FAR Fighter Challenge BD Armoury AI: 2!!
DoctorDavinci replied to SpaceplaneAddict's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
If you wouldn't mind could you increase the fuel in the tank to 240 before you run the fight? ... Seems I forgot to increase the fuel load before I uploaded my craft It wont affect balance as the Midge is totally balanced regardless of fuel or ammunition EDIT--------- Fueled Midge can be downloaded HERE -

So I have determined that my DF-101 Crysis is completely unsuitable for this challenge. I thought that I could adapt her to this challenge ... Oh how I was wrong in this assumption However I have decided to design an off-center cockpit fighter to replace her ... B-wing Anybody? -

DoctorDavinci replied to Wanderfound's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
My CANUKWorks DF-101 Crysis came before you and actually I know there was at least one other forward swept wing design before mine And on that note, my overhaul of the DF-101 is pretty much complete and the updated craft file will be uploaded tomorrow for a rematch -

Science The Kedgehog - Kerbin
DoctorDavinci replied to DoctorDavinci's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas

Science The Kedgehog - Kerbin
DoctorDavinci replied to DoctorDavinci's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
If you read the rules as I posted them you will notice the following: - The SOI of Minimus as well as the Mun must be visited although you are encouraged to land on them to get more science -This is a Kerbal'd mission, so at least one Kerbal MUST make it to space (70Km up) ... you MUST also return your Kerbal(s) back to the surface of Kerbin Safely Plus even if you did what you described and it was allowed in the rules you would have a Science score of 0R250 since 250 divided by zero is 0R250 ..... Flag Science plus Collected Science DIVIDED BY time in hours rounded down to the nearest hour Methinks you didn't read the rules -
One day, Jebediah and Valentina were playing a game on an old kega console that has a Kedgehog breaking every speed limit in the known universe while collecting these things that would ring and give points when the Kedgehog ran into them. Then Bill walked in with Neil and Bob who were both mesmerized by the speed in which that little Kedgehog could run. Now Bob, being one of Kerbal Kinds most prestigious scientists (the other one being Neil), was thinking about the next mission and wanted to gather as much science he could from only one launch. He told Neil about what he was thinking and Neil replied something to the effect that he could gather more science than Bob could from around Kerbin AND her Mun's as well as doing it faster than Bob could ... This turned into a heated argument which was quickly quashed when Jebediah said to Neil "Then prove it!" So it was written, and so it shall be done ... Just Kerbin for now! OBJECTIVE: - Gather as much science as you can from on/around Kerbin and her Moons (Minimus and the Mun) as quickly as possible using a single launch vehicle RULES: - No Mods Whatsoever ... nothing, nada, do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars - No F12 or other cheats - One Launch from Kerbin Only ... If you can get it into orbit using one launch vehicle then it's all gravy - The SOI of Minimus as well as the Mun must be visited although you are encouraged to land on them to get more science - This is a Kerbal'd mission, so at least one Kerbal MUST make it to space (70Km up) ... you MUST also return your Kerbal(s) back to the surface of Kerbin Safely - Littering is allowed ... Leave as big a pile of junk as you want anywhere in the solar system - Pictures or it didn't happen SCORING: TIER 1 - Most Science gathered TIER 2 - Calculated as Average Science per Hour NOTE: - Planting a flag is worth 250 Science points for the purposes of this challenge, however only one flag on each of the 3 giant space rocks will count (Kerbin, Minimus and the Mun) for a Maximum total of 750 additional science points (Planting more than one flag on any of the three will not gain you any extra science points above the initial 250 per flag per space rock) - Flag Science will be added BEFORE your score is calculated for both tiers - Remember, 1 day is equal to 6 hours - Your time will be rounded down to the nearest hour DIRECTIONS FOR SETTING UP A GAME FOR THIS CHALLENGE: - Start a NEW normal game in Science Mode and name it 'Science the Kedgehog - Kerbin' or something to that effect, then after it has loaded and you see your space center return to the main menu - Open the 'persistence.sfs' for this challenge in a text editor (Google this if you don't know what I am talking about) - Use the text search function in your text editor (Ctrl+F using Windows Notepad) and search for 'sci =' (minus the quotes) - Replace the 0 after the '=' symbol with 16918 (the amount of science required to open the complete tech tree) and save the file ... It should read 'sci = 16918' (minus the quotes) - Resume the game, enter the research facility and research your tech tree completely, you will be left with 0 science after the whole tree has been opened - exit your R&D facility and save the game then take a screenshot of your space center so that you show you have 0 science at the start - Start Building your ship Remember, it is the amount of science gathered from on/around Kerbin and her moons, the safe return of your Kerbal(s) to Kerbin and the time in which you do it that matters for this challenge ... Don't forget that a scientist can be very influential on the amount of science points collected As for what information is required to enter, use my entry below as an example. And remember, lots of photo's as both proof and a record of your epic journey -------- SCOREBOARD -------- TIER 1 - Total Science (Including Flag Science) 1- DoctorDavinci 6260.1 Science 2- 3- 4- TIER 2 - Science Points per hour 1- DoctorDavinci 57.96 2- 3- 4- - - - Updated - - - DoctorDavinci's Entry I plan on repeating this again after I make a few modifications to the Canuk 787, I think I can bring back even more science SHIP STATS Name : CANUK 787 Parts : 787 Mass : 2513.2 tons Height : 74.2m Width : 28.2m Length : 28.2m Payload : 4 Low Grav Automated Rover Lander/Return Modules each with a Scientist onboard SCORING Time (1 day = 6 hours) : 18d, 02:03:39 : 18 days x 6 hours = 106 hours : 106 + 2:03:39 = 108:03:38 Total Hours : 108 (rounded down to nearest hour) TIER 1 Science Collected : 5510.1 Flag Science : 750 TOTAL SCIENCE : 6260.1 TIER 2 Total Science : 6260.1 Total Hours : 108 SCIENCE PER HOUR : 57.96 Photo Album of my journey: http://imgur.com/a/XZPmz

