  1. There's a lot of PQS terrain stuff going on while still in Kerbins atmosphere, it'd be interesting to compare the RAM speeds of those suffering with lag to those with smooth frame rates. A lot of store bought PC's come with bottom of the range RAM, even if they have a lot of it, programs won't use more RAM than they need so it just becomes a sales point to bundle lots of cheap memory.
  2. Looks like it's trying to use a memory address outside of 16gigs, not that it's using 16gigs, so it'd be an invalid call rather than running out. The stack trace actually specifically mentions a 2D texture call and clouds. And the KSP.log also ends with clouds. So I'm guessing it's the clouds...
  3. Good luck, the Unity3D engine is not supported for Windows 2000, and requires DirectX 9.0c which was never released on that platform, the last being DirectX 7. Linux is available for free you know...
  4. This isn't actually correct, the post I found before on this issue seems to have been deleted, but in simple terms it's like this... Unity have an old license from when Novell owned Mono, and their license allowed Unity to not only edit Mono, but also to retain their changes without contributing them back, while still using Mono commercially, though they have since made their code available. Xamarin is more than happy for Unity to dynamically link Mono and use it under the GPL, but Unity wanted to put Mono into the engine, that means buying a new commercial license so they can use a newer Mono statically like they do currently, but Unity doesn't see why they have to pay twice as it were. So Unity currently can only use the older Mono unless they buy a new license from Xamarin. Supposedly someone could use the source here to update Mono, but the Unity code is proprietary so you can't compile it in. What's moot here is Mono itself, as when Unity stops using it all the licensing with Xamarin stuff becomes a thing of the past.
  5. This should really go in Games I think, moved!
  6. You mean this by our very own daniel l. ? I'm not clicking that link to check as I don't want to give that guy my traffic, and I'll remove the link too.
  7. Unfortunately Unity5 won't use a newer version of Mono, even though the version used by Unity is very old and out of date. Unity look to be replacing Mono eventually anyway, and will translate C# code into C++, so Unity won't be fixing any of the bugs in their version of Mono. Squad can't fix Unity's Mono either.
  8. Hello Space Core, please see this thread, and try restarting the computer
  9. Hi fireblade, this is PrecisionX, you probably don't have it if you're not aware of it, it's software for monitoring and overclocking the graphics card. KSP doesn't like to be overclocked so if you could put your gfx card back to the defaults it should stop the crashes.
  10. Done, it's only good for your archived messages now
  11. It's one account per member though, I can set it to not be able to post, but it'll still exist and you will be able to access your messages.
  12. Well, I can merge it, but that could go bad, or just lock it.
  13. If you got this far you don't need the email, welcome to the forums Also, moving to Welcome Aboard!
  14. Sorry no, aerospikes simply do not maintain thrust at any altitude, they are affected by changes in air pressure just as with any other rocket engine. This argument just highlights again a misunderstanding and lack of knowledge of what aerospike nozzles of any kind are capable of, their strength lies in their being less effected by changes in pressure, but no engine is immune.
  15. Hi Sweeper, if you used the KSP.zip then KSP shouldn't be placed in Program Files as there won't be a Windows registry entry, the zipped KSP should be unzipped to C:\Games or a similar folder you create that is not part of the Windows folder structure. If you installed via Steam, the Squad installer or GoG, KSP will be in the steamapps folder, C:\Kerbal Space Program or C:\GOG Games\Kerbal Space Program by default respectively. Also it does matter where KSP is installed because of data execution prevention it's best to just make a C:\Games folder and install KSP there, copy over your preferred KSP install and delete the old ones once you have it all working.
  16. Well I'm glad it's working, it'd be nice to know how, maybe there was a Windows update?
  17. Hi bueskyd, there is a slider for the aeroFX in the Settings screen and in the flight screen options when you press escape in flight.
  18. ArcticVoid, please upload the output_log.txt from the KSP_Data folder to pastebin, it should contain more information. I will also need to know what processes are running when you start KSP, you can take screenshots of your taskmanager and put them on imgur. Your dxdiag is confusing, it is showing three NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti cards, which may mean you have multiple registry entries for this card. When updating a graphics driver there can be problems if the previous driver is not fully removed, and this can only be done when the system is rebooted after the current driver is uninstalled, the system needs to be rebooted again after the new driver is installed so the driver can start correctly. You could try running a registry cleaner like ccleaner to remove duplicate and old entries, that should clear up dxdiag if nothing else, and may fix your KSP issue.
  19. He reinstalled his OS, not just KSP or Steam. We will need your KSP logs and dxdiag hardware report, and you should test your other games in case this is not isolated to KSP. Of most interest will be your DirectX info. See here for details.
  20. You guys might like these by the way gGATORr's propeller driven warbird. Pourpaya's compact stock propeller aircraft.
  21. Another white screen? I think you need to look here...

  24. That is an unofficial list boxley, there were official plans for new planets in 1.0 Stuff is on that list and the WNTS list because they are asked repeatedly, and endlessly by everyone and others get fed up with it As this looks like yet another planets request thread I'm merging it with one of the many others.
