BD Armory parts wont appear
DoctorDavinci replied to Invictic's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
https://github.com/PapaJoesSoup/BDArmory/releases Download from the above link for BDArmory Continued, then put the BDArmory folder found in the gamedata folder of the zip into your KSP's gamedata folder Please note that only the latest version of BDAc is supported (v0.11.1.6) and you will require KSP v1.2.2 -
BD Armory parts wont appear
DoctorDavinci replied to Invictic's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Hi @Invictic, welcome to the forums In order for anyone to diagnose your issue we will require logs, KSP.log is always a good place to start ... upload it to a file sharing site like dropbox so that those in the know around here can take a look @BahamutoD has moved on to other things and we on the BDA Continued team have decided to do what we can to keep his mods alive in his absence I wonder if you are using the latest version of BDA Continued ... I refer you to the following thread where you will find download links for BDA Continued and other BDAc family mods as well as other pertinent information ... let us know if you are still having dificulty after downloading the latest version of BDAc as what you describe sounds like a wrong version for your KSP install -
So we're playing Wheel of Fortune? Where's the wheel?
-
@DuoDex - I dug through your logs and they are incomplete, however from what I can see BDAc itself isn't throwing any exceptions Could you take one of the craft that is displaying the problem and remove all BDAc parts then fly it and look if the log spam is still there ... I'm wondering if it is either a mod interaction or if one of the mods you have that are throwing spam could be the culprit
-
The usefulness has always been there, even before 1.2 dropped ... it provides only a quick overview of what is going on and in no way will solve any major issues by itself What it does do is indicate with a quick glance if the mod was installed incorrectly and what warnings are being thrown which can indicate where a person should look to find out where a problem lies
-
There is a reason the KSP.log was asked for ..... Although the output.log has more info, it is usually a good starting point to look at the KSP.log as it can provide a good overview of what is happening in your game and it will give an indication of where to look if there is a bigger problem with your KSP install I have solved a number of issues people have had just by looking into the KSP.log
-
Couple questions ..... Did you add a Weapon Manager to your craft? Did you put the gamedata folder contained in the BDArmory zip into your KSP's gamedata folder? Can you provide your KSP.log?

It has been clearly stated in the OP to consult the in game KSPedia for detailed information on the operation of BDAc Most of what is in the wiki I put into the BDPedia, however I added a link to the wiki in the OP for those who wish to use the web instead of using the built in instruction manual included with BDAc

A video on setting up the AI would be fairly convoluted as different craft will use different settings for best performance ... at times it can take days, even weeks to set up a specific design to fly at its finest by adjusting the AI Pilot settings Every plane handles differently, so the control system of the AI Pilot must be tuned to handle the plane properly. There are entries in the in game BDPedia (KSPedia) that cover what the settings do and you can find additional info at the following link: http://bdarmory.wikia.com/wiki/BDArmory_Wikia

Hi all Just wanted to give you a heads up that I have added a video section to the OP where I will post videos demonstrating how to use BDAc I have put one up already that demonstrates guard mode and the wing commander module fairly well, more to come .... Please note that requests are not only accepted but encouraged
-
I find this odd ... Could you please open an issue on our issues tracker at the following link: https://github.com/PapaJoesSoup/BDArmory/issues This way the issue can be tracked as we strive to find a solution
-
This is a known issue with missiles that have a boost phase: https://github.com/PapaJoesSoup/BDArmory/issues/21 @Supergamervictor - Please use the test craft found in: [your ksp folder]/gamedata/BDArmory/crafts

Search for life
DoctorDavinci replied to Duinhir's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
So gravity isn't fact? If there is proof on paper it shows that whatever is on said paper is a possibility ... what my response to you was trying to get across was that your assertion the only life that can be found in the universe is carbon based due to us not having discovered any other forms yet Not accepting that there is a possibility of something being true because there hasn't been incontrovertible proof found is not how the scientific method works -
Search for life
DoctorDavinci replied to Duinhir's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Theory of evolution, theory of gravity, chaos theory (and the list goes on) ... Are any of these not considered fact? Let alone it has been proven on paper that you could potentially replace the carbon in organic chemistry with silicon and have the created molecules work in essentially the same fashion ... silicon based life forms? With this sort of reasoning I would expect that the human race would still be walking around with clubs whilst dragging their knuckles on the ground and living in caves ... might I suggest the following for you to read as I am sure it will clarify for you what the scientific method is https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_method Also the videos in the spoiler make for an interesting watch if you can get past Issac talking like elmer fudd (he has a speech impediment which makes him unable to pronounce the letter R) -

Getting More KSP Stock parts
DoctorDavinci replied to Sgt Doomball's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Actually the OP edited his original post to remove any mention of weapons as it was originally half of the proposition behind this thread It is quite true that many people who play KSP do not want weapons in stock, myself being one of them ... However. the assertion that most don't want it even if they use BDAc is unfounded and, I can say as one of the members of the BDAc team, that space warfare weapons are a highly requested feature -
No, it does not occur with only BDAc installed The issue is that if there is an AI Pilot/Weapon Manager used on a craft that does not have the Wing Commander module listed in said parts config then the Competition Mode issue you are having will occur There are two solutions to this issue (which is not an issue with BDAc itself): 1- as my friend and colleague above mentioned, you can create module manager configs to include the Wing Commander module in the parts config or; 2- edit the part configs manually to include Wing Commander as a module that the part uses See the following post which gives an example of the part config edit needed to get Competition Mode to work with craft that do not utilize the BDAc AI Pilot or Weapon Manager
-
@Supergamervictor - from your modlist I will assume that you are using the integrated AI Pilot/Weapon Manager from Aviator Arsenal as it is a known issue that competition mode will not engage after take off when using this part due to the lack of the wing commander module in its part config Try rerunning competition mode after changing the AI Pilot/Weapon Manager combo antenna to the individual AI Pilot and Weapon Manager parts from BDAc
