The control has to be stock too! In my video, the 3 "homing missiles" are all using target-lock to auto follow a target once at launching speeds.
-
KSC Returns fire after taking heavy damage from an unknown assailant launching from the abandoned airstrip!
-
When the island attacks using stock weapons what should we do!? Return fire with MORE stock weapons!!
-
Yea... I don't want to go into the dozen's of hours of test rigs and rotating joint flop ideas haha. This one seemed to work particularly well, with minimal unwanted explosions!
-
A little stock weapon I've been working on! Granted...this particular GIF it happen to inflict exactly zero damage haha! The Mobile V2 Launcher
-
YES! Nice weapon! This is exactly what I want to see!
-
I want to do a hardcore mode of this Challenge. Maybe with a 500m ceiling and gun turrets shooting at you on every corner. THAT would be a Death Star run!
-
According to my math he busted the ceiling at 3:24
-
I want to see these weapons! I've been tossing ideas around on how to make a flak gun of sorts myself
-
It can be a dumb bomb dropped from a craft or a SAM missile, or some kind of ICBM. Anything designed as a weapon, used as a weapon, and destroys things counts (STOCK!) So far my testing shows that a detached missile reverts to the default SAS control. So far the only way I can get them to guide themselves is by switching to the missile or making the missile the "Main part" and that way the camera will follow it (still have to switch back to your main ship after launch though.)
-
If it's stock and it is designed to inflict damage on other things, then yes it qualifies
-
It actually IS enough to click hold target and it will "guide" itself to the target. I'm still working on the accuracy of the Stock guided missile but it is definitely possible. Here are two examples of missiles guiding themselves to the target. One on solid fuel, one on liquid fuel. Liquid Fueled Guided Missile Solid Fueled Guided Missile (at 4 minutes 14 seconds) https://youtu.be/AvTYTCiTuH8?t=4m14s Hmm, I'll allow it. No BD weaponry though!

Hi there Fireheart318! I have accepted AND completed your challenge! I score myself at 3 minutes 25 seconds but I will of course wait until you review my video and accept this as truth and push me up to the first place spot My vehicle entry is my stock built Phoenix 5 (click for craft page) and it manged to hit a top speed of 1316m/s during the race!

Stock Weapons Challenge! Contrary to public misconception, stock weapons ARE a thing, and I want to see your creations! The Challenge: Build & Deploy a custom weapon using only stock KSP parts. WATCH THE STOCK WEAPONS CHALLENGE VIDEO TRAILER BELOW INSTRUCTIONS Build a STOCK weapon and deploy it against a specific target. You may only use parts from Stock KSP, no BD armory of course, other mods are ok as long as they don't provide any unfair advantages. You must use KSP Version 1.0 or later. To complete this challenge you must meet the following requirements: 1) Picture, GIF, or Video of your weapon. 2) Picture, GIF, or Video of the aftermath of your deployed weapon. 3) You MUST call your target (ex: VAB building, or a specific craft, or "ENTIRE RUNWAY") 4) You MUST prove your weapon works (accuracy be damned!) Impress me!

[1.2 stock] B-47 Stratojet with WEAPONS
Krog34 replied to Krog34's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Thanks! She flys like a dream, it's funny how little work you have to do when you copy real life designs haha. For the most part the aerodynamics translate over to KSP well. -
Arado 234 and the V1 Buzz Bomb Click to Download! The Arado 234 was a real wartime jet plane utilized by /\/azi Germany's Luftwaffe. They used it for a lot of purposes, wreaking havoc and terror being one of them. Here is an AR 234 equipped with 2 small bombs and 1 large. Also, on top you have a controllable V1 bomb. Admittedly, the V1 needed 2 Juno engines to fly well, so I nested them into eachother, deal with it! It's all stock and a ton of fun to fly. Have fun, bomb all the things!! RATO (Rocket Assist Take Off) pods hang under each wing and are dropped at the end of the run way. The Germans sure love their rockets! Fully loaded, the AR 234 can fly without the available engine gimble OR afterburners toggled, while FULLY loaded. The V1 is a completely separate and totally controllable craft with decent range. Scary to think these actually flew on London.

