  1. Eh, why not I'll change it to 8 engines. I have no idea why I put that rule in the first place... I changed rules so I had to clear the leaderboard, your now first place.
  2. I made a challenge thread called air speed record you guys can try it if you want to.
  3. This challenge is called the Air Speed Record, you build the fastest stock aircraft you can and put your submission in the comments below through video or screenshot. Video is preferred over screenshot It's pretty straight forward however there are some rules to make sure this challenge is fair for everyone! Rules No rocket engines of any sort with the exception of rapier engines! No SRB's (Solid rocket boosters)! NO cheats! It must all be stock (no mods)! You may not use more than 8 engines. You may not go above 30,000 meters. It all must be in one stage, no seperatrons, decouplers, etc. It must be on Kerbin. It must be manned (No drones). Submissions are taken through screenshots and video but video is much more appreciated. It must take off from the runway. Have fun, and don't get discouraged. It must be a plane, not a rocket with a bunch of jet engines attached. This must be in KSP version 1.0.5 or later! Provide aircraft name! Down here is the leaderboard where the current record holder's are displayed. Leaderboard Radieur Ng - 3056 M/S "Pointy McGoFast" JW2016 - 3276 M/S "JW2016-02-17" Potatto 2729 M/S "Speed-O-Bust" Spudrotuskutarsu - 2628 M/S "DS X1 Shooting Star" Triop - 2493 M/S Chocolat Oreos - 2100 M/S "The Swifty Monster" evader - 2082 M/S "liquid fuel only production mkII prorokbmx - 1873 M/S AquaAlmond - 1778 M/S "SB-3 Peregrine" Gojira1000 - 1690 M/S "x-2" My Submission The plane is called the SB-3 Peregrine the third plane in the SB series, named after the Peregrine Falcon the world's fastest bird. It reaches a top speed of 1778 M/S in this video. Recommended Recording Software OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) Free, no watermark, customizable recording settings. Fraps (Good quality recording software, but costs money, wouldn't buy it for this challenge if you don't already have it.) Bandicam Trial (Free, good quality video but there is a watermark) Recommended Editing Software Obviously you don't need to edit the video but it will make the quality of the video better. Lightworks (Free video editing software with lots of features, but it can take a while to learn to use. Option to upgrade, upgrade provides more features) Windows Movie Maker / iMovie (Depending on what OS you have this will be included, free, simple, easy to use but don't expect much out of it) Once again don't get discouraged and have fun and make sure to follow the rules Put submissions below in the comments Video is preferred over screenshot
  4. I'd give you some tips if I knew what your current configuration is, there are plenty of tutorials out there for recording with OBS so I suggest checking a few out.
  5. Ok so after trying the craft for a bit I am going to give pros and cons. Pros -Yaw is great -Early liftoff -Good aesthetics -Ground clearance -Structural integrity holds up when pulling sharp turns at high speeds -Decent amount of fuel -Capable of moderate altitude flight (10,000-15,000) Cons -Although maneuverable, if I try to pull a sharp turn it will continue to move in the previous direction (Make it lighter, too much inertia) -Top speed of around 400ms which is relatively slow compared to other planes the same size -You seem to have somewhat induced super maneuverability, but like I said earlier it feels like I'm flying a rock and inertia will continue to move the plane in the previous direction it was going -Small wingspan which may have something to do with the 'rock' like feel because it can't bite the air Don't let this list discourage you, but think of it as something you can use to improve on. I made a couple super maneuverable stunt planes called the um and the um-2 you can check them out on my YouTube channel if you want, I don't know if they are any better but maybe they can be some point of reference. The channel link is in my signature below
  6. I'll try it and tell you what I think *edit* Download did not work for some reason it isn't a craft file..
  7. Here's my submission. The plane's name is the SB-2 Albatross self-proclaimed fastest plane in KSP capable of reaching speeds of above 2800 M/S at altitudes of under 30,000 meters. Here is my submission, it reached 1385 M/S @ 1801 meters Check out the original air speed run where it reached 2710 M/S on my channel! Channel link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMahyasjKNXy3hZU3IxPsUA
  8. Closer to 1400ms but that is why I needed to put on the heat cheats to go past that speed at that altitude..
  9. Well it's closer to 1400 M/S when aircraft do blow up, but it couldn't be the fastest plane even with heat shields to reach that speed so I had to turn on the heat cheat. I'm slightly confused by what you mean though, are you saying that it can reach the speed I said (1500-1700) but only for a few seconds? Or just that it would explode at that speed?
  10. The SB-2 Albatross was originally meant to be a orbital bomber, but I saw the high speeds it could reach in the atmosphere and it gained a new purpose, to be the fastest plane! I'm not sure if this is the fastest plane in KSP, but I could not find a single stage traditional plane on YouTube that exceeded this speed. I made a challenge thread called Air Speed Record! Here's a link to it! http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/132268-air-speed-record-challenge/#comment-2412910 And no, it isn't just a matter of having non air breathing engines so I can reach that altitude, I still got it to go to 1600-1700 M/S at 10km up. Subscribe and like so this channel can continue to grow please Lastly can you please tell me what you think of the video quality, I am trying some new recording software called OBS. Thanks!! Anyway, here's the video. Song: Electric Joy Ride - Origin
  11. This is the next aircraft in my UM series, the UM-2. I'll try to upload a bit more regularly since I haven't in a few days. The UM-2 Is a lightweight, agile stunt jet based off of the SU-47 but obviously not meant to be a replica or 'copy' due to it's many differences. Aircraft Download: https://www.dropbox.com/s/kpbzhysaip3sgo8/UM-2.craft?dl=0 Feedback is appreciated so I can improve my aircraft design and video quality. Like, Subscribe and Share if you want to! Song: Janji Feat. TR - Milky Way Stars
  12. I use bandicam and lightworks for editing (both free) I plan on upgrading to a better recorder soon. Lightworks has proven to be a good alternative to other free video editing software. Much better than something like windows movie maker.
  13. Very cool! I made my own super maneuverable plane called the UM-1 on my channel if you want to check it out I have a link to my channel in my signature. As far as making the plane better, I have no suggestions but a showcase video of what this plane can do would be nice.
  14. Hi, I'm low on ideas and am wondering what you think I should do in my next video? Please tell me down below in the comments. Here's a link to my channel if you want to check it out: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMahyasjKNXy3hZU3IxPsUA
