  1. @betelphi In theory you should be able to change those details with an "MM" patch providing the ranges are exposed by @taniwha.This would be far better than modifing the source and recompiling (something you would have to do for every release)
  2. @cgwhite4 Have a look at Keriden Dynamics, there are 3 sizes of storage cans for each standard diameter that can be configured for scrapmetal. They wll keep you going in the interim.
  3. Keriden dynamics make storage tanks that take Scrap metal, they also have a 3D printer that makes rocket parts without Kerbals. One problem I found with modular fuel tanks is that it removes the single content life support canisters from TACs life support (only left with the "Food, Water, Oxygen" tank in four sizes) which is an issue if you already have vessels / stations / bases built using them
  4. Don't know if I am being particularly dense atm or are we missing storage for scrap metal for the latest upgrade. Just recycled a ship and got 500 scrapmetal for it
  5. Hmm, it would, possibly help a little if the link on the op lead to the download instead of to the message annoucing the update Hmm, it would, possibly help if I clicked on the download link and not the release notes link
  6. @Sharpy I have found, in the past that some contracts will not be accepted as complete until to I shift back to KSC or some other ship, then back to the contract vessel.
  7. Entirely normal. To put it simply, Bill is too stupid. Put in multi star engineers that have very low stupidity levels (I use kerbalstats and portrait stats mods to give me all the stats for each kerbal)
  8. EL does not handle background production very well, it seems that production max's out based on the level of the next lowest level of resource. i.e Item production depends on the volume of RP avail when EL goes out of (or possibly comes into) focus. RP production seems to be determined by the amount of metal on hand, and so on. This is only based on my observations not on any hard data Suggestion: If possible add more RP storage and fill it, see if that improves the construction rate
  9. Re changing recycler output to scrap metal. I, for one am all for it. However I feel you should be able to opt in on an item by item basis. I currently have vessel in transfer orbits to the outer planets, they have been setup as seed ships working on the basis that recyclers produce metal. It would be a royal pain to have to rethink the strategy this late in the game. Ideally a scrap metal container becomes available with the mod using it if found other wise staying as it does now and at a later date changing it to only produce scrap metal. One option vis tanks is to have a generic tank that can be re configured for contents on the fly when empty. You could change colours depending on content or icons. One niggle I am having, not 100% sure that it is EL causing it, My stations keep changing the icon to base every time I put a ship thru the recycler. One thing I need to try is to see if the icon changes when I am in control of the ship being recycled or the ship doing the recycling.
  10. There is/was a bug in the previous version of EL in that Module manager was not applying the skill set patch, the bug was being hidden if you had kerbalstats installed. There is a PDF in the install folder that covers the skill side of it
  11. @Warezcrawler from the sound of it, something on your vessel is clipping the launchpad. If it has landing legs, retract them (after finalizing or in the VAB) before you release. If this is no the case then check to see what, if anything, is lower than the anchor point to the pad and try to redesign your way around it. @sardia There is the blue orbital pad (which you can use to build stuff on the surface with) and the folding launch pad (complete with built in rocket engines).
  12. @Saira76 heres a link to a couple of flowcharts for EL https://www.dropbox.com/s/mutxy05jtlv0t76/EL Flowchart 2.jpg?dl=0
  13. @Saira76. Just a heads up. The recycle bin never has produced scrap metal, only metal. If you have no storage space for "Metal" then you will get no return on recycling. The only producer of scrap metal is the workshops in the manufacture of rocket parts, again, if you have no storage for scrap metal then that production is lost. The only way to convert scrap metal is via the smelter, which converts it back to metal
  14. You where asking a few days ago about suggestions for use's for scientists, that got me thinking ( a slow and labourious process fraught with comedy). How about as geologists for mining / resource recovery. If you have a scientist onboard you get a bonus to resource recovery rates, increased if you have a lab on board. Works along the lines of having a better defined ore body so you mine in the richer areas. Another area would be as surveyors ( I continually have to spend a lot of time finding large enough flat areas (<0.5 slope) for bases (I don't like using clamps or legs. Personal preference). Would require another module, a 3D Laser Terrain scanner that would give hi res contour maps of local areas. The 3D scanner, if used with a seismograph, could also be used for seismic surveys to define ore bodies. Agnemon
  15. Career Latest build of KSP 1.2.1 win 64 (as of yesterday) 1604 I think from memory. Productivity factor appears to be working, scales with number / experience of Kerbals, haven't tried to get absolute values tho. can do if would help
  16. I have had the survey range issue for quite some time but have no issues building stuff other than an issue that seems to be caused by IFS in that LF and O will not xfer on release from the station dock or from Ashpalt tiles landing pads conf'd (scimans MM patch) to act as construction pads. Mono, metal and RP all xfer as expected.
