First off, thanks for the No-Prize. I am staggered. I don't know what to say. Once I will win the bel-Prize some where else, I am certainly in possession of a Nobel-Prize ... Well, you forget - they do not have nukes. Within a matter of minutes mankind would have destroyed Kerbulus. As for the story development, I am somewhat confused: If every person knowing about the link is added to that link - then the thoughts of the persons known about would transfer through that link and as they're known by a subject of the link, they would be transferred back, thus creating an infinite loop. Now, that means the information contained in that link is trapped forever and hence transferred forth and back forever. That makes it impossible to distinguish new thoughts from old thoughts, unless they come with a time stamp. As we never heard about such a timestamp I am curious - how is information prevented from leaping forth and back again?

Alright. Would have been really surprised if none of the images used editing beyond power point. Well then keep up the good work. Really looking forward to the next episodes...

You are using power point for these comics? Wow. I always assumed you used something like photoshop, gimp or illustrator in order to manipulate the images. But yeah I assume that power point works as well. Never really got into that program because of linux :)

OK please keep the topic title as is - even if we do not launch today. Keeping it will under no circumstances lead to some kind of confusion or frustration among readers. It also will not affect RSPs credibility - seriously - it won't... This post does not contain irony or sarcasm and is meant to be understood literally. Seriously there is no irony...

I am wondering the same: A Mk-2 spaceplane I successfully landed time and again in 1.0.5 suddenly has issues with reentry in 1.1. Cockpit is heating up in the upper atmosphere and just goes boom after some time... Anybody else experiencing the same problem? Or is it just my space-plane skills which suddenly got really, really crappy?

Well in my career I did finance a lot of trips to Minmus and a few to the Mun by "building" surface bases. Usually those contracts require you to send space for 4-6 Kerbals and a cupola. Thing is, attach a tank beneath and an engine and you have a nice lander which is totally capable of returning to Kerbin. As long as you do not take off from Minmus before the contract is completed (usually like 10s) it is totally legit to fly the entire base back home...

Guess it is time to unpack the anomaly scanner and send it to a very low polar munar orbit?Oh and open your savefile with a text editor and search for that name...
-
Is that a clean savegame you are playing, or have you sent anything else to the Mun before? Maybe left a flag or a satellite there with that name?

Well, even if you do not have any concept of violence, you do know terms like death and hurting oneself, because you know - things happen. That's enough to describe murder and violence...

Well, all those speculations do not take into account, that Wernher apparently does have German roots while nobody on Kerbulus ever spoke German which generally is supporting the idea of a German W-Continuum...

Is the kPad clipping through the shoe? Isn't that like cheating? Anyways, as for the Wernherr speculations around here, I have to add my two cents. First off, there has been no statement which directly referred to the fact there was only one Wernher, however, there has been no statement which did exclude that possibility. In the case of a single-Wernher Universe (SWU) all those speculations are more or less valid. However, consider a MWU (Multi-Wernher Universe) there's a much more important question, which has not been asked yet: Where's the Wernher from Kerbulus? Now, if we consider the fact, that the author himself is slightly referring to the ideas of Roddenberry, we have to take into consideration the possibility of the existence of a counterpart of the Q-Continuum or in this fictional universe - the W-Continuum. If that is the case, then Wernher might appear anywhere he likes to in any appearance.

Well, I bought the game for 40 Eur directly from Squad and didn't regret it. That is to say, taking into account thing such as my income, and the time I spent with that game. However, if your income is low 40 Eur might be a big thing (which basically is the reason you pay a certain percentage of your income in terms of taxes). So I can understand if somebody gets frustrated to see the price "increased" by a factor of 1.7 hence levelling the game out of your paygrade. In that case it might be the best option to wait for some of those special offers which have been pointed to already.

Decentralize Save-Game files
something replied to AdmiralTigerclaw's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Yeah something needs to be done about those loading times. They're getting ridiculous: KSP 1.1 likes to parse all the save files in your folder in order to display information like budget, date, flights reputation etc. Now, if you play career for a certain time your save file gets really big. Like 8+MB. If you have a lot of backups, like I do, then you run into 190+ files having that size. In that case KSP just needs ages to load the loading screen in which you can choose the file to load. That's a no-go in my eyes. KSP 1.0.5 simply listed the file names and everything was fast. To put that on a scale: With my quadcore 3.5 GHz machine it takes the program approximately 10 seconds to parse 10 savefiles of 8MB each (from hitting "Load Save" to getting the response in terms of a list). Seriously, that's not too much in my eyes and my computing power shouldn't be that outdated... Multiply that by 19 and you get the time I should have been waiting to see a list. 2 minutes? Really? Instead I assumed, the game froze for some reason and killed it. So, some sort of work needs to be done here. I would be happy with a switch somewhere in the options to get back to the 1.0.5 list. -
Installed KSP 1.1 yesterday. Today, I installed all those mods to make my savegames work with 1.1. Finally, found out that I will need to rework most of my rovers in order to make them functional again. Well and then I will have to cheat the new rovers through the Kerbol system ... Oh well and then I found out that it's apparently no problem for an offroad vehicle to reach 38.5m/s but those breaking distances -15s? Really? I guess I need to make sure the wheels are no longer blocking when breaking...

Suggestion - Giving life to the Kerbals
something replied to EasyAce's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Didn't play the remastered version...just heard they didn't implement the fuel consumption which in itself would render the Repair Corvette useless.... oops offtopic? Give me living Kerbals already if needed simply implement the Hyperspace Jump docking algorithms from aforementioned game... -
Anyone else have trouble flying your Kerbal EVA in space?
something replied to jpinard's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Had the same problem on my first EVA...and it's tsken its time to learn to not confuse up/down with fore/aft - here are some hints: Take your time. In orbit there's no need to be fast since it is a frictionless vacuum - you will move forever. Be one dimensional for the start. Cancel your speed dimension by dimension. Then go wherever you want. If you accelerate in the wrong direction don't panic. Think of what key you hit and cancel the acceleration by accelerating in the opposite ditection. Setting your vessel as target might help since you can then use the navballmarkers to get back (did that on my first EVA to get back to the vessel. -
Suggestion - Giving life to the Kerbals
something replied to EasyAce's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Yeah, felt that way before... 3D path calculation shouldn't be that complicated. Homeworld did that back in '99. -
Interesting, so Kerbulus has the ability to cloak their vessels, yet they are visible in the IR spectrum when firing up their engines... Also, I am wondering what physical force is keeping those planets aligned? As they are in each others L3 points they are nominally on unstable orbits and most probably would lose alignment until they'd be in each others L4 / L5 points. As both planets did not know about that fact - and hence could prevent a misaligning process - it is likely there's a third, yet unknown, planet orbiting Kerbol on a yet undiscovered orbit. Well or simply there's no three body physics in the Kerbol system. I am excited to find out...
