  1. We have the devs involved in the hype thread now, and a page count of 69+. It is almost impossible to post without having 3 new replies waiting to be read. what does this mean? Hype is Definitely Happening!
  2. If you become ill due to a hype-related condition, please contact emergency services, and then deploy smooth jazz.
  3. If you don't have a paper bag nearby, please get one, because you are probably hyperventilating.
  4. Hype is reduced by arbitrary labeling of where you bought the game.
  5. Speaking of Terminus, what would Isaac Asimov have thought of KSP?
  6. Verdana is a good hype font. It certainly is less speed-reducing than Comic Sans.
  7. Shakespeare himself couldn't write something as entertaining as this thread.
  8. A Hype Resuscitation team is on standby, and will step in if anyone passes out from hype.
  9. The hype is too fast to post without getting a notification before you finish typing!
  10. The hype increases Riots begin in our wake 1.1 will come. I'm horrible at counting syllables, so this may or may not be a haiku.
  11. 0/10, no photo This is the Molecular Disruption Device (also known as the "Little Doctor") from Ender's Game. Basically, it creates an expanding area where electrons can't be shared. The more stuff it ruins, the more powerful it becomes. So, it's a planet killer of sorts.
  12. I would assume they would take over part of the earth, and then we would do one of 3 things: 1. Nuke it. Nuclear weapons would be able to destroy all grey goo in the immediate area, and/or fry a bunch of them with the resulting electromagnetic pulse. 2. Destroy them with fire. Lots of it. Napalm seems like it would be pretty effective, since you can deploy it out of range of the goo, and it is self-spreading. In addition, it could be used to impede the path of the goo. 3. Use the kill switch any sane and rational engineer or scientist would include in the design.
  13. If we add a quad-phased entrophy inverter with a thermally-induced Theta-field reactor hooked up to it, then it should be sufficiently cooled. By the way, the nuclear-chained energy compression dampener requires something to prevent resonance cascades from shutting down the whole thing's power grid.
  14. We could leave it as it is and just include a tri-dimensional electrostatic dispersal unit, which usually prevents increases in specific outpulse. Of course, that's assuming the Casper-Avery theory of field unification is in fact applicable.
  15. The only problem would be Chekov Radiation from the from the interaction between the asdermatum and melotetramine gel. We don't want any of that happening or some random, normally unnecessary part will inevitably fail when it becomes important.
