Will .24 break saves?
Pingonaut replied to montyben101's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Why would you want to continue a save that is outdated, though? -
Kerbal Aeronautics and Space Administration Flag/Logo
Pingonaut replied to Pingonaut's topic in KSP Fan Works
It won't be a flag, rather a small patch on the astronaut's suit! -
(I'm not a Star Trek watcher so I only very slightly understand the reference.)

No, I don't need any more than the high-res image. Thanks though -

Yeah, I know this, I wasn't actually looking to make it into a flag, though. Using it on astronaut suits. Thanks for the help. -
Kerbal Aeronautics and Space Administration Flag/Logo

Exactly like that. Did you make that or find it? -
I was looking for a NASA flag/patch that was Kerbal'd, and I found this: Very high quality and accurate, but I really wanted a KASA patch. I found one but it is much lower quality and less accurate to the NASA patch. Does anybody know how to make/know where I can find the above patch but with the extra A? I didn't know where to post this, because it's not really concerning add-ons and the fanart forum is for showing things off, so I posted it here.

Are you using Universe Replacer? TextureReplacer is what you need to be using, now. Uou can set specific suits to specific names and even set suits that go only with female or male hair. UniverseReplacer is very old and not even updated for the current version of KSP.
-
The first set of suits that are done, as far as I can tell. Download link. Using Google Drive because I don't know how to upload it to github like everybody else (I hate Curse). If anyone can explain it to me that'd be great.
-
Yes, there is. In the Texture Replacer's folder (found in GameData) go to @DEFAULT.cfg and it will instruct you how to do such things. I actually make custom variants with silver/gold flight pins like astronauts get before and after they make their first trip to space. I'll make a pack of it and release it when I'm done, and I will have a few different options of colored suits.
-
I think the Star Trek-like colors work very well. This is the end result (I decided to go with higher contrast colors), I'm considering whether or not to add the small patches on each one. (Yellow-Steering Wheel, Red-Cog,Blue-atom&red plus).
-
I think that'd be a cool idea, where could I find this? Edit: How's this? Like previously, only the one arm and left side of the helmet is colored. The rest is grey. Command - Engineer - Science/Medical
-
It's using Texture Replacer. I used the base suit textures from another pack created for the mod. If I get permission (and find out who it was, first) I'll put it up for download when I'm finished. The poor medics!
-
You can go here to download these suits. It requires Texture Replacer. I've been messing around with custom astronaut suits for Kerbals and I'm debating whether or not to have a part of their suit indicating what their specific job for the mission is, being pilot, medic, biologist, geologist, etc. It would look like below. I just wanted others' opinions on this idea. I really don't know how to do it on smaller manned missions where one kerbal has many jobs, though. This could've been in the Addons section but I thought it was more fitting here. Original colors: Divisions rather than specific jobs (suggested to be similar to Star Trek's):

Flag showing on EVA jetpack
Pingonaut replied to Pingonaut's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
There's no reason it would cause problems just by switching textures. The model that the flag is placed on is not affected. -
Flag showing on EVA jetpack
Pingonaut replied to Pingonaut's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
That's a pretty poor thing to have to do to fix this, my flag is the correct size. Moreover, I want to be able to plant flags on places I visit. This was not a problem (IIRC) before I used a texture replacer for the jetpack. -
Flag showing on EVA jetpack

In the recent update your command pods and such now show your mission's flag on the side. Apparently, it also shows on the EVA jetpack. It's horrible. The flag is on both sides and isn't actually connected to the pack, so it's jumpy when you move even slightly. Is there any way to keep the flag from showing up?

Attempting to edit a custom space suit, need some advice

Sadly I have tried this, and it looks very nasty. I may forget it and just work around it. -
BROKEN [0.90] TextureReplacer 2.1.2 (20.12.2014)
Pingonaut replied to shaw's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I am unable to edit my posts due to a bug, so I have to repost it to fix the broken link. It's enabled by this mod using either Astronomer's Visual Pack, which also adds Auroras and dust storms on Duna and other planets, or Better Atmospheres, which is not as extensive (and sometimes adds things that are very out of place). I would also suggest using Distant Object Enhancement along with them. If you want volumetric clouds you're going to want to have a planet texture that does not have clouds. -

Why you no use volumetric clouds, though? -
(I may not be able to edit the post due to a bug, if I need to. Just FYI.) I've been messing around with TextureReplacer and have come across a lot of very good texture packs and suits. I'm trying to take a suit and customize it to fit what I want to do in the game, but I'm having a bit of trouble with editing images. I have always used Paint.net (for years) and haven't tried much else, but I'm willing to learn if need be. I'm trying to remove this pouch from the arm of a suit, I cropped out the colored part so I am able to recolor it without affecting the rest of the suit, but I do not want this little part here, because I want to place a flag or mission flag there. What would be the best way of doing this and make it seamless?

BROKEN [0.90] TextureReplacer 2.1.2 (20.12.2014)

I would love to extract the hairstyles, I just need to figure out how to do so without taking the green of the skin with me, and without making the hair to face transition too sharp. Any suggestions?
