Speaking from experience I have used those cockpits as an early orbital capsule, so its not an impossibility. I just need to use the giant non rp0 huygens heatshield. Worked decently well at the time. Definitely not preferable to an actual capsule, but it's not totally unreasonable. I should also note that this was also in rss/ro, if that matters. Though I kinda assume it is?

Have you tried.... More engines? As for the tail spin problem, my guess is that it would be body drag or lift from the nose. Maybe clipping in more wings in the back would help it not do that? -

Sure ok. Though I'm still somewhat confused. -

I am now curious. And confused. -

Are you suggesting there are crafts with higher part counts? O_o cause Im unaware....... -

You'd probably break the record for highest part count aircraft. But it would be amazing doing so! -

You know what would be kinda funny? If you made the PTV a parasite fighter or like a drop ship of the Biggest Boi. Progress looks good though. owo. How does it work? -
More/Better Rover Parts
qzgy replied to Skywalket's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Wait the VAB? What's that? I personally almost never use that building. The exception being RO stuff. Back to the topic - In general I'd like to see a lot more small parts. For replicas and what not as well as fine detailing and stuff. Smaller wheels would be a nice thing to have too. -

that was not the original intention... But hey least you know now. And it shouldn't detract from the work. -
.... Heh? I can see why you would want the mk 2 decoupler, to make it more flush. I don't understand the orbit part though. Also typically speaking, its a plane right? Planes dont tend to decouple or chop themselves in half midlflight, which would kinda give a decent reason as to why mk 2 and mk3 decouplers don't exist. You could always use this mod though. Adds a bunch of mk2 sized parts including a mk 2 decoupler.

Hmm. I saw more F-35 in that tail design personally before looking it up. Granted though, they are very similar. That wing and intake though are very tomcat like. Also... canards where? And why? Also any plans on making the wings move too? You have so much space within that fairing it seems for fun bits. Partcount would be a different question. I think its fine. Nothing to worry about. Interested to see how it turns out though. Good luck! -
These things? Ooh I like that. Thats actually probably a lot easier than a full eve return. Can the blimp actually land though? Well.... could be worse I guess. Its just an ad disaster. Not a full on company was found to be using child labor or something. That would be worse.

hmm..... does VTOL include helicopters? O_o In any case, any helicopter submission from me would be heavily penalized cause of the large use of reaction wheels.....

For myself personally still on 1.3.0. The only particular reason is that it works, my files are on it as well as my mods and I don't particularly feel like updating things. I have 1.3.1 and 1.4.x downloaded, it's just really more 1.3.0 is nicely holding everything.

It shouldn't especially with your specs. Speaking from experience though once I made a 800 ish part Christmas tree which lagged worse than some of the other monstrosities I've made...... No particular reason why AFAIK As for what I actually did? I made a new heli based on a new (not sure if novel, I would be surprised if someone hadn't already did this...) engine that is able to be timewarped with due to a embedded claw in the design that latches on to the rotor disc (where the blowers point). First or second time working with turboprops in a while. Fun to do.
-
Got back into making a new hopefully better engine for a Laythe Heli., complete with timewarp friendly rotor reattachment (done by having a claw gently nuzzle the main blowed on bit). Static tests have shown good numbers. 2 panther blowers on dry produce approximately 240-250 kn of thrust from the engine. When in wet mode thrust increases to 400 kn. I'm wondering if anyone has maybe any more suggestions looking at it to help improve the thrust? Radial Speed is on the low side, not sure how much I can do about that without increasing the diameter of the part the blowers blow on and/or fiddling with the blade angles.

Getting things with wings into orbit I don't think would be the main use. I think the real advantage is sticking things with wings in cargo bags and fairings. So.... I don't mind this.
-
.... wat. Who even thinks of these kinds of things.....
-
That looks incredibly annoying o work in constantly especially in the heat. Probably better than having your face melted off/burned. Curious why there isn't a cooling garment of some form. Or if you could make one yourself?
-
Its alright I guess. Haven't had too many bad experiences that I can remember.
-
Now stick it in orbit. My most complex satellite is a telescope replica I made for the shuttle challenge. I'll put pics later...
-
.... People like this.... actually exist? Thats surprising...... maybe also concerning.... For myself personally, I like recreational reading a lot. Nowadays I haven't as much but I've been doing it on the train and to procrastinate from reading other less interesting stuff.

Important for anybody who is using a space station
qzgy replied to ArmoredLipid's topic in KSP1 Discussion
..... what? I'm not sure why you say that. Even if you have SAS off you can still rotate the station about since the reaction wheels (SAS Module part thingies that you so helpfully tell us to set to pilot only) still work. The self stabilizing autopilot is off though thats all.
