Perhaps you could build a drone that is compliant to the rules that uses clipped wings as you describe ... If what you say is true then it would be a formidable drone and I for one would love to see a working example that is within the scope of this challenge On another note ... If SasquatchM requires a rig to use for running fights, I can supply such a rig

Advanced Air Superiority Fighter Competition
DoctorDavinci replied to Kagame's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I think your F-12 Aggressor needs a bit of work, I consistently eat her for breakfast even when I let her get airborne first. I would suggest changing the mode of her engine to wet, however I tried that and she ends up out of control and either breaks apart in a turn or slams into the ground. So yeah, I uploaded this video about a 10 minutes ago with no changes to the Aggressor 2 other than taking her off standby mode ... F-12 Aggressor 2 vs CANUKWorks DF-47 Happy Tail -
So testing is complete ... Here is the craft file: CANUKWorks DD-39 Scrappy Doo FINAL STATS Cost: $19 861 Weight: 5.0 tons Length: 8.8m Width: 8.4m Height: 3.6m Armament: 20mm Vulcan x1, AMRAAM x2 NOTE: 3 sepratrons, AI Pilot toggle, Guard Mode toggle and Activate Engine are all linked to Hotkey 1 as well as the drone having been saved as Team B ... All you have to do is set it up in its launch position, point it in the right direction and press 1 (the sepratrons are staged last so they do not go off when you start the main engine, however as soon as you press 1 they will go off)
-
So I am just in final testing of my entry but would like to suggest something for the OP ... This being that you should also add 'activate engine' for all your engines as well as 'toggle guard mode' for your weapon manager to hotkey 1 The reason I suggest this is suppose someone puts an ECM pod on their drone or uses boosters for a quicker takeoff ... It allows you to add any other part/weapon that you want to activate at the point of launch Anyways, here's some pics of my DD-39 Scrappy Doo ... Craft file to follow shortly

Honestly I would much prefer screenshots, it's not that hard to press F1 every so often and pretty simple to upload the pics ... A mission to Tylo to plot craters in a video would be insanely long and the idea is to provide as detailed of a mission report as possible ... Let alone it is the maneuvers and how you're doing them that is also of interest along with the actual charting of the craters. Take a look at my Dres Love Missions HERE and you will see what I am am hoping to get from entrants into this challenge (as you would have if NASA or some other space agency were to go plot the craters in our solar system, highly detailed) Also the wiki could be wrong and should be used only for reference. A better way would be to start a sandbox game, go to your tracking center, take a look at Tylo in the tracking center and start counting what looks like craters ... The biome maps can be a bit misleading with the colour tones they use to differentiate between zones I'm looking at Tylo now in the tracking center and I can count over 20 locations that look like craters on just 1/4 of the surface area ... south pole looks to have a few as well
-
So we have all seen them, those entries for a challenge that don't meet the requirements or the entrant is being deceitful in their entry I say every challenge poster should have a Kiddies Table division in their challenge just for this ... perhaps if people see this in challenges it will make them read things more closly and also keep the cheats on their toes since its intention is to shame cheaters and those who don't care to read the rules
-
So I just took a closer look at your pics and first off no info windows are visible and also all of the pics are of a different size so it is obvious that you have cropped your screenshots Not impressed at all ... Kiddies Table it is In addition to this I personally took a look at the Mun biome map on the Kerbal wiki and can count well over 60 craters marked on the map

Ascent profile challenge

Wheatons Law is applicable, no? -
So I'm kinda liking this challenge ... After I'm done with Dres I may have to show the Mun who's boss and show all of Kerbal kind how much animosity I have towards her
-
If it looks like a crater then count it ... as for number of craters, as I stated above, the wiki will be used as default on crater info however the object of the challenge is to confirm what is in the wiki in regards to craters. Common sense dictates that if there are only 18 craters on Dres instead of 42 then only 18 craters can be marked in which case we know the wiki is wrong concerning craters on Dres. We can also use Foxster's mission to the Mun, he dropped 9 probes because that is what is listed in the wiki but we all know there is more so someone else can try to beat his 9 score or he can keep launching more probes to increase the number of craters he has marked. EDIT: Foxster did not do his research on the Mun very well as there are 9 craters listed in the biome list but when you look at the biome map you will be able to count well over 60 ... Do your research my fellow Kerbo-not's Refer to the following: Is the info about craters in the wiki correct, that is the question
-
Well concerning Minmus, we know there aren't any craters on it but seeing as it isn't a captured asteroid (see above ... Gilly for example) then I think it is acceptable to send a mission there to confirm that the depressions on the surface are in fact not craters. As for Dres, I gotta find 'em all as they all aren't marked but it specifically says in the wiki that there are 42 craters so I have to find 42 in order to complete my own challenge A crater in regards to this challenge is what is known as an impact crater to NASA scientist although we shall find out if we need to refine this interpretation to account for mistakes in the wiki. This challenge is about confirming what is in the wiki in regards to craters on planets or moons

So Mima Kerman abandoned her rover and made it to Party Bus 1. She had next to no RCS left when she got there so there was a transfer of crew done and Jebediah took her place on the ladder (I did this because I can't have a Kerbal on a ladder during time warp and have to have enough RCS to get back to PB1 after drifting off during said warp ... Also Mima didn't look like she was enjoying the EVA) I managed to just barely make it down safely although it was a hard landing and some of the wheels on the bus are now broken ... 19 Kerbals onboard + Jebediah holding onto the ladder ... 42 Kerbals landed on Dres so far Going to see if the bus is serviceable but if not then it looks like the crater I landed beside is gonna be the first party spot

Mechjeb adds parts to the game I specifically put this into the rules because autopilot mods add parts to the game AFAIK ... I'm going to ad an amendment to the rules reflect this as using Mechjeb or another auto-piloting mod really is not by the seat of your pants considering it does all the work for you, n'est pas
-
So I have Derdin Kerman holding onto the outside of PB3 and have just discovered that you cannot warp with a Kerbal on a ladder ... a little over 2 hours until I hit my next maneuver node to bring the PB3 into a 28K orbit in preparation for landing on Dres what to do, what to do

EOSP: Efficient Orbital Strike Package
DoctorDavinci replied to SheVa Nine's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
When you click on the imgur icon a window appears with a text input area ... paste the imgur link in the box and delete all but the letters after the last forwards slash 'http://imgur.com/a/' Although this only works if it is your album in imgur and not just a general upload ... General uploads don't have the '/a/' so you have to be signed in to imgur for the upload to embed properly -
It's true ... I tried to copy Manley by colliding 2 ships together in orbit and in the 2 tries that actually hit (probably tried a good 15 times) ended up with the ships just flying through each other
