Pretty incredible stuff, keep at it!

Very nice, happy to see it working , hopefully I will patch it soon.

Want to be clear recent events really sicken me, so I will be returning to modding to do a one-off project of the rocket Tsyklon.

If you are in the United Kingdom, you can donate for humanitarian aid at:
    https://www.dec.org.uk/

I can't promise the same kind of pace as old Tantares updates, but I will see what I can do, patches and the 2MV may finally be fortchcoming too.

  2. Will be watching this for future mod compatibilities. Been waiting for a waterfall SRB mod, didn't know it was possible though.

I've got a question for you all, would you rather I leave separation motors untouched or should they have waterfall as well? (Asking because BDB has a lot of different solid powered engines)

It would be nice to have them use waterfall, but like you said a lot of different engines in BDB for example so whatever you feel like doing I guess. Don't burn yourself out.

Will there be b9 variants of the parts without the decals? so We can just have the plain rocket?

I did ask a while ago about them expanding on the b9 switch variants, and REACH did say coming soon. So take this with a grain of salt.

(This was originally because you can make a CZ-3A & C but the main tank still says CZ-3B)

Does anyone have configs to use this with community resource pack?

That is what I was requesting but sounds like they only offer realism overhaul configs. So for the mean time no LH2 Cz5 first stage.

I hope the decal switching feature stays and is expanded. I made a CZ-3A and CZ-3C but the tanks still say CZ-3B.

Yes, we will add them in the future. But maybe they will be add in KSP2 edition of this mod.

I'm not sure what you mean by "heavy launch vehicle for human lunar mission", maybe Artemis and SLS will go to the moon earlier, but they won't  be part of this mod. China's heavy launch vehicle for manned lunar mission is Long March 9, but it has no definite design yet. We will add it after the definite design.

Thoughts about what I posted earlier? About adding realistic fuel to the tanks.

  6. I have been away from PC gaming for some time now and did not even know this wonderful mod has been updated to finally include CZ-5+more! Excited for the CZ-2 variant for manned spacecraft.

I only have one suggestion if possible, it seems to me that the CZ5 main stage tank uses LiquidFuel and not Liquid Hydrogen which I believe it does use. Is there a specific reason for this? If possible could this be changed for more realistic weight or realism as a whole? Unsure about the upper stage but I thought CZ5 was LH2 based.

Thanks for updating and excited for the future of the mod!

Yes - one way is to edit BaselineConfig.cfg

    Replace the line: EVAREPAIRS_BASELINE_CONFIG

    with: @PART[*]:HAS[@MODULE[ModuleEnginesFX]]

The downside to this approach is you'd need to do it every time you update EVA Repairs. A better way would be to write a Module Manager patch to remove the EVAREPAIRS_BASELINE_CONFIG module from all parts except engines. I usually mess those patches up, so implementing that is best left as an exercise for the intrepid reader.

Thanks for sharing, hopefully this is save compatible. Is it possible to make it so solar panels can also fail?

In love with this mod, amazing work on the modelling and texturing ;)

also the plumes are stunning,  I love the mixture of Realplume and Waterfall

I believe the only reason both are being used is because it detects you have both installed and uses both plumes at the same time. IMO it looks better with waterfall and not realplume installed ;)

Did you put StockWaterfallEffects into your GameData?

StockWaterfallEffects is not listed as a requirement/recommended. Only WaterFall and RealPlume.

I did go ahead and try this and it worked! So thanks! I am guessing the people making this mod don't have English as their first language, which isn't a big deal but maybe this should be added to prevent future issues!

Note to devs: If you want someone to make better english translations, do message me and I'll see if I can help!

    Kerwis Team Presents

On April 24, 1970, China sent her first artificial satellite into space and started a long march of space exploration.

This mod aims to bring all of the Chinese spacecraft and launch vehicles from the past half-century to the near future into the game.

In the first release, we are added China's earliest orbital rocket, Long March - 1(长征一号, Changzheng) and first satellite Dongfanghong - 1 (东方红一号, The East is Red) into the game. Other Chinese launch vehicles, manned and unmanned spacecraft, will be added later on.

    4HBSFx.png

The rocket has three stages, the first stage uses a YF-2 engine (a 4 YF-1 cluster), and the second stage uses a YF-3 engine(a high-altitude variant of YF-1), which controls attitude using gas rudders. The third stage uses a solid fuel engine FG-02 with an observation skirt (according to our research, it may actually be an expandable gasbag). The satellite is capable of broadcast a piece of music named "Dongfanghong" on the radio, to prove China's ability of space launching.

I have been waiting for more Chinese rocket mods for so long. Thank you for releasing such a high quality mod love it! Can't wait for the future!

EDIT: I just tried the mod and ran into an issue. I am not getting any plumes on the YF engines. I do get a plume on the SRB third stage though.

I have the latest release of waterfall installed. Do I need another version or does real plume also need to be installed?

    Whats coming next?

VFB of course to catch up with the functionality of the old skylab. Keep in mind all the VFB parts here are not textured, they're using temporary materials to help visualise.

The SM for the Apollo is meant to have dual LMDEs for redundancy and for increased space for the mission module. For now you can get by with one but Cobalt will make a dual mount at some point. You dont have room for a full SPS.

Worth noting that the real design calls for only the top of the SLA panels covering the gap to be jettisoned and the rest to be retained as MM shielding but we're not going to do that in order to have a more interesting model and textures for the mission module.

    unknown.png?width=855&height=652

Multi experiment boom in an aerodynamic housing.

    unknown.png?width=834&height=652

12x solar panels serve double duty as micrometeorite shielding (yes really!)

    unknown.png?width=1035&height=653

Some aspects of how the solars will be functional and protected during ascent in game are still being discussed but this is the basic idea.

    unknown.png?width=938&height=652

    unknown.png?width=1060&height=653

We also have this unpressurized section below the mission module containing some life support greebles, a large telescope and a quad entry probe dispenser. The probe container and telescope are separate parts so you have options to configure as desired.

    unknown.png?width=909&height=652

Entry probes have a solid rocket motor with sufficient Dv to change trajectory to enter the atmosphere roughly an hour before closest approach. They are launched sequentially for wider coverage. They dont have drag devices but were expected to survive impact (!)

    unknown.png?width=855&height=652

My goodness is this ETS type stuff? Next big update is gonna be amazing!

I have taken a break from KSP for a while now and funny enough one of the last rockets I made was a kitbash with BDB & Tantares to make a H-II rocket and another Japanese rockets.

Now in the future when I start playing again, there will be a dedicated and high quality Japanese rockets mod. Thanks Beale, really do look towards this mods release.
