1. This actually worked, thanks a lot man. If anyone else has this issue, the actual steps I took was: 1. Install the PS DDS plugin for Mac, found here. 2. Open both the "Earth_NRM.dds" and the "EarthColor.dds" with photoshop. 3. Save as, Replace original, & with the settings: < Format: DXT5, Check "Mipmap", Filter: Mitchell > The "Mipmap" option wasn't checked originally and simply re-saving didn't make a difference, when I tried checking it it seemed to do the trick. - I must say that I don't have a clue what I'm doing here and I've yet to fully test it out in game, but it does seem to be working fine now.
2. Ahh, I see thats good to know, I was assuming that Mac was considered "impossible" just because of the 32 bit obstacle (bring on 1.1!) As for the work-around I can vouch that its very stable up until now, as far as I've heard its much more stable than the windows workaround. (This is the first bug I've encountered in 7 months of playing it), but I think your probably right it will have something to do with it. I can confirm that V10.2 8K textures are working fine with the latest RSS release:
3. Hi Nathan, I have read the OP, I think I mentioned that I had the 8K textures working fine in all previous versions of RSS. You should know It's very stable on Mac since the 64 bit work around Cheers
4. Ahh, I should mention again that Im running KSP on Mac OSX (64 bit, 8gb), I did try moving the folder, no joy though. I'm starting to think maybe that it's somthing to do with my system, perhaps my graphics card or something because I see a similar banded-effect when I try to install the large cloud textures for the RVE mod.. Anyway if no-one else is seeing this its more likely something to do with my end right? I might try installing on a PC later to confirm Anyway, Thanks for your great work on this mod, and for looking into the issue for me, cheers!
5. Hi, Cheers for checking this out. Yeh its a manual install, I have Ckan but every time I try to download the 8k texture pack through Ckan the download stalls. I used a fresh unadulterated download of KSP, and only RSS and the texture pack to check, no joy though. Ill try with a lower res texture pack, see if that changes anything.. OK - So the 4k Textures work fine no problem..
6. Hi all, Anyone else getting this dodgy bug in map-view, tracking station & main menu? Seems to only be certain planets too, Venus & some others are fine. Just downloaded the latest update & texture pack (8k) - Fresh ksp install, 64bit on mac, checked it in 32 aswell. Previous version worked fine. Log: https://www.dropbox.com/s/v9he806l2stihml/KSP.log?dl=0 Cheers
7. Currently using Atlas with the current RO configs. All seems well.
8. Fantastic detail.. Makes a fine addition to my RO real launchers collection Good job!
9. Hi, you will need Blizzy78's Toolbar mod to set the SmokeScreen particle limit lower. Alternatively, edit the SmokeScreen.cfg in GameData > SmokeScreen. Change: 'maximumActiveParticles = 9000' to something like 3000 or 1000 Realplume topic Cheers
10. Can I just say splendid job on the detail! Im using your Atlas V in RSS/RO - Looking great! Cant wait to use your Falcons!
11. Ah okay. I assume then that the weak FX bug is common for everyone? Or just specific users do we know?
12. Hi, could you explain how to do this in more detail? I'm having an issue where all of the RCS thrusters are stuck on the minimum throttle.. I think its something to do with how the translation manoeuvres are assigned..
13. Are you using the correct fuel for that specific engine? - Heres a good guide to getting started with RO - https://github.com/KSP-RO/RealismOverhaul/wiki/First-RO-Rocket
14. Just to add to this: Cryo-Engines mod also does a nice RS-68 with the Delta IV engine shroud. Link: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/106089-105-cryogenic-engines-high-isp-chemical-rockets-221115-105-update/ Cheers
15. Just to add - The problem doesn't seem to be the FX, as far as I can tell the RCS is actually just stuck on the minimum throttle (which is why the FX is tiny).
