  1. Wow! That IVA is really nice. I don't see any cupholders or snack trays though.
  2. I love the direction this mod is heading. The textures are really nice and that IVA is and IVA guy's dream {that would be me}. Here's my problem with the Dragon 2. As currently configured when I open the nose cone/docking port cover it swings into a position 90-degrees of the docking port. When I tried docking with an ALCOR lander the nose cone blocked the approach. Would it be possible to have the cone swing open 180-degrees so it clears the way for a dock with another ship? I hope I explained it clearly. I can post a pic if needed. Thanks for this mod, it's just what I was looking for, and it's really good work..
  3. I just ran a test in which I replaced the Altair landing legs with the heavy stock legs. I landed on a 12.5-degree grade on the Mun and it stuck. There was no sliding at all . So I think this is a good indication that the problem has to do with the legs themselves. Hope this helps.
  4. Dang. Brakes don't work. I think we need those rubber non-skid pads you can get at Walmart, and a little Gorilla Glue, and we'll be in business.
  5. I have made two landings on the Mun so far. Both happened to be on a 5-degree slope. In both cases the lander slid slowly downhill. I ended both missions before it found a flat spot or went over a cliff. I've never had that happen before on such a shallow slope. Most other landers I've used, including the HOYO lander can land on a 10-degree slope without too much drama. So i suspect that something is hinky here. Thanks.
  6. I use KJR and have not had a single problem with any launches. In fact Ares really works perfectly with MecJeb Launch Guidance. Nice stable launch. Nice smooth gravity turn and perfect staging. She's a daisy.
  7. WOW! That is beautiful. I love the IVA too. Thanks you.
  8. I am curious as to which environmental visual effects package are you using. I'm using Andromeda Daydreams, which I really like. However once in orbit there is little differentiation between the land and water areas. All land and water areas appear as different shades of sky blue. The EVEs in your videos show distinct green and brown land areas and deep blue bodies of water. Thanks.
  9. Wow! I've been away from this thread too long. That Ares V/Altair is a thing of beauty. I'm really looking forward to it. BTW. I read today that scientists think there could be water under the Moon's crust. I can't think of a better reason to go back to the Moon, establish a research base, and drill for water and signs of life. It's a heck of a lot cheaper and safer than going to Mars, at least with our current technology. Perhaps we will see programs like Orion and Ares/Altair revived for this purpose.
  10. Wow! Beautiful clouds and scenery. Easy install, and it doesn't stress my system. Thank you. I have a question. From space there is very little definition between land and water areas. They are almost the same shade of blue. Is there any (easy) way to adjust the colors to make more of a contrast, with greener and browner land areas and perhaps deeper blue ocean areas? Thanks.
  11. I ran into a peculiar bug. In addition to your mod, I have also installed the KerbalX Dragon and Falcon mod. https://spacedock.info/mod/1387/KerbalX-Falcon rocket (analog SpaceX rocket) I can open your Dragon in the HAB, no problem. However when I click to send it to the launch pad, I get the KerbalX version. I suspect there is some kind of naming conflict.
  12. Nevermind. I'm an idiot. I had forgotten to reinstall RealPlume after the upgrade. Thanks.
  13. I seem to recall that you had updated the engine plumes in 1.2.2 to look realistic for the Titan II. But I just launched a Gusmobile for the first time in 1.3 and it seems to have a stock plume.
  14. I think the one thing lacking in KSP is a sense of great discovery. The anomalies are certainly fun and exciting to track down and discover. Obviously some of them must be alien in origin. But until; your mod there has been little, if any attempt to depict the theoretical science of space exploration. We need hard to find microbes, a black hole perhaps, maybe even fossil remains, or alien artifacts. So, I applaud your contribution. Gotta go find me some dark matter now. Steven Hawking has promised me a signed copy of his book if I bring him some. Have a great day.
  15. I don't care what they do. I like 'em! BTW, by "Black Material" are you referring to what some call "dark matter"? Cause if so, then I really like where you are going.
  16. Here's the Lander on final approach to the Moon. I'm using Stock Scale Real Solar System. She has very predictable handling and is fun to fly, land, and takeoff. You can't really see it in this picture, but I have attached a number of experiments as well as two storage lockers to carry surface experiments. What a great little mod. Thanks!
  17. That would be great. Thanks. BTW, that is one beautiful IVA!
  18. Oh maaaaan. It's beautiful. But I'm still using 1.2.2 till my other key mods update. You wouldn't have an earlier, 1.2.2 compatible version would you?
  19. For the most part, I agree. Though I find that using the main engines, for orbital maneuvers of any type, to be superior to the VTOL engines, at least with the many types of vehicles that I have tested. I think that MechJeb prefers engines to be in the back. Also, optimizing the Lander for this function will define it from the Ranger which is more of a recon ship. BTW, I also think that the Lander should have a lot more inventory space than the Ranger.
  20. So does that explain why we see this crazy huge consumption rate of 40203.86/sec?
  21. Yup. I see the same thing, both on the runway, in the air, and in orbit (vacuum). If you activate the main engines at full throttle you burn through all 4000 # of Deuterium in an instant. At the lowest throttle setting you burn through it all in a couple of seconds. I suspect the consumption rate which appears to be >40,000/sec. Is that intentional? I'm using the provided craft files.
  22. I love landers. For me, the most exiting part of this game is landing on a moon or planet followed by the white knuckled takeoff when for a few moments you are hoping that everything that needs to happen to get off the surface and into orbit, happens. I also love science. So this mod is right up my alley. And so far I am thrilled with what you are doing. It feels real. Thanks!
