  1. Someone reread one of my mission reports, Voyage: The Final Warning and found this lovely snippet: And that snippet of the story was from June 15, 2017. This was almost six months before the FH test payload was announced!
  2. I totally get you about rereading chapters, sometimes I have to put a story down for a few months and I'll forget where I was going with it. Only 30-40m/s. It's not actually designed for long distance travel, that part is unfortunately not legitimate. The carrier was actually originally a barge I designed for the Falcon Heavy challenge to land the center core, I just lengthened it by about 3x for this (although it was still barely enough!). The original was actually designed to fly to its destination and land on water to recover the center core.
  3. Accepted, because it seems pretty harsh, but realistically they probably won't do anything. And we technically still own our mission reports (which I was confused about earlier) but TT can technically do what they want with them although they almost certainly won't. So, well... Yeah. I'm back. Let's hope this doesn't blow up in our faces.
  4. I believe they said largest, but I might have misheard. Not as heavy.
  5. Approximately 4 years, 10 months, 8 days, 6 hours, 13 minutes, and 2 seconds ago, I bought a lovely indie game known as Kerbal Space Program. I played on a laptop known currently as "the brick." It's graphics card was not up to the task of running the game - it was 0.19. Re-entry effects had just been added. The rendering power was not enough, so it just turned the entire ship hot pink.

I could talk about the nearly five years of experience over four computers, several friendships, my presence on the forum starting nearly two years ago, but I will instead talk about that first day, nearly five years ago.

On May 25, 2013, 11 year old me loaded up the laggy game and built a four part rocket. He called it "Baby Steps I."

It took off from the pad quickly (if it had been on a better computer, anyways).

    It pushed through the souposphere.

Jebediah Kerman saw the curvature of Kerbin.

    The simple booster dropped away.

The capsule re-entered the atmosphere and the parachute deployed.

    It landed with a thud.

Jebediah Kerman exited the capsule, blinked twice, walked around, pressed F to grab and F to board. Then, Little Eleven Year Old Me pressed escape, dragged the mouse over, and clicked on "end flight."

Today I replicated that mission in 1.3.1. There were no screenshots of the first launch. Or the second. My first screenshot was an attempt at a launch escape system.

That's not important. What's important is that many people have concerns about the future. Things may be okay. Things may not be okay. Much could change, for the better and for the worse. Maybe nothing will visibly change at all.

No matter what happens to the future, we always have the past. To remember. To cherish. To hate. To love. To improve on.

This is not just an ending - This is a new beginning. Onwards to the future, whether good or bad, happy or sad, mad or glad, we shall venture forth.

    Cheers

  6. If anyone is interested I translated the Terms of Service into English. Or at least tried to. If you read that, it's important that you know this is what they could do, and is most likely designed to prevent actual infringement rather than to steal users' work. If TT stole a mission report and made it into a novel or movie or something without credit/payment, all we forumers have to do is complain to the press or post our outrage to reddit and it will probably explode. TT probably knows better than to do this, for the public backlash would be tremendous and they would become rather disliked. So while it is what they could do, they most likely will not ever need to. I may attempt to translate the Privacy Policy as well.
  7. I feel like I need to say something: the balance between round and flat characters is pretty hard, especially when you have over 100 characters to keep track of. So I'm just going to keep most of the new ones flat except for a few. This chapter reactivates a few medium characters who will hopefully become round soon. During interplanetary journeys (and a year in real life of playing this save) I forgot their personalities (what little they had). I will try to avoid that problem in the future, both by posting more frequent chapters and using faster trajectories. I also took a look at the Eeloo ship... It's going to take a while to arrive and a course correction is too costly, unfortunately... But, guess what? New chapter! Chapter 41 - Interplanetary Mountain Climber
  8. Take Two. Actually, looking at it I think I'm overreacting a lot. Yes, they do have the power of boilerplate EULA/TOS to do whatever they want to this but they probably won't and this won't ever get published so I'm just going to keep it here unless something catastrophic actually happens...
  9. All my stories are currently on hold as in two days TTI will legally own them, holding my breath here. If it will help with legal stuff I might consider moving everything to a different platform.
  10. And one last thing - if I host stories on this forum, TTI owns them, but what if I hosted them somewhere else? Would the screenshots and the use of the Kerbal name still mean TTI owns the story? Because if I can make sure that I own the story I will, but if I can't do anything about it at all, then I'll be really sad but I'll probably still continue writing.
  11. Tomorrow is the first day of the State Academic Decathlon competition... Wish me luck, I've been sick all week. :P

  12. Okay, I've seen multiple varying answers to this, not sure if anyone knows for sure, but... Everything we post on the forum belongs to TTI after the new rules come into effect, right? Or is it everything on the forums, period? If I were to remove something from the forums before the update would it still belong to me?
  13. Have the commas in the rep and post counters always been there?

      qzgy

Apparently not. I don't like them...

    3. Piatzin

      Piatzin

You got used to the old version. We'll get used to this sooner or later :P XD

    4. qzgy

      qzgy

True enough. But I can still dislike them for a bit. Seeing just a block of numbers was nice.

  14. Yes, a screenshot would definitely help, at current there is not enough information to make more than a slightly educated guess.
  15. Can you post a full list of trophies and percentages? I've found myself extremely curious.
  16. Aww, I sort of liked DSG. Although, I think it would be better to have a station name that's not an acronym...
  17. So, anything we post on the forum is owned by TT? Cool, let's post famous music videos everywhere and see how that works out.