  17. I have a problem with LF and O not transferring to a newly built ship (EL) scenario 1: Ship built using EL Orbital launch pad, mono transferrs upon ship release (as does metal and rocket parts) but LF and O do not (volume is deducted from station stores but not credited to new ship) scenario 2: Ship built using Kerbal Hacks Ashphalt tiles landing pad (configured as a build platform using your? MM script I believe) same result, mono, metal and rocket parts transfer on release LF an O do not, with volume deducted from source but not credited to new ship. Removing Interstellar fuel switch fixes the issue Agnemon
  18. Seems the problem is with interstellar fuel switch, removed it from game and fuel seems to be working now (only tried 1 instance tho) Agnemon
  19. Houstan we have a(nother) problem The space dock is not transfering LF or Oxidiser on release, in fact it drains all the tanks on the host. mono, metal and rocket parts all transfer correctly (this problem also manifests "Ashphalt Tiles landing pads that have been configured as construction pads) Haven't trie'd the EL Landing pad. No logs atm sry, will get one tomorrow night if needed (and mod list) Agnemon
  20. Ok, that was the problem (KerbalStats that is, not the highlighting) But I am having an issue with the range that the Survey Station sees the stake, it has to be within 50 meters even with a 2 star pilot inside (it could be the new instant level upgrade option, Don't think those Kerbals have been back to Kerbin) I also see that the blue workshop produces rocket parts even with no kerbals in the ship, let alone in the workshop. Is this intended? Agnemon
  21. Houston, we have a problem ! I can't build with stakes, when I bring up the EL screen (when building from the Survey station) I get a single line of text along the top and this error message "NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object" Range to stake 50 meters Kerbal is a 2 star (90% courage, 36% Stupid) Link to Log file : https://www.dropbox.com/s/xixibgwqtpp06py/KSP.log?dl=0 Link to Screenshot : https://www.dropbox.com/s/jyncw022n36z00w/screenshot0.png?dl=0 One day I'll figure out how to post images directly Mods: Blitzzys Toolbar 1.7.13 B9 Part Switch Chatterer 0.9.91 Community Category Kit Community Resource Pack Editor Extensions Redux 3.3.3 EVA Transfer 5.0 EL 5.5.2 Glass Things Interstellar Fuel Switch 2.2.6 KAS 0.6.0 Kerbal Hacks (Ashpalt Tiles) 1.2 Kerbal Stats 2.10 KIS 1.3.0 MechJeb 2 2.5.9.0-645 Mod Rocket System 1.13.1 Near Future Electrical 0.8.1 Planetary Base Inc 1.3.2 Portrait Stats 12.0 RCS Build Aid 0.9 Repo Soft Tech (AMP Year) 1.4.2.0 Scan Sat 16.10 Trigger Tech (Kerbal Alarm Clock) Tweakscale 2.3.1 Ubio Welding Ltd 2.3.4 This is a 3 or 4 day old fresh install, was having the same problems so reinstalled everything. 22. Hey!, no fair, you updated too soon, I haven't got the new career science level high enough yet Now I'll have to spend alot more time playing to get the science level up far enough to make use of this Bugger!!!
  23. I have the same problem. It appears to be the heat shields that are causing the issue (all 3 stock ones) Just did a quick test on the launch pad, the problem is the heat shield.
  24. It amazes me how trite and petty some people are. I have been reading the posts on this and other threads and frankly the behaviour of some people is appalling. The cost of this game (in Australia) was, from memory about $AU40, less than the cost of a carton of beer (that would have passed thru the kidney filters within 2 to 3 days if I'm thirsty, and it's already getting into the hi 30's (celcius)). I come from a time when, once you bought a software package, that was it, no updates, no bug fixes. If you wanted it fixed you bought the next version, or the competitors version, if there was one (pre internet, pre ethernet even (although we did have sneaker net). I even go back to the times when you copied basic code from a magazine to get programs. Nowadays snot nose's whine everything is not perfect, well, news for you, it never is and never will be, so suck it up. This is unfortuantely one of the biggest faults with the internet, there are no visible consequences to ones actions so those that do not have the intelligence and backbone to moderate themselves run amuck and think it's great fun Squad have done an excellent job on this game (and it is just a game) and the modding community is phenominal. There was a post on FB that I saw the other day that pretty much covers it "In 1944 eighteen year olds were storming the beachs of Normandy, face almost certain death. Fast forward 70 years and we have to give eighteen year olds special rooms so we don't hurt their feelings" Remember IT's JUST A GAME alright, I'll give you that it's a damn good one. now, where did I put my asbestos undies?
