Three Planets. Two large, one small. Two Species. One on a path to destruction, one on the road to the stars. One chance. One chance for a future. Prologue: This is Planet Earth Okay, the dramatic prologue is over! Hey, I'm Ultimate Steve, and you may have seen me around here before, from my (many) posts, or maybe from my other mission reports, Project Intrepid and Nightmares. (BTW this is completely separate from Project Intrepid, which will continue.) This is my third mission report/dramatic story, Voyage - The Final Warning. A few things to note: This story takes place in a fictional universe where Kerbin and Earth both exist in the same galaxy. There is also 85 other species in the same galaxy (including a few from the Magellanic Clouds). Also, in this parallel universe, the game "Kerbal Space Program" does not exist. The story will primarily be told from the perspective of a teenager from America named Ethan. There will also be scenes told as flashbacks in Italics, but if italics are too hard on anyone's eyes I can change that if people want me to. All you have to do is ask, I can divide the text up another way. All of the parts are stock, and the mission (I know what you're thinking, "What mission?") will be done without cheating that actually affects the mission. I may use HyperEdit for special effects, as well as Kaboom! I also use KER and KAC although those won't play a big part in the story. I'm going to somewhat exaggerate the problems we have on our planet for a bit, so please, don't take offense! Any and all feedback is appreciated! I was originally going to call this story "Odyssey," but I realized that there are at least two other active mission reports with "Odyssey" in the title. The mission in this story was originally not going to be a mission report, but then I realized it would be nice as one. Some of the screenshots will have to be reconstructed, as I had no real reason to take many screenshots early on. Enjoy! Chapter One - The Earth is (not) a Sphere

Lego to release deluxe Apollo 11 kit
Ultimate Steve replied to vger's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Also, it has 1969 parts, the same number of parts as the year of the moon landing. (Wow, how do they pack that many pieces in there? That's more than my millennium falcon!) -
Fast Ways To Add Lots Of Kerbals To A Game
Ultimate Steve replied to AWESOMEPIEMAN's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Turn on "Auto Hire before launch." Built a stack of mk3 cabins. Launch. Profit. (Although I don't play with auto hire, it may only fill the root part.) -
Ja! @max_creative

*Has brief two second existential crisis involving saves that have been copied across versions since 0.23.5* Nice analogy! He did mention, however that only a few things were reconstructed rather than copied... although copying could also be considered replicating... I actually saw a thing on reddit a while back about reusing Falcon 9's and replacing parts. That very same analogy came up.

@Kuzzter just out of curiosity, under what circumstances would a computer have those countermeasures?

You are only allowed to give 25 likes per day. You cannot give any more likes today. 357?!?!? Wow, I think the only time I've come close to that is when I had a bunch of Ion plane test craft together in the same save as my spaceplanes.
-
Wow, that must be a ton of craft! My KSP likes to "Stop Responding" when I load quicksaves. It was a whole lot worse with my old install, though. Back in 1.1 I had over 110 quicklaods, with 50+ craft, about a dozen being huge ones, in each.

Any good freeware editor for videos and photos for windows pc?
Ultimate Steve replied to Cloakedwand72's topic in The Lounge
I haven't really done any research into "serious" video editing software, and as a result I use Windows Movie Maker for video. It's very basic, but IMO the few features it does offer it offers well. Many people disagree, however. -
Armored Patrol, Flood Escape, Ride a rocket to the space station and the moon, and Survival mode of The Conquerors 3? At least, those are the only things I play on ROBLOX any more...

1/10 I think I've seen you before...

I might make another music video. What song should I do?
Ultimate Steve replied to Ultimate Steve's topic in KSP Fan Works
Okay! Seven Nation Army and Starman (or Space Oddity) are all on my list of things to do in the future. *Stands on top of Mount Everest* *Unrolls list* *List rolls out down mountain* *List reaches base camp before being fully unrolled* (Yeah, I have a big problem with wanting to do things but never finding the time. Someday!) I have decided to do a KSP music video of "My Heart," and I have started working on it already. I am about 30 seconds in and have over 50 video items just for those 30 seconds... This may take a while... Finished video coming soontm. -
Circular Runway
Ultimate Steve replied to The_Rocketeer's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I couldn't really see this happening an actual KSP, but if this were a mod, I'd totally try it out.- 51 replies

And I remember now, that I saw the video late at night, then went to sleep. In the morning I was trying to remember what the game was called. "Something Space Program?" "Space Program Game?" "Zerbo Space Race?" Thankfully, I remembered! Eight-ish updates, ten thousand screenshots, four and a half years (Wow, really?) and fifty thousand words of mission report later...