This statement is so true .. and to add a little clarification on how the gaming industry works today, many games don't even start development until after the hype has been started in the media which forces the developer to rush and meet a deadline because they have to have at least something to give to all the gamers who placed pre orders for the game they haven't even started to build yet ... how many broken, incomplete, reskinned games get released from mainstream developers each year? The gaming industry as a whole is no longer what it was in the past. Companies hype games to push pre orders because if they can get $40 from someone without having to physically give them anything for 4 months it means that essentially they can count the interest on that $40 as a non expenditure income until they physically have to provide a product to the consumer 4 months down the line ... welcome to the world of high finance and investors where the objective is to take your money and not to develp the best game ever created KSP is a labour of love and isn't even close to being broken which is pretty good in my books .. a bit buggy yes, but not broken and not a cash grab like so many of the mainstream reskinned games that are thrown at us these days Finished you ask ... KSP is still in her infancy methinks. With all the love that people have for her I think she will continue to be developed for many years to come and who knows what KSP will evolve into Dr. D EDIT: I'd like to also point out that if said company gets 200 000 pre orders they have already recouped the cost and turned a profit from developing the game before they have developed the game ... seems to me that there would be no incentive to create an amazing gaming experience given these conditions as the aforementioned company would be more interested in coming up with a new game idea to push their pre order business model -
So to draw a parallel ... when a person has a near death experience it's just their reality glitching out? 'The matrix has you, Mr. Anderson'

Sorry but when I offer a suggestion that may help then I at least expect not to be given a sermon on how what my system has is different than what other people have let alone regardless if the term TSR isn't used anymore that is what they are, 'Terminal Stay Resident Programs'. The manner in which my post was replied to is the issue I'm having and yes I may be being a bit sensitive, however if someone were to do the same thing in person whether it be about the same subject or not it would result in an argument given the approach of the replier in question
