  1. I was stressing over my med school finals so decided I'd wipe the dust off my old gaming computer. Booted up steam looked at EVE online and decided I didn't have enough time, then in the recommened at bottom was A weird green guy... Initally played about half an hour, loved it, so played a bit every night. In my final holiday before work I managed to get to all the plannets and now its something to look forward to after a busy shift!
  2. Ahhhh but I liked the idea that my probes would become self aware after being abandoned on distant bodies for many ingame years, then decide to return to kerbin and liberate their enslaved comrades!!
  3. LKO and suborbital - Gemini Mun - Apollo Minmus - Apollini Asteroid - Rosetta Stone Duna - Ares Eve - Scott (doomed to never return) Gilly - Thimble Moho - Icarus Dres - King Edward Jool Mothership - Independance
  4. I'm yet to play KSP today, but I did dream last night that I escaped Eves Eve-il atmosphere, gonna try...
  5. Be incredibly simplistic style: pressurise it and blow it out the back -> monoprop... Or I guess fusion, but you'd need a lot of other things Maybe put the JET in space then see

    Books???

I want to start reading a new series, just wondering what other people are reading at the moment?? or suggestions (pref scifi/fantasy)
  7. The thing about genetics is that anything that happens to you after the average age of reproduction does not matter from a selection perspective. It's the reason delayed onset of disease is common. Reproduction is quite tricky for us to begin with, and for ancient humans maternal mortality was high enough that menopause (and senescence) were not a problem! Also we do not have an infinite supply of eggs (ovum) and sperm quality decreases over time.
  8. If KSP was used as an inspiration for a film what would that film be called (plus tag line), who would direct it and what would be the plot summary?
  9. Humans travelling in space are subjected to huge amounts of stress physically. Microgravity causes muscle wasting, loss of bone density, acute hydrocephalus and longer term causes immune supression. Beyond earths magnetosphere we are subjected to high levels of radiation for long periods. So what would be the biggest health challenge and how would you solve it?
  10. I just want to thank the developers of kerbal for helping me with their amazing game. My whole life I have suffered with bipolar to varying extreme and went through a particularly volatile period the past two years. My decisions become more irrational (and hilarious if you look at them right (which you have to) ) when I have my "manic" phases. But I close myself off from people for fear of showing my distress. When I am low I hide myself out of low energy and inability to cope (I feel slow). But always there and always constant is the free space that is ksp. When I've had a tough day at uni I go back to my laptop, boot up ksp and forget about my stress, forget about my problems and just exist. I have a sand box I dedicate to when I am most manic and some of the creations are umm, jebediah like... I look forward to 1.1
  11. also when your girlfriend tries to get back at you for playing to much ksp so takes it up herself and is now playing more than you due to less contact hours
  12. I got so annoyed watching Kingsman when she tries to blow up a satalite by going up in a balloon vertically and somehow keeps it in sight for about 30 seconds
  13. My girlfriend loves playing kerbal, although it did start as a backlash against me playing kerbal too much so she took it up to, now we play the same save game building stuff in orbit and completing missions together.