Over time (What I did in the next one surpassed the previous one, this is a timeline): 1. Landing my first probe in the Mun over a lot of quickloads. 2. Docking to my first space station after hours and hours of misses. 3. Landing a Kerbal on Minmus for the first time. 4. Landing a Kerbal on the Mun. 5. Landing a Kerbal on Duna. 6. Building a replica of Kuzzter's Dipperkraft and having it actually work, in a career mode (At least, I think it was career mode... I can't remember...) 7. On that same Eve flotilla mission, rescuing two Kerbals that I accidentally jettisoned, wile in solar orbit, and still making it back to Kerbin (albeit half a year late). 8. Making the first working Ion plane in KSP 1.1 (or was it 1.0? I can't remember!) 9. Landing my Eve ascent vehicle on Eve after several tries getting it not to tip over. 10. Walking on Eve. 11. Ascending from Eve. 12. Managing to land 916 Kerbals on Minmus in one launch.

In term of file size, please. I got curious a few seconds ago, because I was trying to open the quickload menu in my "Project Intrepid" save. It took a about a whole minute. I checked the file size, and the entire "Project Intrepid" folder is 325MB. That's almost a third of a gigabyte. What's yours?

1. Scream. 2. Run inside the house while screaming. 3. Hope my parents/sister aren't home. 4. Dial 9-1. 5. Hold my finger above the "1" button and hesitate. 6. Put the phone down. 7. Google "English to Kerbal translator" 8. ??? 9. Profit.

Storage bay, whats it for?
Ultimate Steve replied to Kaiser82's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Well, actually, you can do it with a 1.25m one, if you do it right. One of my Duna landers used a 2.5m service bay with a science bay in the center with the other experiments around it, and using symmetry, six command seats. It worked perfectly. -
I might make another music video. What song should I do?
Ultimate Steve replied to Ultimate Steve's topic in KSP Fan Works
@DarkOwl57 Hmm... *Adds KSP MV of 7NA to ever growing list of stuff I should do sometime* @cubinator Haha! I was actually sort of thinking about writing a song myself to do something with KSP! Good to know I'm not the only KSP player/songwriter out there! @adsii1970 Listening to it right now! Sounds interesting @max_creative Yay! People share the same taste in music as me! 0_0 YAAAAAS! No, though, the copyright would do it in, unfortunately. Otherwise, I would totally do it! (And Starman. I really like Starman for some reason.) @adsii1970 (again) Well, that's one way of getting around copyright... -
Well, then they'd be antithrusters, which the media would confuse with antimatter thrusters. I can imagine the headlines now: NASA tests Antimatter propulsion! Andromeda flight coming soon, one man says...

NEW OP, reusing the thread. I finished another KSP music video, I can do another one and I am open to song suggestions. I have removed the old poll as it didn't really work. Just make sure that on this list the song is either not listed or listed as viewable worldwide (ads are fine). The old OP: There may be a few of you who remember my "Final Countdown" KSP music video that I made a while back. At the time, it was the best video I'd ever done (and may still be) and currently sits at 249 views, my second most viewed YouTube video. Unfortunately, the video ran into copyright issues and is now unlisted and blocked in Canada and Germany. If you aren't in these two countries, you can still view it using the link in my signature. Skipping to the point, I would like to eventually make another KSP music video, one that will not get copyrighted out of existence, but still one of the songs I like. This is where you come in: I would like you guys to vote on which song you would like done first. My Heart (By Different Heaven and EH!DE) - It makes my head bob every single time the drop hits. Is definitely on my top 10 songs list. Plus, it's been released by NCS, making copyright violations a non-issue. KSP Theme (Epic cover by Álvaro A. Lorite) - By far my favorite cover of the KSP theme. I'll try and contact Álvaro if I can to ask him permission to use this. Starmachine 2000 (By Wintergatan) - This is my second favorite song ever, second only to The Final Countdown. Starmachine 2000 has the unique ability to put a smile on my face no matter what has happened to me. Wintergatan is the band behind the viral video "Marble Machine" and by far my favorite band ever. As far as copyright, this song is not listed on the YT copyright database, and I would attempt to contact Wintergatan first before making the video, and I'd be sure to buy the song first (Really? Only a dollar? and 8 bucks for the whole album? You guys are awesome!) as well as other stuff. Chances are, you haven't heard any of these before (Well, I mean, you've heard the KSP theme but probably not that arrangement), and I encourage you to listen to all of them, they are songs I really enjoy. Alternatively, you can suggest another song, just try and make it one that won't get blocked on YouTube. The song chosen will hopefully be done by mid-summer, and I eventually plan to do all three. Thanks for your vote!