B-47 Stratojet Click to Download So after binge watching lots of war and aviation documentaries, I found myself recreating one of the coolest jets that ever flew in real life. Take a few minutes to take a peak at my replica dropping "nukes" on KSC, all stock of course! A side view, showing the 3 engines spooling up on the runway. I like to bind each wing's engines to seperate thrust reverse controls so that I can 360 in place on the ground for easy turn arounds. A top down shot showing the wide wing span, I think scale-wise, the wings should actually be longer. But these are like version4 on the wing designs, gonna go with these for now Totally unnecessary, but the Stratojet comes equipped with 6 mini rocket boosters for short take offs. Not unlike the real B-47. Flight is easy, even with a full uneven load! Ok, now the goods! Toggle the bay doors to reveal 4 "Nuclear Devices"! I'm quite proud of this one, having tried many versions of bombs with different fin orientations nothing seemed to satisfy me. But, with a SAS unit and tiny probe core, the short battery life holds the bombs in the correct orientation all the way to the target. Who needs BD Armory anyways! Also, you can see the RASCAL guided missile. Be sure to "control from here" on the probe unit to correctly orient the Nav Ball while flying the RASCAL. Bombs away! 2 more drops 1 direct hit! 1 near hit! 6 wheesly engines are powerful enough to put this large jet into a loop while still loaded with the RASCAL, time for a second attack run! FOX 1! The RASCAL missile is very fast and fairly manuerable Direct hit! One final attack run in an attempt to knock any building down! But what do we have left to attack with...? Auxiliary fuel tanks go! No dice A final loop to head back to the runway, feeling much more powerful with a lot of extra weight dropped. Bicycle style landing gear emulates the real plane, but I've added some help for easier landings Don't mind their terrified faces, it was a smooth landing. Thanks for reading this far, please download the B-47 for yourself and bomb KSC too! Post your pics on here as well, I'd like to see what you guys do with my jet!

I built this "ramp" the other day in KSP and I named it, "KICKER RAMP" just like that, in ALL caps. I was so proud, jeb died SO many times on it. I though this thing was the greatest, i jumped over the ENTIRE pool next to the Admin building. The ramp was like 10 feet tall, and now I'm watching your video like O_O OMG MY POOR BABY RAMP. Your video(s) are seriously great, I had to go rename my ramp "Baby One"

Have you ever tried to build an SSTO and it just didn't have that kick to get to orbit on it's own? Look no further! The B2-T will literally claw to your craft and BRING her to orbit. Check it out for yourself!

Great Fox (your favorite Smash Bros level comes to KSP!)
Krog34 replied to Krog34's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
I agree, MK2 sort of fit the bill a bit better, in fact i started with the MK2 cockpit. My early attempts were composed of many parts and it kept exploding under thrust. I went with MK3 to keep the part count down and for simplicity sake. -
Great Fox (your favorite Smash Bros level comes to KSP!)
Krog34 replied to Krog34's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
We should petition for Jebediah to be a new entry character for Smash Bro's next game. I mean, Sonic got a shot, Sega and Nintendo were rivals and he's in their game! (granted we know the circumstances why but the argument still holds water!) -
Great Fox Download Now! Click for a GIF and more images Fight against the forces of Andross with your own Great Fox battleship! Great Fox is a flyable rocket-plane. She does not have forward landing gear so instead you will have to use the jet system to hover the front end as you taxi down the runway. She flys under her own power without VTOL engine jet assist once you clear 100m/s. She cannot make orbit on her own, a booster assist system is required (which is currently still in development). She will seat 36 kerbals with 2 additional exterior seats, her large guns also act as personal rocket vehicles. There are countless docking ports of all sizes located all around the ship and inside the 3 cargo bays. Please don't let Andross take over Corneria, you are our only hope!
