  1. Hi Rrday-4, can you secure the rover with struts? Also please put the craft file online somewhere and post the link here, dropbox is good for this.
  2. If you use the translate gizmo (press 2 then click the part) and have angle snap on (press C) hen drag the gizmo arrows, your parts will snap to an invisible grid centered on the parent, so you can get surface attached parts to line up accurately. Turn off angle snap for per-pixel adjustment.
  3. It's never as simple as "just making a hotfix"... With code, such as a plugin, the development version will have undergone many changes, changes that cannot just be added to the existing code as it'd break it, and that may themselves have broken other things so the dev code isn't in a releasable state. The same goes for parts, the ones being developed aren't ready until they are ready and have been tested to not break the existing release. Then there is the support issue, do you support the current release, the current plus "hotfix", do you refuse to support the current release without the fix? It's much less of a headache to make sure things are working then release the update as a whole. And a "hotfix" isn't a small thing despite the name, it's still a patch or set of replacement files, this takes effort to make and takes effort from development, especially if the fix was a stopgap that has to be worked around when the real update comes later. So I very much doubt Nils can make a "hotfix" for this, please be patient for the proper updated release
  4. Moved to gameplay questions, also, nice plane Randazzo.
  5. Yeah I find the term "OP" to be a little impersonal, it's two keystrokes to describe the person who potentially sparked new discussion and thought on these forums.
  6. I'm not sure if tourist contracts are affected by reputation that much, at least their rewards all seem to be much higher than other contracts at the same rep level.
  7. Ion RCS is not a real thing, it is currently only considered for use as a main drive as the extremely poor thrust makes them unsuited to maneuvering, and unless ion drives become much more powerful it is never likely to replace other real technologies such as reaction wheels, control moment gyroscopes, gravity gradient stabilization, or conventional hydrazine monopropellant thrusters. In fact, searching for ion RCS only seems to return the Kerbal forums. If you would like ion RCS you are welcome to ask a modder, but it is extremely unlikely to be in stock KSP.
  8. As has been mentioned, you wait until the release, and the dev notes do not say anywhere that 1.0.5 is available, not even in the title. So please be patient, closing!
  9. My thoughts are that the community has had enough of this particular topic, please use the addon above if you would like different fairing behavior. Closing!
  10. -force-opengl is an unsupported Unity3D engine feature, if it doesn't work Squad can't fix it. I wish I knew what actually caused this but all I can suggest is that you try the following: -popupwindow Ensure your driver is up to date. Ensure that your screen resolution is not set higher than your monitor can handle Don't alt+tab. Disable Windows XP/Vista/7/8 compatibility mode. Don't use an unsupported Unity feature. Update: This may be caused by having a resolution in KSP that is higher than your screen, sometimes called supersampling mode
  11. That would be 1.0.1, to verify you are using the current version of KSP, open your KSP folder then the buildID.txt file. It should contain this:
  12. Hello Gothraga. Before we can provide any assistance you will need to provide the information detailed in this thread.
  13. The launcher is broken, and currently only downloads a html link to the Squad website, this is a known issue. All I can suggest is you ignore it.
  14. There is no PS4 Eta guys, and asking for release dates is in the rules: The only answer anyone can really give is "when it's done".
  15. What about electric charge? Please post pictures of the vessel with the resource tab open (top right) to imgur.com and your output_log.txt from KSP_Data to a file share or test paste site such as dropbox.com or hastebin.com See the support stickies for details.
  16. Steam runs the KSP.x86 by default, you can change this in the launch options for KSP in the Steam client. Just put this in the box. %command%_64 "%command%" tells Steam to use the correct path and KSP.x86 file like it normally does, "_64" is appended to the end, making "KSP.x86_64" and starting the 64bit version.
  17. I'd just like to add that Xubuntu has the excellent Whisker menu now so start menu search is a thing Yeah you won't get KSP to run directly with a live CD, most live CD's anyway and certainly not Mint or Ubuntu, as the live session is really just for trying it out, and it'd need installing properly in order to work for games. I've not been able to get KSP to work to a playable level in a VM yet, but linuxgurugamer managed to do it in Fedora, but I did get KSP to start in Puppy linux (which can install a proper gfx driver even though it's run from a CD or usb stick, it saves all changes to a persistent file, yes even back to the cd it's on), so if the patcher is fixed, Puppy or Fatdog (64bit Puppy) could be a good way for Windows users to run KSP without any installing or dual booting, it'd just need the patcher rolled in and some simple instructions to get set up. Also this probably should be in Space Lounge as it's not about KSP directly, but about operating systems, moving!
  18. Xubuntu user here and I'd recommend that over Mint as a few players have had issues with Mint's drivers recently. There's one bug that can cause issues with KSP x64 on Linux, but that's easily fixed and my Linux thread has instructions on doing it (which I will tidy up when time permits). KSP can run better, though it helps if you have an Nvidia graphics card, and a dual boot would let you run both Linux and Windows so you wont lose anything.
  19. Glad you got it going in the end teatime, as for the above, in case it will help anyone else, '~/' is shorthand for your home directory, so '~/home/user' is redundant. Use either '~/myfolder' or 'home/user/myfolder', they do the same thing
  20. Squad is actually adding the foundations for localization support in 1.1, though languages will come later, and this azerty issue has been reported on the Unity forums as well, apparently it's quite a problem.
  21. Pretty much this, as short posts that just ask questions or '+1' annoy other members, but posts that actually add to a thread and are well received are fine. And of course the threads owner creator can revive their thread at any time (unless it's locked, then they can ask the moderators), well unless it's to say 'bump!' Edited as "owner" is not the correct term here, the threads creator doesn't own the thread, but as they made it they have the ability to edit the opening post, much as any member can edit their own posts.
  22. No one said Kerbals had to die. Idea's have been raised by many in this community from loss of reputation to Kerbals just sleeping.
  23. I'll try. As you are using Ubuntu the easiest way is to install 'nautilus open terminal', this can be found in the Ubuntu software center by first opening Software Center, then searching that phrase, click it to show the install button, it will ask for your password. With that installed you can open your KSP folder using the Steam client which you already know how to do, right click on any empty space and you will see an option to open a terminal there, it will open already set to that folder. The .local folder is a hidden folder which is why you couldn't find it, hidden files and folders can be toggled in nautilus with the keyboard shortcut 'control+h'. With a terminal open in the KSP folder you should see a box with 'username@PC: ~/.local/share/steam/steamapps/common/Kerbal Space Program$' Type 'mono ckan.exe' without quotes and press enter. ckan should now start, if it doesn't you'll have to post the error message here so I can see what went wrong. Mono does not need any files copied to KSP, Linux is able to use Mono from anywhere once it's installed, and KSP uses a built-in version of Mono supplied by Unity, but which can't run ckan, you don't need to worry about the Mono files. As for the shortcut, if it is set to open as a text file in gedit that would be why, the default for files containing '#!/bin/sh' is usually the terminal, you can fix this though, please right click the file and click 'open with', or on 'properties' there will be the option to open with another application, then a list of programs. As this is a script, it's best to click on 'custom' and type in 'sh', then click 'ok'.