16. Hi, Yes, removing the configs just removes the parts ability to function in RO. So not a fix, but i thought maybe the problem had somthing to do with the configs. However I checked them all and I no longer think it is the case. Ive also seen a few other people with this issue on the RO thread, so I think its a bug with RealFuels or something. Can I ask, are you on OSX also? Cheers
17. I get the same issue, still looking into it.. What is your setup?
18. Hi all, I'm having an issue with RCS effects pretty much disappearing in 1.0.5. Routed the issue to Realism Overhaul, so I tried a fresh install of KSP and CKAN installed RO with its dependancies, with no fix. Taken a screenshot with and without RO installed: http://imgur.com/8Nx5IY7 The FX don't completely disappear, but appear to be stuck on the 'lowest throttle' animation. I think it might be something to do with the RCSFX Module being incorporated into stock? I tried a load of troubleshooting but i can't seem to pin it down, The FX only come back when i remove RealFuels configs from parts. Playing on OSX 64bit. Anyone getting the same? ideas? Cheers!
19.
We will need some more info, does this happen for RCS parts from other mods, only stock, both. If you can logs
Hi, Its the same for all RCS parts in all of the 'recommended packs' for RO, as-well as stock. The RCS animation is working with the Stock install, only disappears when the RO core mod is added to the gamedata folder. Here's a link to log: https://www.dropbox.com/s/c7qym5g8n45kkcj/Player.txt?dl=0 Cheers! 20. Thanks for the update! Only experiencing one bug, at least I think its a bug. The RCS Thrust FX/plume has almost disappeared, both on the pad and in space, but the RCS is still working physics-wise.. Ive routed the problem to RO, when its removed the animation returns as normal. Tried changing the propellent and all in-game configs but no joy. Even tried a fresh KSP install with only RO installed with CKAN. - Am i missing somthing?/Anyone else getting the same? Cheers
21.
Anyone who have trouble getting Scatterer to work with RSS / Kopernicus can give my patched version a try. It fixes the celestial / transform naming mess by simply detecting the proper celestial body using both names defined in PlanetList.cfg and does the same with assets, like shaders and config. Should help with black sky and NullReference exceptions should be gone altogether for your bonus enjoyment. As a disclaimer, I've only tested it on my setup: OSX 10.11, Stock KSP modded with 64bit UnityPlayer 4.6.4. Only Scatterer and RSS 10.4.1 installed with 8K textures. Feedback from 32bit and/or Windows / Linux host with and without RSS would be appreciated. Without any further ado: Pull request for the technically inclined: https://github.com/LGhassen/Scatterer/pull/5 GameData snapshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/pejxjr4rrnrfuo6/scatterer-0.191-rss-compat-c0a39c7.zip How it looks with 100% default configuration: http://imgur.com/a/1NZLq Have fun!
Great fix, solved the black sky issue for me, running OSX with same set up as you. Only issue I have now is the black line flashing on the horizon.. I think I can see this on the KSC image that you uploaded aswell, Is this a default configuration issue with RSS? if so, does anyone know which parameter to change in the UI? Ive tried a few different things but no resolve.. Cheers Setup: OSX 10.11, 64bit UnityPlayer 4.6.4. RSS 10.4.1 with Scatterer & EVE (latest)
22. Hi, having this exact same issue with the SuperDracos, Did you ever find a solution? Using RS & RO btw.. Cheers
23. Partially solved by removing all of the 'Smoke' elements from RealPlume. Not a fantastic improvement but noticeable. Maybe this is a performance issue. Could anyone give me an idea of the 'Ideal' specs for running RO and RS? Thankyou
24. Hi, This is my first post here, been googling for a solution for ages and cant seem to find the exact problem.. Ive installed a clean version of KSP to play with RO and RS. The problem Im having is during launch of any rocket, big or small, i get a stutter ever second or so.. This isnt like the lag that you normally get with larger rockets, its more like a clockwork stutter every second, maybe more like a physics issue? I did some trouble shooting and i think ive routed the problem to RealPlume, when i remove this part of RO the effect has gone. Ive never had performance issues before, even with my heavily modded main version of the game.. Anyone else had this issue? Ive checked on youtube and others seem to run RO/RS fine.. Im running: MacBook Pro OSX Lion 2.6 GHz Intel i7 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB KSP 1.0.4 with: RO RS (Smallest Textures) Procedural parts/fairings (Non procedural parts deleted) ATM KWRocketry Mechjeb And all required supporting mods for RO and RS. Cheers!
