN'T go. "The CIA denies it, so of course it must be true." "A liberal/conservative thinks this is a good thing...it must be EVIL." "Scripture is undeniably true because God says so. We know this because scripture tells us this." Unassailable 'logic'.
  11. Me too.....:sniffle: an adorable pair of Velcro-rug Rats.....:) Gee, that's actually an inspired concept for space-babies...Velcro onesies! So much more reliable than rubbing them on top of your head and static-sticking them to the wall... Gene, you besotted drunken fool......but an Ultimate Grand Tour.....how soon do the bodies line up right....Dr. VK...?
  12. Yes, I have to admit the presence of two genders is just too inconvenient for words......if only we could somehow eliminate one of them.....must go to my lab and ponder this at length..... (Eerie sounds...disturbing lights....occasional bursts of maniacal giggling....) Oh.......all right......(muttering darkly about how they all laughed....LAUGHED!....at my hypotheses in the University....)
  13. LOL! I read this and had an "Airplane" flashback....":Gee....Jim never barfs at home....:" Not the same at all, I know....but I've never been through what Jandolin's going through. ACK! Suddenly I want to.....biology is so weird......not nice and clean and sensible like rocket science...
  14. WAY too long since the last time I binge-watched Babylon 5...just need to finish binge watching The Tick so I can go back to binge watching Doctor Who/Torchwood/Sarah Jane Adventures, and then go back to binge watching Battlestar Galactica. You say get a life....? Don't talk to me about life.... Oh God, now I have to binge-watch/listen/read The Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy..... __________________________________________________ It's NOT Zaltronic....? It's ALL Thompberry ...? Yikes..! Is he actually mad....? Or just a bit annoyed.? Does just go to show though....do NOT liquid off Kerbal women packing asteroids. Piper is obviously highly trained plotting trajectories....or at least spent a lot of tokens in the arcade playing....well, you know..... She does have rescue standing by, right...?
  15. OMG! The third shout out you said nobody ever got.....the Chariot....crossing the inland sea.....Lost in Space?? lol! I think I was 8 years old when that first aired! Reading about the filming of that series decades later and that episode in particular....the Chariot in the middle of a "storm at sea" with blinding rain, pounding waves, (special effects but still plenty miserable on the soundstage), June Lockhart, despite her wholesome star from 'Lassie' persona is reputed to have yelled out in the midst of the shooting "All right, who do I have to sleep with to get OUT of this show??" I had to see the rover crossing by water to make the connection! So Thompberry is quite probably in league with or even the driving force behind the attack on KASA, on Karenna, on the crew of the Chariot and the abduction of Harfield and Jandolin? Wow. I was liking him....and he's used the comm rig to somehow sieze control of KASA....but is Alpha-77 part of the plot or a wild card coming into play....?
  16. Speaking of Pythonesque....please don't suffer a fatal heart attack while our heroes are running away, okay? Even if you could be spared (you can't!), how would we ever find out what happens next? So if a rival program built the probes....do they know what they've created? Do they know that one of their people has an agenda of their own, assuming making Jandolin their queen isn't their WHOLE purpose? Picturing what will happen when Alpha 77 arrives at KASA unannounced......this does not bode well....
  17. So the saucers, and their rovers are a dawning machine intelligence......MechJeb has someone to talk to now.... But is this a good thing or a bad thing....? Time may tell..... But who is behind the abdoction/ecjecduction oh
  18. I don't mind the story taking a dark turn...it's all been good so far! That was mostly meant for my fellow Disqus commentators, many of whom will rant for days, weeks, even MONTHS about how certain characters on TV annoy them SO MUCH that the writers just HAVE to kill them off. I expect they don't get invited to parties much. (None I would go to anyway.... Is anybody but me worried that wishing people dead for being annoying is now the way to be totally cool on the internet..?) I am Eagerly awaiting further development!
  19. I understand that it's sometime good for a writer to sacrifice a character for proper dramatic impact. I understand that many readers speak contemptuously about emotional manipulation when characters turn out to have survived, and the Deus ex Machina is one of the most thoroughly reviled of all story-telling devices. But I say "In your face, wannabe critics! Karenna's alive and I'm glad about it and YOUR sour lot can all go fly a kite!"
